I have a problem. Nut addiction – and it’s getting serious. This morning (as I was making toast with peanut butter and banana) I was thinking about the things I ate yesterday and realized that I had some form of nuts in every single meal.
Let me show you.
Breakfast – {unpictured} overnight oats topped with almond butter.
Lunch – salad with baby greens, spinach, grilled squash and zucchini, feta, dried cranberries, tomatoes and almonds.
Lunch dessert – half of a banana with peanut butter (I also added a few chocolate chips after I took this picture).
{unpictured snack – Apple Cinnamon & Pecan Kind Bar}
Dinner – salad with mixed greens, a black bean burger, eggs, goat cheese, dried cranberries and pecans.
I think it might have been a record setting day for me in the nut consumption category. I can’t decide whether I think it’s totally awesome or whether I should take this as an indicator that I need to cut back. Hmm…
Are there any foods that you eat every day? Things that seem to make it into a lot of your meals? Anyone else suffering from nut addiction!? 😉
Brandon and I had a fun Tuesday night out to celebrate Caitlin’s birthday at Kennedy’s.
Caitlin’s husband organized the party and I was so happy that we were able to make it. I haven’t been able to make it to get togethers the past few months due to teacher training and my insane schedule. I loved catching up with everyone.
I also loved the huge tray of birthday shots that the restaurant brought out for us. A shot on a Tuesday night (um, or at all…gave these up many years ago)? Who am I?
Bottoms up!
Finished off with a cupcake. Happy Birthday Caitlin, Lori and Michelle (the Pure 2 Raw twins were also celebrating birthdays yesterday)!!!
This post has made me hungry!
And to answer your question, I eat peanut butter, a banana and an apple every single day!
It was a pleasure again meeting you and talking with you last night! Birthday shots – fun times haha Good luck with yoga teaching I would love to come to one of your classes one day! I hope to get back into yoga here soon!!! Take care and hope to see you around more 🙂
It was so nice seeing you ladies! I hope you had a very happy birthday!
Would love to see you in class sometime. My teaching schedule is in one of the tabs above – let me know if you can ever make it!
Happy Birthday to Caitlin! Looks like a fun evening!
I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with your nut consumption. I have some form every day too. I just tell myself that the healthy fats are aiding in my good looking hair. 😉 haha
GREAT point, Alaina! 😛
I can incorporate peanut butter into almost every meal, even if it’s just a scoop right out of the jar after dinner. Wouldn’t want to miss out on any fat-soluble vitamins that came with the rest of dinner!
love it 😛
I eat nut butter every day (either peanut or almond) and well as at least one banana. I use bananas as the base of my green smoothies, which I have every morning for breakfast. Inevitably I have another 1-2 bananas during the day as a before-workout snack. I was reading your banana muffin recipe yesterday and chuckling to myself, as we never have bananas around our house that would be ripe enough for a muffin or bread recipe. 🙂
i have to have bananas in my green smoothies too! i have to really be in the mood to eat one plain…can usually be convinced by topping it with peanut butter! 😉
Oh my goodness! I am so addicted to nut butter and eat it every single day.. sometimes twice – which is not ideal.
This post put a big smile on my face because i’ve been sitting here at work for the past 4 hours, dreaming of my dinner smoothie with coconut butter!!! So excited 😉
Janine
i haven’t tried coconut butter yet…i think i am missing out!
Haha your nut addiction is okay… totally understandable. I am sure we are all on basically the same boat as you… I mean, what’s not to love about nuts? 🙂
I have a nut addiction too! Peanut butter, peanuts, almonds, all of it-so so so good! Ever tried a peanut butter and pickle sandwich? Its seriously amazing, don’t knock it til you try it! 🙂
i have not…i like pickles but usually not on sandwiches. sounds like an interesting combination! 😛
I have a nut addiction too! The other day, I enjoyed almonds in my yogurt bowl, cocoa dusted almonds with lunch, another snack of trail mix with cashews and peanuts, and ended the day with a rushed dinner of a peanut butter banana sandwich. I think my Greek yogurt addiction is getting almost as bad.
sounds perfect to me! 😉
and the greek yogurt addiction is understandable too. it is so good for you!!!
haha your nut addiction seems mild actually! i eat a couple tablespoons of nut butter EVERY MEAL, literally, but i love it and it works fine for me =) i feel nourished ahha
YUM! 🙂
It’s so nice to celebrate special occasions with friends – fun times!
I have a nut addiction, too. It goes along with my banana addiction and my chocolate addiction.
mmm…funny all three of those things taste great together! 😛
