1: Hour-long nap. It was my first nap in months. In general, I don’t nap (you read my blog…you know I can’t slow down) but for some reason I was determined to take one Sunday.
I came home from teaching yoga, inhaled an egg sandwich and promptly passed out. Sullie was more than happy to participate in nap time with me!
2, um I mean 3: Cookies eaten after dinner. I baked a batch of toffee chocolate chip cookies and just couldn’t stop at two! And FYI…the cookies are two different colors because I underbaked one batch and overbaked the next. Brandon and I have had an ongoing debate since about which is better. No, really.
3: Outfit changes over the course of the day between teaching and taking yoga.
4: Showers taken. Seriously. When you spend most of your day in a hot yoga studio, it’s a necessity. See photo above for proof. I pretty much look like a sweaty mess by the end of class. Hair piled into a bun, shirt sweated through. Attractive.
5: The time that I ate my afternoon snack. Greek yogurt with granola, bananas, apples and almond butter.
6: Hours spent at Y2 Yoga…and I loved every single second. I started the day on my mat with a beautiful ashtanga practice before teaching my 9:15 hot class. Practicing before I teach makes my heart happy. And then upon awakening from my afternoon slumber, I decided to attend the 2:15 hot class since Brandon was at a football game. Finally, I went back to the studio to sub the 7:30 hot vinyasa.
There is something about Sunday evening yoga that is so restorative. Although I still taught my normal challenging class, I kept the lights low, lit candles and played a more chill playlist. The class was amazing and I felt so inspired by every yogi in the room as I watched them move through the poses, sweat and breathe.
A perfect day.
Yep! I change my outfit multiple times when I teach, sometimes I am doing too many things and get stuck in one. Blah!
i know, there is nothing worse than having to run errands in cold, sweaty clothes!
Thats one well deserved nap my friend! Perfect sunday!!
Yikes I bet you do a lot of laundry!! That’s the only thing I hate about working out…the multiple showers and laundry!! 🙂
tons and tons! luckily, my sweet husband takes care of the laundry. it’s pretty amazing! 😀
Sounds like a perfect Sunday!
It does sound like a perfect Sunday! Naps are the best and sometimes you just gotta slow down and enjoy some downtime.
What a great post 🙂 I think having a great Sunday is just about the best thing you can do for yourself.
This sounds like a really good sunday. And weekend! But seriously, how do you manage to keep your skin hydrated after showering four times?! Mine even hates me after two and surely would peel of in dry, desertlike flakes leaving me immediately if I’d dare to shower that much on one single day. Is it good skin genes or a magic bodylotion? 🙂
i’m not sure. no magic body lotion. it’s not unusual for me to shower 2-3x per day between teaching and my own personal workouts…and i take really hot showers. i’m sure it will be worse this winter once there is not as much humidity in the air.
where i really pay the toll for all the sweating and showers is on my face. constantly broken out!
That room looks so calm and relaxing. I’m sure I would end up sleeping through that class. 😛
pretty sure there’s no way you could sleep through my class! 😉 i only had them on the floor for less than 10 minutes at the end of class. the rest of the time they were moving!!!
now, long slow deep classes on the other hand are a different story. i can definitely fall asleep during those long holds.
So spill – which side of the cookie debate are you on? Soft or Crunchy?
Soft cookies all the way!
Love this post! I take 2 showers a day, one am one pm….how do you find time for 4!? You inspire me with BodyPump, I went again today…increased my weights a little! Going to be so sore tomorrow!
That sounds like the perfect Sunday to me as well. I wish my gym and yoga studio had that many classes to go to on Sunday’s. Great way to kick of the week 🙂
That egg sandwich looks divine! mmmm!
Agreed. Sounds like a perfect Sunday 🙂
You made me want to throw my planned workout out the window and settle for some chill yoga tonight. 🙂 By the way, I’m a soft cookie fan. The softer the better – actually, better yet just make it dough.
I absolutely love your blog. It’s one of my daily reads at work. Because of this blog, you’ve inspired me to try body pump. I do power yoga 5-6 mornings per week and spin/hike on weekends…I feel like I need more cardio though!
