I had a great Saturday but no time to slow down and post. It was pretty much full of my most favorite things – teaching yoga, taking yoga, hanging out with the pup, baking, shopping and drinks with friends.
My alarm went off at the very early hour of 6 a.m. since I had to sub the morning classes at Y2. I made a quick breakfast of a piece of the pumpkin banana bread with Justin’s Maple Almond Butter and banana slices.
The classes were amazing and I taught 88 yogis between the two! It was intensely hot in the studio yesterday (most likely due to it being really humid outside) and I could see my students giving their practice everything they had. I kept reminding them of this quote that I pinned last week, “If it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you.”
I was starving after I finished teaching. It felt like I was the one who had been practicing! I wanted to eat a lighter lunch because I was taking a master class from my favorite teacher a couple of hours later so I made a salad. That’s tofu on top.
Then I decided to bake cookies and drink an espresso. Perfect fuel for a two-hour yoga practice, right? I made oatmeal cookies with dark chocolate, dried cherries and coconut.
So while I sweated my life away in Suzanne’s master class at Charlotte Yoga, Sullie hung out at Bark Street and got bathed and groomed. I thought it would be fun to post a before and after of both of us! ๐
Before…I’m looking somewhat presentable. Sullie is looking a little rough. I can’t believe I caught her with one eye closed like this. So cute.
After…Sullie is the one looking good and I’m a sweaty disaster. My clothes were drenched. I spent five hours in 100-degree yoga studios over the course of the day! I would like to point out the cuteness level of Sullie’s feet. Notice in the before picture that they’re a little grinch-ish and then in the after picture they look like little marshmallows. I can’t stop smiling at her.
I had a few miscellaneous snacks after yoga (another cookie, a kombucha and some cheese and crackers) and went to the mall. I’ve been dying for a pair of black jeans and I finally found some at Gap.
I was out and about last night. My first stop was Jackalope Jack’s to meet up with the crew from Metro for drinks to celebrate a birthday. I am so lucky to be working with fun and awesome people! My second stop was Zink for drinks and apps with some yoga friends. I finally made it home around 11:30 and promptly collapsed into bed since I had to teach early this morning.
What adorable photos of both you and Sullie! Too cute. I’m in love with that top you have on. Where is it from? Looks similar to Lululemon’s Practice Freely tank. I adore your blog. : ) Enjoy the day!
it is the practice freely tank! i love it.
so happy to hear you enjoy my blog. thanks for reading! ๐
the sullie “winking” picture is priceless! that’s frame-worthy!

It’s a good thing you love to sweat! your job is perfect for you!
Aww I absolutely love goldens! I have one too and they are the sweetest doggies around! Looks like you had quite the productive Saturday…you inspire me so much! Where’s your cute husband lately? I haven’t heard you mention him in weeks! How is he adjusting to your crazy work schedule? I would love for you to do a post on how to balance work life and personal life!
so happy to hear from a fellow golden lover. they are seriously the best dogs. i can’t even stand how sweet sullie is.
i’ll definitely do a balance post at some point. it’s a request i’ve had before!
Sullie is SO cute! she is the kind of dog that makes me want to get one even though I’m a total cat lady ๐
she’s so personable and sweet! goldens are great dogs!
Love the clock plate. I took my pup for a long walk today and she is sleeping soundly.
Sullie is so cute! She is way more photogenic than my dog, who never sits still for a picture! I love that top you have on for yoga! Where is it from?
Sounds like a fun/busy day! It’s always a plus to find something you want at the mall!
Glad you had a great weekend!
I love crow pose! That picture made me smile! What Lulu shirt do you have on? Love it!!
You and Sadie are both adorable! And I love love love that tank. Hope your sushi was good tonight! xoxo
Jen,
Which program you use to edit pictures? I love those frames in “before” and “after” pictures!
i use picnik.com but unfortunately the site is shutting down in april. i’m so sad! i don’t know what i’m going to use after that!
What a pity!
We shall figure it something out. I let you know if I find sth worth recommending ๐
Thanks for your answer!
Have a lovely day ๐
Ok…your arms are just amazing! Have you always been thin and now you are just super fit and toned? Or have you ever had a weight problem?
Sullie’s paws…yes, ADORABLE!
I love your before and after pictures of you and Sullie. . I l-o-v-e my puppy’s paws after grooming – so cute and dainty!
i know – she’s too cute! i have never let them trim her paws before but i’m glad i did. so fluffy!
That cookie sounds like the perfect combination! Yum! ๐
I’m curious as to where your adorable husband is in all these posts1? I’ve been super interested in trying CrossFit too, but am too nervous to just do it. Do you have any pointers for how to suck it up and just try?!
I thought I was the only one who thought animal paws were adorable! Sometimes when I look at my cats paws I get so happy because they look so tiny and cute. Sullie is such a beauty. ๐ I’m not a big dog lover, but I do adore Goldies.
I love that you described Sullie’s feet as grinch-ish…they totally are in that pic! LOL And I was also going to ask about the tank but I saw you already answered that question ๐ very cute! And of course you still look great after a workout!
