Well, we’re officially en route to the Marine Corps Marathon! I worked a half day today and then we hit the road for Richmond, Virginia. We’re spending the night here and then driving into DC tomorrow morning.
I started the day with my VERY last training run of marathon training. Sullie accompanied me on an easy three miler and I wore my 2009 Mercedes Marathon finisher’s shirt to pump me up!
It felt great! The next time I lace up my shoes, I’ll be lining up at the start of the Marine Corps Marathon! And a HUGE thank you to my sister in law and her boyfriend for house and dog sitting for us this weekend. Sullie loves you for it!
After a frantic morning at work, I came home to finish packing and eat a quick lunch before we left.
Leftover tofu from last night’s pad thai on whole wheat with hummus, tomatoes, provolone and spinach. Yummmmmy.
I would be a liar if I didn’t tell you that Brandon and I hit a bag of Ultimate Cheddar Munchies hard in the car on the way to Richmond! ๐ณ
We arrived in Richmond around 6:30 and decided to go downtown for dinner. We received a few dinner recommendations from friends and decided to try Kuba Kuba. We loved all of the row houses in Richmond. So cute!
I had the Vegetarian Paella for dinner.
First, the portions were WAY too big. If we’d have known that they were this big we would have split something. I hate wasting food and we couldn’t take our leftovers home because we’re traveling. Second, I wish they would have disclosed that this was full of capers. I am NOT a picky eater but I just cannot stand capers. I try them every time they’re included in my dish and I just keep hating. This has been going on since I was very young. BUT this dinner was perfect for carb loading. Lots of rice!
We’re back in the room and ready to crash. I’m trying to get a lot of sleep tonight because I know tomorrow night’s sleep will be hit or miss.
But first…my race day shirt!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to my sweet husband for spending hours on this last night while I rushed around like a crazy person packing and cleaning!
Off to bed. At least nine hours is the goal! Tomorrow is marathon eve…
Love the shirt! AND Sullie’s collar! ๐ Enjoy a sober GA/FL today and good luck tomorrow!!!
Good Luck Jen!! I know you will do great!

That shirt is absolutly wonderful! Where did you get it?! I’ve been looking for one just like it for mission trips and marathons to get my blog out there.
