Happy Monday.
I’m over here working away to keep this crew happy, sheltered and fed and I guess we can say that they’re earning their keep by looking cute and keeping me good company.
This post is going to be a little all over the place. I’ve got you weekly workout playlist, a recap of last week’s workouts and some shots from the weekend/since we’ve been home.

Last Week’s Workouts
These were all over the place thanks to the retreat, travel and the race.

Friday: 1 mile treadmill run to warm up + lift + hot yoga
*In an ideal world I would have skipped the lift before the half but since I was on the fence, I just made sure not to do anything that would make my lower body sore.

Saturday: Corporate Cup Half Marathon
Sunday: REST (well, I did demo my All About the Legs Yoga Flow on Facebook Live but luckily that was just 25 minutes long and a good stretch along with making my tired legs shake a little!)
Here’s the flow if you want to give it a go. This was my first time doing a Facebook live for a workout/yoga flow. I think I’ll do more of them!
Weekend
Friday restock at Whole Foods.
I have wanted ALL the avocado toast since we got home. I’ve eaten my way through our sourdough stock in the freezer and I’m baking again tomorrow.
Pre-race one pan roasted dinner with apple chicken sausage, broccoli, potatoes and acorn squash.
Post-race lunch. Sandwich with mayo, dijon, avocado, sprouts, turkey and arugula.
Saturday afternoon baking. I made a batch of my favorite Paleo Banana Bread and turned it into muffins to have on hand for the week.
Of course I had to sample one while it was still warm. Cashew butter on top made it even better. I love this recipe so much!
Tanner tried to convince me to go see the new Wolverine movie on Saturday night. I gave that a hard no because a) I haven’t watched the other Wolverine movies. b) Sitting in the theater for 2.5 hours with sore/tired legs sounded terrible.
I am all about compromising on movies but he had just shot down seeing La La Land or Lion with me so it was only fair that I got a pass on Logan. 😛
Instead we stayed in. I made a Blue Apron dinner that was delicious. It was a beef and lamb veggie stew with mushrooms. The crispy parmesan potatoes on top really made this dinner stand out. I served it with roasted balsamic brussels on the side for something green.
We ended up watching Collateral Beauty but unfortunately I fell asleep about 30 minutes in and missed it all!
Sunday was the usual brunch at home. I also knocked out a bunch of computer work and taught at 4.
That’s a wrap!
Do you and your significant other have different movie tastes? How do you compromise?
Did you stay in or go out on Saturday?
Any weekend baking projects?
We certainly do have different tastes, but luckily we can usually agree on something in the middle. I’m with you though- Wolverine ain’t my thing! Those muffins look delicious!
We are also almost always able to compromise and he comes my way more often than not but I just couldn’t get excited about Wolverine! You must try the muffins!
My husband and I have the hardest time choosing movies! Usually we can compromise with something funny or a thriller. I usually win though since I’m the most picky. 🙂
Yes, I think the key is not trying to get them to watch drama or chick flicks! 🙂 We can also usually compromise on comedies and thrillers!
My husband and I generally share the same taste in most movies … and let me add LA LA LAND tops that list right now but we do rotate who gets the top pick. We’ve been together 24 years and married nearly 17 … so some of this came from being open minded and seeing things we did not originally think we’d enjoy … Case in point: Dr. Strange. I was NOT interested but I got to pick the movie prior so – it was his turn – I ended up LOVING!
And we like Saturday AFTERNOON dates. It started when our girls were old enough to stay home solo but uncomfortable doing so in the evening. And honestly I just like it better than way anyhow. We both like to work out in the AM, come home shower – EAT – and everything is less expensive too: lunch / matinee’s … its a WIN/WIN!
I love this afternoon date idea! Thank you for sharing that!
Also, I totally hear you on being open minded and I can definitely admit that I have been pleasantly surprised at times when I do branch out and try something I didn’t think I’d like initially. (The Avengers movies are a great case in point!)
That post-race sandwich looks incredible!! I’ll also try that yoga flow one of these days. Lord knows I need a good leg stretch any day.
This weekend my dad and I watched The Shack in theaters, and we both loved it! I also want to see Lion and La La Land though!
It was awesome! I definitely need more sandwiches in my lunch routine!
I’ve heard good things about The Shack…and that it’s a tear jerker!
I rarely do yoga but I gave that flow a shot and LOVED it! Thank you for the video!
Yay! I’m so happy to hear this. Thank you for trying it!
We have completely different movie tastes… it’s always a struggle/compromise!
Just seeing the facebook live now… what a cool thing to do!
It was a relaxing weekend here after a crazy trip to Charleston, so I welcomed the peace and quiet. I can’t remember the last time that I have been to the movies. I’d rather watch movies on Netflix or Amazon in my PJ’s. Geez I sound old!
stayed in on Saturday! we had to change our locks and before we knew it, it was 8pm! nothing a little pasta & provisions pizza/salad/wine pickup won’t fix! I’ve been loving some lazy Saturdays this year (after my flybarre sport class to get my butt kicked in the AM first of course)!
We have mostly different tastes in TV and movies! my hard stop is at sci-fi and my fiancé will basically watch anything that isn’t on hallmark (big plus on bachelor nights)! Saturday night we finished up watching The Night Of on HBO. Have you seen? The episodes are long – but it’s a great mystery!
The banana muffins are great (I subbed dried figs for the maple syrup and they were still plenty sweet).
About to listen to the playlist to get me through the rest of the work day.
your dogs are too cute.
i meant to make protein muffins this weekend but never got around to it. i will possibly try today!

I’ve seen both LaLaLand & Lion. I don’t think Tanner would probably like LaLaLand, but I think he’d like Lion. I’m curious why he shot it down… it’s not a chick flick. Logan got really great reviews, but like you, I haven’t seen any of the other ones.
I honestly don’t think he knew enough about Lion. I think he thought it was sad but from what I’ve read, it’s pretty uplifting, right?
