Good morning!
Some bloggers do these “coffee talk” posts where they conversationally write leading with, “if we were having coffee right now, I’d share…”
But sadly, my coffee is empty. So we’ll just chat.
I had a sweaty and tearful start to my day. I taught my 6 a.m. and it was my friend Virginia’s last class before she leaves for college. I started mentoring Virginia about a year and a half ago after she finished teacher training (she was our youngest TT graduate ever!) and what started out as a professional relationship morphed into a very special friendship. I’m so proud of her as she enters this next chapter of her life.
Speaking of teacher training, I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to officially be co-leading my first 200-hour starting in January. We are running a super early bird special with an amazing discount for anyone that commits before September 1. You can get the details on our website and let me know if you have any questions about teacher training!
Yesterday Virginia and I had our last “friend date” and met for a crazy tough workout at Madabolic and then checked out Charlotte’s new acai bowl truck after. I’ve been doing Madabolic with her for the last couple of weeks (after she begged me for months to go with her) and it’s been a great change of pace. I’ve really enjoyed the workouts!
Quick update on the pup front…Sullie has been her usual angelic self.
She is just the sweetest!
And here’s Zoey in a rare moment of calm. She is still all kinds of puppy and her latest trick is jumping on the guest bed…with her ball…and making herself comfortable. She’s cuddling with my fiance’s 14 year old pug in this pic. He is obsessed with Zoey and wants to be close to her all the time even though she torments him on a daily basis.
I have been enjoying Blue Apron this week. It’s such a treat to come home and know exactly what’s for dinner and to have all the ingredients on hand. I’ll be sharing all of this week’s Blue Apron meals in another post soon!
In the world of social media, I am trying to embrace two new apps. First, SnapChat. If you want to connect you can find me @jendecurtins. SnapChat confuses the crap out of me but my goal is to start chatting and posting stories!
Second, Periscope. You can find me @jdecurtins. I am excited about this one because I love video! I can’t wait to share all sorts of fun yoga, fitness, golden retriever-related broadcasts! I’m currently trying to get brave enough to do my first broadcast!
I’d love to hear back from you! What’s going on in your world right now? Are you using SnapChat or Periscope?
I’m not on snapchat or periscope yet! I feel like I struggle with what I have at this point (Social media wise,) but I’ve heard great things about it.
I need to try that Acai truck the next time I’m in Charlotte! Where does it park?
Across from the Duke Energy building on South Tryon.
I really want to give periscope a try, but right now I’ve been playing with iMovie and VIMEO and was finally able to get my first tutorial uploaded.
I just joined Snapchat a week or so ago. Still trying to figure it out!
When you figure Snapchat out, please write a post on it. I would love to join, but have no idea what I am doing!
Haha! I’m working on it!
Love Snapchat. I am addicted to watching through other people’s eyes. So interesting!
San Francisco has an acai bowl truck that I see every so often – I need to try! They look like artistic creations.
They’re delicious! Perfect for after a workout.
I don’t use either of these, I feel so “old” when it comes to social media these days! Love your blog, especially your recipe ideas! I used to enjoy your vlogs, any more videos for us with questions and answers?
None planned right now, but I’ll keep that in mind! My Periscope and Snapchat will both have videos.
Your dogs are adorable!!
Thank you! They’re frequently featured on my Snapchat!
Are your floors original hardwood from when the home was built? They remind me of the home that I grew up in and, while I have hardwood in my own home now, I just do not find it to have the same look and charm as my childhood home. If it’s a newer installation then really nice!
As to your question, I get as technical as email and following blogs! I’m pretty much social media inept!
they are! my home was built in 1955!
I thought so – LOVE them!!!
