This has been a pretty serious week here on Peanut Butter Runner. I thought it might be nice to lighten things up a bit today. So here I am with a Five Things I’m Loving post full of random awesomeness! (p.s. total credit goes to Ashley for the topic idea – she is the originator of “5 things I’m loving”)

The Avett Brothers
Well, I’m always loving The Avett Brothers but there’s something about summer that just makes me want to listen to them all the time. Joe Kwon (the cellist for the band) has a photo blog and posted this picture yesterday from their tour bus. Dogs + Avetts = perfection.
Songs on repeat right now? Shame, Pretty Girl from Matthews, Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise…and many, many more!
White Jeans
I talk about fashion pretty much…never (and I used to really care about it…oh how priorities and budgets change! ;)) but I have been living in white jeans. Pair with a colorful top and wedges and you’re good to go!
Tomatoes and Peaches
I can’t get enough tomatoes. How is it possible for homegrown summer tomatoes to taste so much different than what you buy in the grocery store? It makes me wonder why I even bother eating tomatoes when they’re not in season. They are just insanely delicious. I love them sliced with salt or in a sandwich with fresh herb mayo. Heaven.
I’ve been buying North Carolina peaches at the farmer’s market the past couple of weeks and they are so sweet and flavorful. I’ve been incorporating them into my breakfast. Overnight oats topped with peaches and stirred into hot oatmeal with blueberries and bananas.
Rest Days
I kind of touched on this in my last post but I’ve been taking more rest days recently and my body is responding with a big THANK YOU! I really love to be super active and push my limits but sometimes it’s necessary for mental sanity and physical well-being to back off of intense training and rest. I have no doubt that I’ll come back stronger than ever on the other side! Another benefit of taking more rest days has been more sleep and more free time to do things like hang out with Brandon, cook and bake. Love it!
FEELING love – from friends, family, students and YOU!!!
Creeping back into some seriousness right now but recently I have felt so grateful and blessed for all of the love and support I have been receiving from my friends, family, students and you. Things have changed a bit over the last few months as I’ve taken on more teaching commitments and focused more on my blog. My schedule is pretty jam-packed but I am so lucky for the opportunity to do the things I love with the support of my family and friends. I really enjoy blogging and sharing my experiences with you and can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of your comments and emails…they totally make my day and make all the time I put into my blog worthwhile!
What’s in your top 5 right now?
Something fun: check out my guest post on Exercise for Fries. Another “5 things” with my top 5 breakfast picks!
Rest days are definitely important. It felt so good to finish up an early morning run today and realize that tomorrow is my rest day. It almost makes it feel like I have TWO rest days.
Right now I am loving: juicy fresh peaches, date nights with my husband, welcome home from work hugs & kisses from kids, my Moving Comfort Vixen sports bras, and our neighborhood fro-yo store (that is within walking distance from my house).
I’ve been on a HUGE Avett Brothers kick this summer too! And I’ve heard so much about Carolina peaches the past few weeks that I kind of want to fly over there right now and eat a bunch myself
Ooooh…I love this:)
I’m in love with peaches right now, too. 🙂 I’m glad you feel the blog love!
I love all of these except rest days and white jeans 😉
My husband and I recently discovered the Avett Brothers and love them too! Just finished listening to them on the computer, actually. 😀 Glad your body is enjoying the rest. I always read blogs for the writer and their personality, not for the fitness, the health aspects, the recipes or the fashion…so even if the content changes, I think your readers read for who YOU are! 😀 Keep remembering those things you love and thanks for that reminder today!

Oh, you look great in white jeans! I love them, but they never quite look right on me. Right now I’m stuck loving maternity yoga pants, but I can’t wait to wear normal clothes again! 🙂
Jen, I am a huge fan of both your blogs! This is my first time posting a comment, but I absolutely LOVE your white jeans! Where did you find such a cute pair?
Dana
