Hey, hey! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
I owe you a Friday recap…it was a really good one so let’s get right to it. First, I got to start my day with yoga, which was amazing. I have been so busy lately that I’ve been limited to practicing 2-3 times per week. I’m trying to get maximum benefit out of those few practices.
I felt so good after my practice that I spent a good five minutes while I was getting ready telling Brandon about how yoga was just the best way to start the day. I’m pretty sure he was only half listening and was more interested in drinking his coffee. ๐
Breakfast at my desk was plain greek yogurt with bananas, granola, peaches, blueberries, cinnamon, dried cranberries and a sprinkle of chia seeds. Finished off with a spoonful of sunflower butter in the middle.
Lunch was pretty noteworthy. I made a grilled cheese with Great Harvest Whole Grain Goodness, munster cheese, apricot preserves and spinach. Grilled up in my cast iron skillet with a dab of real butter. Soooooo good!
And then I took pictures of Sullie because she’s cute.
I’ll let you guess whether or not she got a belly rub after this shot! ๐
I worked the afternoon away and then came home to get ready for an evening out. We originally planned on staying in and having a low-key night but then Brandon found out that an Athens band that we like was playing at The Evening Muse in NoDa. We don’t get over to NoDa often (it’s a really cool artsy neighborhood) so we made a change in plans.
We had drinks and a really casual dinner at Growler’s Pourhouse.
I love the atmosphere and they have a great selection of draft beers that change regularly.
I was really excited that the show we wanted to see was the early show (they have 8 and 10:30 p.m. shows at The Evening Muse). I know, I’m a grandma.
Up first was the band we came to see, The Packway Handle Band. They are a bluegrassy Americana band from Athens, Georgia and we used to see them in college.
They were playing with Corduroy Road, a folk Americana band also from Athens. This was our first time seeing them and they were great. Super high energy.
It was a fun unexpected evening out with great live music…and I was home by 10:30 p.m. Win!
Off to get ready for a Panthers pre-season game (oh and the NFL starts again…) so you’ll get the Saturday update tomorrow. We’ll just run a day behind this weekend!
Happy, happy!
What a great night! I love places that have a huge chalkboard covered in beer selections. Craft beers are the best.
Sullie is so freakin’ cute I can’t stand it! That’s the same pose that my parents cat Charlie will get into when he wants a belly rub. We definitely don’t ignore it. ๐
thanks! i think she’s pretty cute too but i’m biased. ๐
love that the cat gets in that pose!!!!
Looks like a great time ๐
I love that you take puppy pictures. Makes me feel better about the number of pictures I take of our pups : )
oh never be ashamed of the number of puppy pics you take! ๐
Loved going to Cabo Fish Taco when living in Charlotte and then walking around the cute little neighborhood. Live music provides such great energy!
i love cabo fish taco but haven’t been there in forever! yum!
Your Noda night looked like so much fun, I love Growler’s!

Fun night out! I have to share with you that Joe and I are considering a move back to Charlotte within the next year or so and your posts remind me of all the good stuff that’s going on there…I wouldn’t know about it otherwise because it’s been so long since we lived there, so thank you! I already have a list of things to do/places to go/gyms to join thanks to your great info! ๐ Oh, and btw, I need some black peep-toe wedges, where did you find yours? They are adorable.
