Time for the annual round up of the year’s most popular posts! It’s always fun to run a report in Google Analytics for the entire year to see what posts made the list. It’s typically pretty heavy on recipes and workouts since those types of posts tend to stand the test of time. I was actually surprised to discover that 8 of the 10 top posts of the year were actually written in years past but have remained popular thanks to Pinterest and organic search. Because of this, I decided to share two top 10s with you…one for this year’s posts and one for all-time. Today I’m posting “written in 2015” and tomorrow I will post “all-time.”
Top 10 Popular Posts of 2015 (Written in 2015)
I was excited to see this recipe at the top of the list this year because it’s AMAZING! If you haven’t tried it yet, add it to the menu in the new year. I promise it’s super simple even if you’ve never ventured into homemade Thai food.
2) You Do You: The Relationship Edition
I was not surprised to see my engagement announcement coming in at number two this year. Thank you so much for sharing in my joy and for all of your love and support! I’ve received some questions about wedding plans so I’ll give you a quick update. There are none right now but the plan is to elope.
3) Peanut Butter Chia Seed Granola
I shared this recipe with a warning that I had made it four times in eight days. It’s so good and highly addictive! I was happy to receive Instagrams, Tweets and comments that you were as hooked on it as I was!
4) Resort Review: Majestic Colonial Punta Cana
I kicked off 2015 with a girl’s trip to Punta Cana where we stayed at an affordable all-inclusive, The Majestic Colonial Resort. I shared a full review of the resort including grounds, rooms, beach, food and more!
5) Ultimate Plank Challenge: A Plank a Day in May
I hosted a 30 day plank challenge in May to celebrate the release of my book, Ultimate Plank Fitness. It was a fun month of Facebook and Instagram posts and I was super pumped to have tons of friends, family and readers participating in the challenge!
6) 6 Drawbacks to Working in the Fitness, Freelance and Blogging Industries
I was happy to see this post get good traction because while this career is AMAZING and I wouldn’t trade it for anything, it’s also hard and demanding.
7) The At Home Tabata Workout That Rocked My World
If you are looking for a quick and effective at-home workout, this is the ticket. I have done it a few times now and it kicks my butt every time, leaving me drenched in sweat and feeling like jello all over. I actually think I may do this one again today (and my glutes will sing me songs about it tomorrow!). If you need more info on Tabata workouts, check out this post.
This is my favorite oatmeal recipe of all-time and a staple in our house.
9) An Ending
Again, thank you for your love and support. I can’t thank you enough for the kind comments and messages on this post. Can’t wait to see my grandmother in a few weeks!
10) Best Week of Workouts: Boot Camp, Circuit Training and a 5K
This was one of my best weeks of workouts all year! The post included this great circuit workout.
What were your favorite posts of 2015? What are your favorite types of posts?
In the next month or so I will be posting a formal survey to get your thoughts on many things but please feel free to chime in today if there’s anything you want to see more of in 2016! I’m doing lots of planning right now.
Hi Jen! A lot of great posts this year from you! I particularly enjoyed your take on working in the fitness industry, because it totally related to me and my situation! 🙂 Eloping? Really? Cool! Have a great day, lady!
Thank you!! I’m glad it resonated!
I love your pb chia granola — need to make it again!
I’m so glad you liked it!!
Love your blog!! I would love to hear any ways you save time during your day, like little short cuts or ways you “multi task.” Also since you travel a lot, packing tips? Oh and I love your recipes and your dinners always look so good so if you ever posted a meal plan from the past week with a grocery list I know if appreciate it! Thank you so much, Jen!!
I second this! I love your “What I ate” posts and your dinners really do always look amazing. A menu plan with grocery lists would be fabulous! Oh yeah – I do love your grocery haul posts as well 🙂
That’s awesome feedback!! Thank you! I will definitely consider for future posts.
I loved reading about your running and training plans. I know it was awhile back but what was the half marathon template that you used? You said it broke down exactly what speeds and time you should be training to complete your half in under 1:45 (nice job on the PR BTW!!) anyways I can’t find the smart coach anymore. Do you still have the workout program?
So fun to see this list! I actually made pad thai tonight. I will have to check out your recipe! Always thankful for your blog and I’m lucky for our friendship in 2015 and that I get to ring in the New Year with you 🙂
What a great year! I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog!
Thank you!
Making your Pad Thai tomorrow night for our NYE dinner! Can’t wait! I’ve been wanting to try this one out for awhile.
I hope it was a hit!
