A quick post tonight to say hi. And I’m tired!
I have taught five hot yoga classes in the last two days. Three on Wednesday and two on Thursday. Let me state for the record that I am not complaining. I absolutely love each and every class that I have the honor to teach for so many different reasons…but that much “give” wears a girl out.
This is hard to explain but the difference between leading a yoga class and one-on-one personal training is night and day. I can do 3-4 PT clients in a row or 4-5 daily, no problem (although I do max out at a certain number per day and can’t be “on” anymore).
But when I teach, it’s different. Even thought I don’t practice with them (I walk around talking and assisting), it’s 60 (or 75 or 90) minutes straight of talking, hands-on adjustments, messaging, observing, coaching, encouraging, etc. I give them everything I have and it’s exhausting in an amazing way. It’s complete, 100% job satisfaction.
After teaching three classes and 87 yogis on Wednesday at Charlotte Yoga, I walked out of class to find that the studio owner had left me two chocolate chip cookies and a kombucha. Made me smile!
On Wednesday I also had an awesome opportunity to be a guest on Charlotte Today for a segment on yoga and stress relief.
It was about six minutes long and we talked about how yoga can help alleviate stress and I walked them through three poses that anyone can do to feel better!
Let’s take a quick moment to talk about this…
I picked Sullie up from her dad today and she and Zoey have been completely inseparable ever since. These two are obsessed with each other and it makes me so happy. I am going to write a blog post soon about adding a second dog and how it’s benefited all of us.
And…ummm…I am not raising a spoiled puppy at all! 🙂
So about that upcoming vacation in the title of the post.
This time next week I will be here! Last fall I planned a four night winter getaway with two of my best girlfriends. We used Cheap Caribbean and got an amazing deal on an all-inclusive resort + flight to the DR. I require an at least once yearly Caribbean trip. I can’t wait!
What’s something you are looking forward to?
Nice! I just returned from a trip to an all inclusive in Mexico, it was amazing! Then I went on a little road trip last week. This weekend I’m looking forward to NO PLANS!
yes, always good to have no plans after you’ve been on the go and traveling!
Is that the Dreams Resort in La Romana? If so, you will love it! The food is good for an all inclusive.
no! it’s the colonial majestic or something like that!
Ah, your upcoming vacation sounds amazing. It definitely sounds taxing to teach so many classes and to be “on” all the time. Those days at work were always the hardest, energy wise. And Sullie and Zoey are just the cutest together.
I’m glad I’m not the only one whose dog has way to many toys 🙂
haha! it’s just hard not to want to buy so many! it’s so much fun to give them the new toys. they get so excited!
I LOVE that you take a vacation like this for yourself every year. I just sent a email to my friend to see if we can make this happen sometime this Spring. I need a getaway like this and do you know I’ve never been to the Caribbean???? This needs to change. I want to practice yoga with you! XOXO
get on cheap caribbean and book a getaway ASAP!
Can’t wait to read the upcoming Sullie and Zoey post! They always make me smile! Enjoy your vacation, you have def. earned it!! 🙂 I went to the DR with my family 3 years ago on an all inclusive trip and it was my most favorite vacation yet! Safe travels and Happy Friday!
thanks mc! this will be my third trip to DR but first to this resort. i am just ready for sunshine, a beach and a book!
Congrats on the TV appearance!!
thanks nicole!
We are looking for a resort in DR for spring break. What resort is this? Can’t wait to hear your review.
majestic colonial – i will write a review. the only other place i’ve stayed in DR is zoetry (twice) and it’s amazing. but pricier than this place!
Your trip sounds amazing!! LOVE hearing about the pups, btw:) They are so adorable together! And I am looking forward to a trip to Florida in May with my girlfriends. We started going a few years ago and decided to make it a yearly event. The countdown is on, and it’s so fun having that on the horizon to keep me smiling on our cold, snowy Midwest winter days!
annual trip traditions are so much fun! where in florida do y’all go?
The St. Pete’s/Clearwater area. It’s SO beautiful! We have such a wonderful, relaxing time–there’s no schedule, just a lot of beach time, great food and good times together. We even got to take “yoga on the beach” class together last time! With a great instructor and a view of dolphins and manatees, that was a real treat!
A Caribbean trip looks AMAZING right about now. Actually, anywhere warm really. The pups are so cute. 🙂 Oh, and I’m looking forward to my first trip out of the country in September to Ireland – a place I’ve been dreaming of going my entire life!
oh my gosh! i went to ireland when i was 18 and it was one of my favorite places i have ever visited. you’re going to love it!
My husband and I honeymooned at the same resort in your picture. It was amazing! Have the best time and make sure your drink of choice is the Banana Mama! 🙂
I am looking forward to hearing about the ring on your finger in the video. Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you! The video was amazing. Have a wonderful vacation with your girlfriends and congrats again! xo
Yay for a TV appearance! That’s great! Your trip to the Caribbean looks amazing! Bring on the warm weather 🙂
I loved your tv segment! And congrats on your engagement. Can’t wait to see more about it on the blog.
Congrats on being on TV!
