Happy Summer Solstice and International Yoga Day! Two of my favorite things.
I am not currently teaching yoga right now due to maternity leave but I have a new yoga project that I’m working on involving online classes coming later this summer/early fall so I’m excited about that! Look for more details on that in the coming months.
In the meantime, I thought that International Yoga Day was a great time to pull together some of my favorite yoga posts from the past few years. The information you’ll find in this post will apply to everyone from aspiring yogis to regular practitioners to those considering taking the teacher training plunge!

And don’t forget…I wrote a book about yoga!
Check out my book, The Complete Guide to Yoga Inversions. It’s not just about inversions but about how to take basic yoga postures and progress them into more advanced variations. I cover everything from headstands to arm balances to things like drop backs and bird of paradise! It’s available on Amazon!
As always, I am open to any and all topic requests about yoga!
For those of you who practice…
- Favorite pose?
- Hot or non-heated?
- Back bends or forward bends?
- Biggest lesson yoga has taught you?
I used to practice frequently but then moved and now live ~30 mins away from the nearest studio 🙁 so I am very excited to hear about your new yoga project and online classes!!
Thank you for putting the yoga videos here in an easy to find spot!
Thank you for compiling various yoga posts. It’s quite helpful! I went to my first Yin yoga class today. Holding the poses for a longer period of time was fulfilling in the end. The biggest lesson yoga has taught me is letting things go and really focusing on the poses; not let my mind wander.
Funny that you decided to post this yesterday. (Well, not really since it was International Yoga Day, but still!) I started Yoga Teacher Training yesterday and while I was at the bookstore looking for our assigned book, I saw your inversions book and bought it as well! I am so looking forward to teacher training, I’m a little overwhelmed already but also excited!
For years, all I did was power yoga, vinyasa/flow yoga – basically a yoga practice that would make me sweat and feel like I “worked out.” Now I am all about yin yoga, and try to practise twice a week. I run, swim, crossfit, and so on, and I now so look forward to my yin practise (in heat). Guess I am finally listening to my body!!!
YAY!! for an online option with you!! Im training for my first marathon and between all the running I need to do plus teaching my fitness classes, I am having a hard time finding time to fit in yoga (which I know that I desperately need!). Can’t wait to hear more about your new project!!
Looking forward to your online option! Sounds like a good way to have some work/family balance 🙂 Thanks for posting these resources in one place – mobility is a big focus for me right now.
