Happy Friday! I am so happy to see the arrival of the weekend. This was a brutal week for me in terms of sleep. I was out every night with various social engagements and up every morning for 5:30 a.m. clients. I do teach on Saturday and Sunday mornings but getting up at 7 a.m. feels like a luxury compared to 4:50! I’m also excited about this weekend because a great friend of mine is getting married so it’s going to be full of celebration!
Quick recent eats post for you but full of eating out. I have been so blessed to spend a ton of time with my friends lately. I had two more birthday celebration dinners with friends (and officially OVER my birthday!!!) and an engagement celebration lunch. Happy times! 🙂
Breakfast
This is the only breakfast I photographed in order to spare you green smoothies. (I did make a green smoothie about 2 hours after eating this!) Toast with lots of butter and strawberry jam and a green juice from Whole Foods.
Lunch
Lunch out at Zoe’s where I got this greek salad and hummus plate that was awesome. I added grilled chicken to it and it was perfectly cooked and topped with caramelized onions. I loved everything that was going on with this combination!
“Clean out the fridge” salad full of randomness. Mixed greens, deli turkey, avocado, beets, sunflower seeds, tofu, carrots, cucumbers, chick peas, sundried tomatoes and homemade honey mustard.
Pita sandwich! I love pita sandwiches but they are a PITA to make! I served this one with lots of ranch for dipping, fresh veggies and fruit.
Dinner
Brixx pizza. Mushrooms, prosciutto, sundried tomatoes and artichokes.
A friend of mine treated me to dinner at Rooster’s and I think this may have been the best grouper I have every had in my life. The mixture of flavors in the dish was perfection.
Treats
A gigantic chocolate chip cookie that was soft, chewy and full of big chocolate chunks.
Did you eat out or eat in a lot this week? Any good treats?
I’ve heard those cookies from Zoe’s are awesome. I ate in ALL week, due to the new puppy in my life. No time for much of anything, except work, working out, and taking care of this adorable little monster. 🙂 Hoping to get back into the groove of things after this weekend. XOXO
I have never been to Zoes Kitchen but have seen it around. I think I am going to have to try it out after seeing how delicious all of that looks!
That cookie looks delicious! I did eat out a lot more than usual this week which is always fun but I am ready for some of my regular at-home meals! For local New Yorkers, I was at Maureen’s Kitchen, Max Brenner and Andrea’s25 this week.
We are going out to eat tonight for a date night. I also ate out on Thursday night when I got together with my girlfriends. We hung out at one of the girl’s houses, so she made a great chicken pasta bake and fresh salad. It was delicious and relaxing to curl up on the couch with my girls. 🙂
Hi jen! I recently found your blog and I just wanted to tell you how much you have inspired me! I am a long time runner..ran several halfs and have now trained for two marathons. Both of which I’ve had to cut back to the half due to injuries. After reading your blog and your experience/dedication/lifestyle with runner to yoga inspired me to try yoga for the first time. I have always intermittently stretched and practiced yoga here and there but only to keep me running. Today I went to my first ashtanga class and I am in love. I have been in such an uplifting positive mood all day and can’t wait to go back (althought I’m extremely sore and it was quite challenging lol) just wanted to say thank u!:) have a good weekend!
