Happy weekend! I hope everyone is having fun and getting ready to celebrate Father’s Day!
My weekend has been great so far. Friday night my yoga teacher training group had a reunion party. The evening was full of good food, wine and Skinny Girl margaritas and some rather interesting conversation.
I contributed baked brie in puff pastry and a slightly inappropriate cake that shall go unpictured. ๐
My plate from our delicious spread included sushi, hummus, baked brie, pimento cheese and olive tapenade on crostini. I had this + more and a slice of cake.
I couldn’t even get over how cute our hostesses’ dog Sophie was. She was so very proud of her bone.
I’m pretty sure we had the best teacher training group ever. I love them so much. I actually don’t think it’s possible to not be ridiculously close after spending 200 hours together over the course of three months! It was so much fun to be together again last night.
I considered practicing yoga this morning but then turned off my alarm and slept in until 8:30 with plans to run instead. Honestly, I needed to get a long run in much more than I needed to practice yoga.
Black coffee and a cinnamon raisin English muffin with almond butter and jam for breakfast. As I was sitting on the couch Tweeting about how I was procrastinating because it was so hot and humid, I received a Tweet from Kelly that she was getting ready to run too. We ended up meeting and running 6.5 miles together. It was so nice to have a running buddy.
And then I ran another 2.5 miles when I got home bringing my grand total for the day to 9 MILES! It felt 100% awesome!
I was starrrrrrvvvving after my run so I quickly showered and dressed and headed to Owen’s Bagel & Deli with Brandon for lunch.
I had the Urban Gardener bagel with cheese, tomato, cucumbers, avocado, lettuce and banana peppers on wheat.
And we split a peanut butter cookie. What’s the point of running 9 miles if you can’t enjoy a cookie after!?
We headed over to the mall where I had plans to meet up with reader Susanne who was in town for the weekend. We grabbed tea at Starbucks and then headed to Lululemon to do some shopping.
Get this craziness…as we were talking Susanne and I realized that we used to work together. When I lived in Birmingham, my client at the advertising agency that I worked for used the agency that Susanne worked for in Atlanta for their media planning. Susanne and I used to exchange emails but we never met. How crazy is that!?! I really enjoyed hanging out with Susanne. We have so much in common!
While I was there I snapped some shots of my ambassador portrait on the run wall.
I promised my grandmother that I would share them! ๐
I have been going through about two workout outfits a day given my recent teaching schedule so I picked up a few new things to add to the mix today. I am loving the new Charlotte store – so many cute things!
Off to eat spaghetti, drink a glass of wine and head to see a movie!
Anyone else long run this weekend? Or do any fun shopping!?
What a productive day, wow! I love that you got a long run in on top of everything else–impressive!
I didn’t run–did some treadmill incline intervals, elliptical, and strength training this morning.
Definitely did some fun shopping all day today–we went shopping for engagement picture clothes! I got a ton of stuff at Loft, Macys, etc…so excited!
Awesome photo! How exciting to see yourself in Lulu… or so I imagine. ๐
Gorgeous poster, Jen! Sounds like a great weekend! So funny about Susanne! I totally remember her. Hope you enjoy Bridesmaids!
AAAH that is SO COOL!! You’re FAMOUS!! ๐ If Lululemon was cheaper I would SO live in their clothes!! And wow 9 miles?! Definitely deserves a PB cookie ๐
I’m actually headed to Lululemon in about a 1/2 hour! I can’t wait to get a few things off my wish list!
Even smaller world….I worked NCA summer camps with Suzanne years ago!! I definitely yelled a little when I just saw ya’lls picture together! Toooo funny!
Headed over your direction today, but going to Monroe to teach another camp! Have a great week!!
Love your running portrait. That’s awesome.
Love the portrait in Lululemon- very exciting!
My prayers are with your grandmother — as well as you and the rest of the family!
What a small world. Susanne and I used to work together at Mindshare in Atlanta. Great pic at Lulu, btw. And my thoughts are with your grandmother. Hoping everything turns out positively for everyone.
