Not the beer, the blog! Some of you probably noticed that my blog was down Monday. I was in the process of moving it over to self-hosting. I apologize that I didn’t give you all more warning but I wasn’t sure when the switch was going to happen. I have been wanting to transition to self-hosting for months now but have been overwhelmed by the details. I was very lucky to find Patrick with Whiteboard Creations. His team has made this switch easy on me…although I must admit that I had major anxiety while my blog was down. It was weird that it was just gone and I couldn’t check or update it!
Please note, if you were previously subscribed to receive new posts through e-mail you will no longer be receiving those. I am trying to find a new service and will let you know as soon as I do.
***Also, I’m so sorry that I directed everyone to change their RSS feeds. The original feed (https://www.peanutbutterrunner.com/feed/) has been repaired and you should be receiving updates again! So if you were already an RSS subscriber, no need to update your feed!***
And for those of you who are wondering why I did this – self-hosting provides a lot more freedom with blogging. One of the things that you can expect soon is a new and improved design and layout!
Now, let’s wrap up the business and get to the fun part.
I taught the new BodyPump release (BodyPump 75) on Monday morning and I am obsessed. It is officially my favorite release since I went through training on BodyPump 66. My most favorite tracks (really, I love them all) are squats, chest, lunges and shoulders. Push ups at the end of chest and shoulders make for an extremely tough challenge!ย The music in this release is great! Also, we had an awesome group of members on Monday morning that made the early class full of energy and excitement! Yes, I’m a BodyPump nerd! ๐
Lunch on Monday was a bowl of leftover butternut squash and black bean chili.
Is it possible to get a pretty picture of chili? I don’t think so. Topped this off with shredded white cheddar and plain Greek yogurt.
This lunch kept me full all afternoon. I am not used to having such a hearty meal in the middle of the day! I had to run errands after work…including a stop at Michael’s (my least favorite store ever – I am NOT crafty!) for race day supplies. Stay tuned for more details on that.
Brandon and I had plans last night to go to Brixx for dinner because we had a buy one, get one coupon that expired on November 1.
It also didn’t hurt that it was $1.95 draft night! I had a pumpkin ale with a cinnamon sugar rim. Yum!
We split a Brixx salad.
This was the split portion. I love that they bring it out to you this way!
I ordered the Wild Mushroom Pizza on whole wheat crust and added sundried tomatoes. Delicious!
It was a fun, random Monday date night. We never go out on weeknights!
I had my last ashtanga practice before the marathon this morning. I will be practicing yoga a couple more times this week but not ashtanga. It’s a very physically demanding practice and I don’t want to risk any pulled muscles. I had a great practice today! So much fun with backbends and handstands. I can’t wait to really get serious about ashtanga after the race.
Lunch today was slim pickings since I had not made it to the grocery store in many days.
I had a veggie burger on whole wheat with tomato, spinach and cheese. Kettle chips on the side. This also kept me full all afternoon and I didn’t need a snack. I think my body is finally resetting its appetite a little since I’m tapering. (Thank goodness – I was voraciously hungry for weeks!)
I worked late and then hit up Trader Joe’s after work. I restocked on coffee, olive oil, pumpkin and Larabars and while I was there I picked up some Mahi for dinner. It was too good of a deal to pass up. Two giant wild-caught fillets for $5.
I had the small fillet. Brandon’s was at least twice this size! I sauteed my fish with Dizzy Pig’s Shakin’ the Tree. We had roasted potatoes, okra and ciabatta dipped in olive oil and Tuscan spices on the side. Such a simple but delicious dinner!
I just inhaled two chocolate chip cookies from the depths of the freezer and I’m ready to hit publish and go to bed. I’m running in the morning! Only two more runs before Sunday!!!
It was weird for me too when Brad switched my blog over to our server. Can’t wait to read about your race recap! You guys are getting me pumped for mine…too bad it’s about 2 1/2 months away. We’ve gotta go running together again soon! ๐
kelly – i can’t believe you are already up to 18 and are still 2 1/2 months out. you are ROCKING your training. would love to keep you company on some of your long runs after i recover from marine corps!
that pizza looks delish!!
enjoy your week of tapering…I remember going crazy during mine! And I’ve been injured since the marathon so I’m STILL going crazy ๐
natalie – what did you do to yourself? did you get injured during the race? i bet you are so ready to do something!!! it’s hard to go from having a goal like training for a marathon to nothing!
glad you’re back up! ๐
Seriously Body Pump 75 ROCKS! The shoulder track totally burns, but it’s also really fun!
i know – i love that the shoulder track works in reverse. starts overhead with the bar, then plate work and ends with pushups. and love the “need more hardcore” song!
I did Bodypump for the first time tonight and thought of you. I had been doing a ton of weights and squats on my own and felt like my results were coming to a standstill lately.
I am a little rickety after the class and I may need a roommate to blowdry my hair, but I am officially in love.
Great workout and the best part is that the time flies by!
Lindsay – yay BodyPump! ๐ Thanks for leaving a comment to let me know you tried it. What I love about BodyPump is that it’s a total body workout. When I’m in the weight room, I tend to skip over things I don’t love and I would NEVER do the amount of reps that we do in BodyPump. I’m teaching for the first time in a week and a half tonight and I will be right there with you on soreness tomorrow!
