I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend. The highlight of mine was definitely my presentation to the gymnasts on Saturday along with my friend Lina’s bachelorette.
I did nothing on Friday night. I just made the granola bars and sat on the couch with some cheese, wine and a bowl of soup. I was pretty wiped out from the week. I decided to sleep in and have a leisurely Saturday morning rather than getting up and rushing to workout and then make my presentation. It was a nice change of pace.
After the presentation I downloaded a lot of new music and made a pretty killer playlist for my yoga classes this week.
I’m too lazy to separate it by song and artist but I think you can figure it out based on this format. I know I need to create a Spotify account for y’all! The cover of 500 Miles that I played as the first song was pretty stellar…as was the cover of Scrubs (listed as No Angels, the XX v. TLC). I use a lot of remixes and mash ups.
I went shopping for a gift for the bachelorette party later that afternoon. It is so much fun to lingerie shop for friends! After shopping I quickly hit up the gym where I did my treadmill sprint interval workout and the following…
10 x 3
Deadlifts (115 pounds)
Pull ups
GHD sit ups

Then it was time to clean up and get party ready. We had dinner and drinks a Vivace.
Lina is so beautiful inside and out and I was so happy to celebrate her! We met in teacher training three years ago and it was kind of “friendship at first sight.”
We snacked on a bunch of apps including a cheese and charcuterie plate, mussels, brushcetta and more.
And I had a ricotta ravioli with artichokes and chicken that was pretty fab. We went out uptown after and had a really fun evening. That part of the night will go unpictured. 😉
I made brunch after teaching my Sunday morning yoga class. Pumpkin spice waffles with scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. I did some cleaning and then went to practice yoga.
Snack after practice was a cheese plate with apples and crackers.
And dinner tonight after a walk with the pup was homemade spaghetti sauce over spaghetti squash and a salad. I am totally in love with spaghetti squash right now. Although it releases so much water and does not make for a pretty dinner photo!
Off to relax and get ready for the week.
Just made the granola bars and great yoga class this morn! Thank you!!!
yay! thanks for trying the recipe and for coming to class!
Friday night sounds wonderful! baking, soup, tv!
What a great weekend!! 🙂
That would be AWESOME if you made these playlists on Spotify!
Great playlist!!!
I think you may like to listen to my online radio station during your yoga and other workouts. 🙂
PS: Any new Chobani flavors peaking your interest? I am liking the Peachy Pistachio and Almond Coco Loco flips.
i’ll check it out dave!
i haven’t tried any of the new flavors. i get so stuck on plain because i use it in overnight oats and smoothies.
Sounds like my kind of weekend! Sunday is my day to sleep in and relax, and I look forward to it every week! 🙂
i love sundays too! it’s so nice to have a day to do whatever you feel like doing!
Awesome playlist! I cannot wait to download some of those songs!
Thanks for the playlist!! 🙂 I am not a yoga teacher, but I love having music like that on hand…so relaxing! I had homemade spaghetti squash with homemade spaghetti sauce too last night…great minds think alike!
love that we were dinner twins!
Going to have to check out some of these songs, my playlist is getting super old and I need some new songs for my plank hold challenge I’m doing. Anything to distract me from the task at hand! lol
you’ll love these! they will definitely keep you motivated.
I would love a Spotify account with your songs! I am already looking forward to downloading some of these to my ipod!
Not that you asked and maybe you already do this….but i to hate the watery affect of spag squash. i read once to take it and almost fry it up after you cook it to help reduce the water and i think its works pretty decent. i cook mine in the micro, let cool, cut, and shred into a pan. then turn on medium to medium high and let the water cook out. i still get some water release after (esp with the leftovers) but i feel like its waaaaay less if i do the quick pan cook afterward. just sharing !!
tara – thank you so much for the advice on how to deal with the water. i don’t do this and i’m definitely going to give it a try!!!
Love your playlists! Would love to flow to these songs!
You would really like Lorde’s new album. My favorite tracks are Ribs and Buzzcut Season.
i LOVE ribs! i haven’t downloaded the whole album. i’m going to go listen to buzzcut season right now!
NOM NOM on all of the food photos! I am currently obsessing over kabocha squash, although I think my tummy needs to take a few days break from it. I haven’t cooked with spaghetti squash in a couple of weeks…next time.
haha – i hear you on the winter squash and daily intake. it can be a lot to digest!
That Friday night sounds perfect to me. bachelorette parties are so much fun. I was the MOH for one in May and I had a blast planning it and being such a big part of her special day.
That playlist is awesome-I’m going to listen to a lot of those songs at work today. It’s so gloomy outside so it’s perfect.
aw, how fun that you got to plan a bachelorette as MOH! hope you enjoy the music!
Another song I’m loving right now is fitzpleasure by alt j 🙂
I love posts like this – a little bit of everything! That party looks like so much fun:)
Just curious – where did you find Alexi Murdoch’s something beautiful to download? I can only find the youtube video. Thank you!
PS I am coming to Charlotte on Nov. 1 and can’t wait to take your Sunday yoga class!!
