I can’t tell you how amazing it’s been to meet with an esthetician monthly to talk about my skin as part of my partnership with Carolina Facial Plastics. I truly feel that we are on the path to a long-term sustainable skincare routine that I can stick with for years and years to come!
Today I want to update you on some new products that I’ve added to my routine and am really loving as well as two services I received and my experience with them.
NEW PRODUCTS
Vitamin C Serums. I’m currently trying out Image Vital C (this was actually voted BEST Image product) and Obagi Professional-C Serum 10%.
Why?
Vitamin C Serums help to even skin tone and help to brighten dull skin. This makes them beneficial for those with rosacea, dry skin, sun-damaged skin and eczema. It also helps with fine lines by stimulating collagen production. Applying it topically to the face instead of just taking a supplement is said to be a great deal more beneficial for the skin. Read this article for more information on the benefits of Vitamin C.
My thoughts?
I’ve only been using them for a few weeks but so far the biggest difference has been in the hydration level of my skin. I had a small breakout this week. Not sure if it was attributed to stress or adding the new C serum but it’s clearing up now. I love the way it feels on my skin.
Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation with SPF 20.
Why?
Jane Iredale mineral makeup is the leading makeup brand recommended by plastic surgeons and dermatologists around the wold. The products feature a blend of natural minerals from the earth and sea. The base acts as a four-in-one solution of foundation, concealer, sunscreen and active skin care benefits. The products are non-comedogenic, never tested on animals and are said to require minimal touch up.
My Thoughts?
This is my first time using a mineral foundation and it’s perfect for my lifestyle. It’s so easy to swipe some on in the morning and it provides good, natural coverage. It’s also very gentle on my skin. I appreciate that it includes SPF 20. I’m eager to try more Jane Iredell products.
Why?
Latisse is a prescription treatment to grow longer, fuller eyelashes.
My Thoughts?
I quite a few friends who use Latisse and I can’t believe it took me so long to get on the bandwagon! I have been religiously curling my eyelashes before applying mascara since I was in middle school. I was not blessed with naturally full and long lashes and I’ve tried countless mascaras to help with this. I’m really excited to be trying Latisse! Here’s a little on how it works…
I’m about 8 weeks in and it takes 16-weeks for the full effects to kick in. So far I have noticed some improvement in length but I can’t wait to see the final results. I have had zero side effects with this product and I’ve been using it nightly. Some of my friends have said they feel like almost need to trim their lashes after using it!
MY CURRENT ROUTINE (Building off of my base routine)
AM = Cleanse, Vitamin C, Eye Cream and Sun Protection
PM = Cleanse, Eye Cream, The Max Creme and Latisse
Love, love, love this eye cream that I use AM and PM.
Overall, I’m feeling happy and really confident with how things are going with my skin. This picture was taken after my most recent facial with Dede at Carolina Facial Plastics. If you live in Charlotte you MUST GO VISIT HER. She’s a lovely person and knows what she’s doing!
Have you tried mineral makeup? What beauty products are you loving lately?
You have a beautiful and glowing complexion! I like using mineral foundation, as well. It’s easier to sweep on and blend into the skin
Your skin looks amazing! I have wanted to try Latisse – maybe i’ll jump on the bandwagon one of these days 🙂
I have been going to an esthetician for over a year and she gave me the Image products as well, I love them and my face has never looked better.
What a great opportunity.Your skin looks absolutely flawless. I have never had a real skin care regimen. I am a wash and go type girl, but I know I should start taking better care of my skin now if I want it to look good later. I am only 26, but I hear this is the age to start! Any recommendations for those of us that can’t afford to see an esthetician?
Not sure how you apply the latisse, but I have had much better application experience (and less waste of product applying it with an angles make-up brush than with the “broom” it comes with!
How do you buy/order Latisse???
I love Jane Iredale makeup products. They are the only makeup products I use! I wear makeup very rarely, but the I love that their products are made from natural and organic materials. And the message behind their line is one that I can get behind.
