Thank you, thank you for the comments and Tweets congratulating me on the new yoga teaching gig. I am extremely excited and looking forward to teaching my first class at Y2 tomorrow. My name is on the schedule…it’s really happening!
I started my day at Y2 today for an ashtanga practice. One of the things I want to be careful about is not letting teaching compromise my personal practice.
It took me 45 minutes to drive the 5 miles to work from yoga due to crazy storms we had last night that knocked down trees and power lines. The streets were grid locked. It was not a fun commute, especially once I learned that I’d left my coffee at home. I swung into Starbucks to pick up a soy latte.
There was no way I was going without coffee! Overnight oats in an almost empty Fage container for breakfast.
I went home at lunch to grab BodyPump clothes for tonight and packed a quick lunch to take back to work.
This salad was awesome! Spinach, shredded cabbage, artichokes, sundried tomatoes, dried tropical fruit, feta and avocado with honey dijon lemon vinaigrette.
I subbed a BodyPump class for a friend after work, bringing my teaching count for the week to seven classes. I’m pretty sure that’s a record! This week I’m teaching three BodyPump classes, two yoga classes and two group strength classes. I’m teaching every day but Friday and twice on Sunday…whew!!!
I whipped up one of Brandon’s all-time favorites for dinner.
Chicken Parmesan – organic, free range chicken breasts breaded with goodness and topped with fresh mozzarella and organic marinara sauce. Barilla Plus spaghetti and ciabatta bread on the side.
It’s also one of Sullie’s favorite dinners!
Several years ago we introduced the “Super Noodle” to Sullie.
We tie together several spaghetti noodles to make one giant noodle. Sullie loves it!
We made a video of the super noodle in action when we lived in Birmingham so I will leave you with that! Sorry that it is sideways! ๐
Haha, love the video! We will have to do this with our retriever ๐ Good luck tomorrow!!
It is very entertaining! ๐
Phew, what a busy week indeed! Hope you find time to relax. ๐
That dinner looks so good. I love Barilla pastas.
you are always an inspiration!!
Janine
That video is HILARIOUS!! “Sullie want a noodle…?” Lol at Brandon!! ๐
Wow you’re teaching SEVEN classes this week?! That’s amazing!! Come to London and teach some soon, k? ๐
Um, YES PLEASE! I would love to visit! ๐
Chicken parmesan is a regular request from my boyfriend. It’s simple and satisfying. Enjoy all those classes!
Soy lattes are my favorite!
Best of luck today! I’m sure you’ll do great. I cant make it this week so hope you’ll be teaching again next week! Have fun ๐
I will be teaching every Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. and Sundays at 9:15 a.m. from now on! Permanent classes! ๐
Would LOVE to see you there!
Yay!! Count me in.
Good luck today! I can’t believe you’ve taught so much this week. I work pretty far from uptown (in Mooresville), but I’ll have to work out my schedule so I can attend one of your Y2 classes soon! What kind of classes are you teaching?
girl, your schedule is so busy i’m not sure how you even keep it straight! i was wondering if you’d consider doing a little lesson on homemade dressings?
definitely! great suggestion!
The super noodle! That’s so cute!! As is Sullie ๐
Can’t wait to hear how your first class goes- so exciting!
Good luck with the first Yoga class, i’m sure you totally rocked it!!!!
Hey, I love your blog! I am also a runner and although I am not injured I would like to keep it that way and start practicing yoga…I live in NYC so I have a lot of options available, including Bikram but I am pretty intimidated to start with those classes (All I know is that it is practiced in a hot room) Any suggestions on the best classes for beginners? Good luck with your teaching!
