Happy Monday! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!
Final weekend update for you before we roll into the new week. I spent most of my Sunday at Y2 Yoga teaching the morning and afternoon 90-minute hot classes. Both were fabulous. I’m not sure what it is but some days the energy just feels right and nothing feels forced – yesterday was one of those days. I have to admit that sometimes I get a little jealous that I can’t practice when I have to teach multiple classes like that but although I missed the physical aspect of the practice yesterday, I definitely walked away from the classes having received the full mental benefit…does that make any sense at all?
I was surprised to see Caitlin walk in for the 9:15 and so happy to have her in class. Even if she hasn’t been practicing consistently, she is a natural yogi. I was especially pleased to walk into the changing room after class and discover this.
Pretty much the mark that “Caitlin was here.” 😉 A particularly hard-hitting Operation Beautiful note that was followed up by this touching post that I read to my 2:15 class. Sunday yoga is the best …the vibe is so good and it feels like everyone is on their mat with a purpose. Yoga love.
Brandon and I made brunch on my break between classes. Homemade blueberry waffles with maple syrup, Morningstar “sausage” and farmers market cantaloupe.
After my second hot class I came home, walked Sullie and whipped up this Baked Vidalia Onion Dip. Stay tuned for the recipe and a fun story about why I made it!
Dinner last night was simple but delicious. Grilled salmon (I have been craving it for weeks…it was perfection) with olive oil and Dizzy Pig Shakin’ the Tree, grilled zucchini and pattypan squash and a baked sweet potato with cinnamon and a dab of Smart Balance.
Back to work to tackle the rest of the afternoon – meetings and then teaching a yoga class after work. See y’all later!
What is ONE goal you have for the week? It can be life, fitness, nutrition related – whatever!
That waffle looks so freaking good.
My goal for the week is to approach all of my workouts with a positive attitude. Nothing hinders a run or yoga more than negative thoughts or a distant mind.
My goal for the week is to not get so stressed out. My life is pretty stressful with work and financial concerns it’s been affecting me in a bad way. I want to try and stay positive and optimistic not just for me but for my 4 little ones.
I have a small goal to make it to Friday and not be exhausted! The little things, right? 🙂
Your yoga day sounds great – glad you were able to reap those mental benefits! 🙂 One of my goals for the week is to run less and eat cleaner. Although I’m not training for anything I’ve been upping my mileage (I just love to run long!) but have noticed I’ve been eating more with more mileage. I’m hoping to simply eat cleaner this week – thanks for the reminder to actually verbalize it. 😀 Have a great week!
My goal is to workout at least 3x this week. This might not seem like a lot for many people but this is a big step for me. I have been a little “scared” to begin regular workouts since recovering from my ED. So…for the past 2.5 years I really have not exercised consistently at all (maybe a power walk or the ET machine a few times a month). I need to challenge myself to get back in the workout mentality in a healthy way…. for long life … not just for calorie burn which is what I focused on years ago. I have feared that I would become obsessed w/ working out again and I need to face this fear and just do something! Like Bonnie said… feels good to verbalize my goal!
My goal is to de-stress my life this week. I need to calm it down with the workouts and focus on getting my classroom ready because school starts next week!! ahhhh
My goal for the week is to actively live the message contained in the self esteem post you linked. I really needed to hear that. Thank you!
what a nice breath of encouragement. Wish I could have been there to support! I know your classes are amazing, like you.

I have a few goals this week, but one I’m really concentrating on is to get 5 strength workouts in – 2 upper and 2 lower body. I’m loving the definition I’m starting to see from them, but it’s hard, especially since my body isn’t getting stronger at quite the rate I’d like.
My goal this week is to really focus on treating others with kindness, my daughter especially. I want to really take more time to consider other peoples feelings and do small things to make their day better.
My goal is to study everyday and stick to my schedule… I am in grad school and my verbal comprehensive exam is within a month! Doing yoga to keep my anxiety down (and stretch out soreness from CrossFit) and breathing through it 🙂
Looks like a lovely weekend! I love how yoga just feels like nourishment for the soul. My ONE goal for this week is to get 7 hours + of sleep every single night. I’m running on 6 1/2 today and really feeling it.
