If you’re looking for a high-quality, clean protein powder this post is for you! I am extremely picky about protein powder and recently discovered Naked Nutrition’s Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder. I am here to tell you that it is AMAZING.
MY THREE FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT NAKED NUTRITION’S GRASS FED WHEY PROTEIN
Here are my three top favorite things about Naked Nutrition’s Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder.
- There’s only ONE ingredient – grass-fed whey protein!
- No artificial sweeteners or added sugars. This is a non-negotiable for me as I do not care for the taste of artificial sweeteners in protein powder.
- No added flavors. Naked Whey does come in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla flavor options and those formulas only have three ingredients. I personally love the simplicity of the plain, unflavored whey. It’s also extremely versatile this way as I typically like to add my protein powder to things like smoothies, oatmeal, etc instead of drinking it plain with water.
NAKED WHEY NUTRITION INFO
Each two-scoop serving of Naked Whey contains 25 grams of protein and 5.9 grams of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). Branched-chain amino acids are essential nutrients that help support muscle metabolism and are important for building muscle tissue protein. Here are some of the benefits of BCAAs.
- Increase muscle growth.
- Decrease muscle soreness.
- Reduce exercise-induced fatigue so you don’t tire as quickly in your workouts.
- Prevent muscle wasting, or muscle protein breakdown.
- Support liver health and immune function.
You can take a deeper dive into BCAAs in this super informative article on Naked Nutrition’s blog.
MORE ABOUT THE GRASS FED WHEY
- Sourcing – Naked Whey is sourced from small Northern California and Idaho dairy farms. Other “grass fed” whey proteins often come from cows in Wisconsin, the UK or New Zealand and those colder climates mean they’re not truly grass fed all year round. Naked Whey’s cows are grass-fed, free roaming, and raised without growth hormones like rBGH or rBST.
- Cold processing – the whey protein is cold processed which means the manufacturing processes minimize heat exposure. Cold processing makes sure that the nutrients in whey are non-denatured. It leaves the amino acids, omega-3s, CLA and immunoglobulins intact.
- Absorption – non-denatured whey is more bioavailable than regular whey. This means your body can absorb the nutrients and amino acids more easily to promote better recovery.
HOW TO USE NAKED WHEY PROTEIN POWDER
While you can use protein powder any time for to add a boost of protein to your day, it’s best used in the morning, before a workout or after a workout.
You can mix it into milk, water or your favorite beverage but my favorite is adding it to my smoothie so I also get a dose of fruits, veggies and fats.
