We just arrived home from our yoga retreat in Mexico late last night. There was a ground stop in Charlotte on Wednesday evening due to some crazy storms so we were diverted to Jacksonville, Florida. The initial plan was for us to deplane and go through customs in JAX but thankfully they kept us on the plane, refueled and we were cleared to head back to Charlotte. We finally walked in our front door a little before 1 a.m. and were grateful to be home safely. There were definitely some white knuckled, hand clenching, eyes closed moments on that flight into Charlotte.
These two are doing the pouting game today over being left for 5 days. We have the most amazing dog sitter who comes and stays with the pups so their life is pretty good while we’re gone but they’re still wanting some extra attention and love.
I’m going to break up our yoga retreat experience into three separate posts. Today’s will just be a general photo dump, tomorrow I’ll showcase all of the delicious food we ate and next week I’ll write a full recap of Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita because I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fabulous all-inclusive Mexico vacation.
I’ll go “a sentence per picture” style here.
Five days with extremely minimal work and computer time = HOORAY!
Morning practice space.
Beach + skinny margaritas all day.
Evening practice space.
Every night except for one we ate as a group. This was our date night.
Our “pet away from home.” We LOVE Makita!
Bound half moon.
Evening class.
The walk out to the beach from our room.
Can’t this be my practice view every day?
Y2 Yoga girls!
So glad he loves relaxing on the beach as much as I do.
Long walks.
Little white dress for dinner on the last night. (You have to save the white dress for the tan, right?) Uncaptured by this picture was the size of my curly hair! It faded into the darkness.
I was up every morning before 7 a.m. on this trip. The bonus of that was getting to see the sunrise on our patio every day.
Soaking up a few last hours on the beach before we left yesterday.
Saying goodbye to Zoetry.
Doing what he does best and always making me laugh. This was the scene at the Cancun airport yesterday.
Until next time. <3
Favorite tropical vacation destination?
Have you ever been on a yoga retreat or would you like to go on one?
I have never been on a yoga retreat – well, not an out-of-town retreat, I should say; but after seeing that beautiful practice space on the dock, it’s definitely on my to-do list now! Look forward to seeing more pics!
I’ll be sure to post details on our next retreat here! 🙂
wow that looks awesome. my fave spot is whitehouse jamaica. never been on a yoga retreat. not sure if i would like to ? im not really a group vacationer, im more of a quiet alone time / one on one time with my boo type vacationer. i do think for sure though that if you are not in sync on your vacation style your relationship is doomed!
I have always wanted to visit Whitehouse. It looks so lovely!
RE: vacation styles…I TOTALLY AGREE! I’d go crazy if I had a partner that was a go/go/go can’t sit still on vacation. My biggest excursion is to the gym and my beach chair every day! 😛
Looks like an amazing time! I’ve spent a few vacations in Riviera Maya… loved every minute! I haven’t gone on any retreat type of vacations or with groups outside of my family. I like spending one on one time with my husband and look forward to the time away from everything else.
I agree with your vacation sentiments but one of the things I love most about this trip is how close our little yoga fam is. It’s a perfect mix of togetherness and doing your own thing! I’m not sure if I’d go for a retreat where I didn’t know anyone!
Love your pictures! Beautiful!! Is that a black and white bathing suit or cover up? I love it. Where did you get it from?
Mexico is the best!!!!!! We are due for a trip. Love the photos : )
Yes, it so is! I need 2x/year tropical vibes in my life!
Beautiful pics!!! You are rocking that white dress 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Where did you end up buying bathing suits for your trip? I have an upcoming vacay and am still lost without Victoria’s secret
I didn’t end up getting any new suits and just used the ones I had purchased the last couple of seasons…which worked out great for my budget! 🙂
I definitely want to join you next year! Love that your yoga retreat included margaritas. I can’t go to Mexico without having a few.
Gorgeous photos. And yes – you rock that white dress! Where are your leggings from in that last photo – they are gorgeous!!!
What an amazing time!!! You look stunning. I haven’t been to a yoga retreat but would love too. Wish I could get the Hubs on board! lol!
Where did you stay? Or are you saving that for another post?
so jealous! even though i live in FL – i am craving a tropical getaway!!
i’ve always wanted to go on a yoga retreat. hoping to check it off my bucket list in the next five years!
thx for sharing. love the pics!!
My pup doesn’t mind when we’re gone because she loves her friends at the Pet Hotel, but my kitties definitely pout when we get back!
That sounds like such a fun and relaxing trip, minus the travel!
Such a beautiful spot! And your Goldens are adorable. 🙂
