It’s been a good weekend but I haven’t stopped moving so I’m just now checking in with you. My weekend has been full of CrossFit, teaching yoga, Ikea trips, house project, social gatherings…busy but good and fun busy. Today’s biggest accomplishment was assembling my first piece of Ikea furniture all by myself. Like using the wrenches and everything. It was pretty monumental.
Other Sunday highlights…
Teaching my 9:15 hot yoga class on a rainy and cold Sunday with a room full of people who I love. I can’t even express what that energy feels like but it’s the very best way to start a Sunday and a new week. I was so excited that my Brittany could finally make it for a class and brought along friends.
We all went to brunch after at Nolen Kitchen. The only thing I knew for sure was that I needed bacon and black coffee. It lived up to my expectations. Perfection! I also had an egg white omelet with spinach, apples and brie and mixed greens.
Saturday was a rest day (I’ve been needing more of them lately) so I was really ready to hit the gym today. I ran two easy miles on the treadmill and then did five rounds of sprints one minute on/one minute rest. For the minute on I ran at a 7:30 pace, 9:00 for the recovery.
Then this WOD that I quickly wrote out:
3 rounds for time
– 5 ring dips
– 10 pull ups (ring dips + pull ups to build muscle up strength)
– 15 back squats (because I just love to squat)
– 20 kettlebell swings (to drive the heart rate up)
It took me about 12 minutes to complete and felt great!
I had a get together tonight with all of the people I went on my yoga retreat with to view the photos taken on the trip. We were so lucky to have a professional photographer, Wanda Koch, with us on the retreat and she graciously took so many amazing pictures! While I was there I snacked on delicious cheeses, chicken, tofu, roasted veggies and some red wine.
Wanda was so sweet to send us all home with prints. I can’t wait to share the other pictures with you and also to finally write a resort review. Tonight’s party made me want to be back there so badly. Such an amazing trip!
Bed time. Have a great week!
What a beautiful photo! Can’t wait to see more of them.

Glad I am not the only one who loves to squat! I don’t do heavy weights, but love doing more endurance squatting. Keeps that booty looking fabulous! HA! I hope you frame some of the pictures from your vacation…reminder of a wonderful time…Stay warm and have a great Monday!
Awesome picture, I bet the rest are gorgeous as well!
Sweet Tea’s from Charlotte was featured on Food Network Restaurant Impossible last night. Have you eaten there? I wished I lived closer, I would love to try them.
Sounds like an awesome weekend!! Your omelet sounds delicious. Great combo.
