I received a question on my last post about whether I’m a crunchy or soft cookie fan.
I am 100% in the soft cookie camp. My dad started me on this young. He made the best chocolate chip cookies and always under baked them.
Although I must agree with Tiff that cookie dough is also delicious and the highlight of baking homemade cookies.
Mmm….cookies. Which side are you on – crunchy or soft cookies? Random side note, although I love soft cookies, I also love frozen chocolate chip cookies right out of the freezer. Weird, I know. Don’t knock it ’til you try it! ๐
Okay, so I’ve eaten things other than cookies over the last few days (although we just polished off the last of the cookies I made Sunday!).
Dinner Monday night was cajun tilapia with roasted sweet potatoes and roasted broccoli.
Breakfast today after teaching a vinyasa flow class was overnight oats in a TJs peanut butter jar. In the mix was oats, cinnamon, dried cranberries, chia seeds, apple, banana, Greek yogurt and almond milk. I swirled a little pumpkin butter on top.
Lunch was a tofu sandwich with tomato, spinach and smoked gouda. Carrots and Kettle Chips on the side.
And finally, dinner tonight was pasta with vodka sauce. We have been on quite the pasta kick lately, huh? Brandon and I had a discussion that Italian is probably our favorite cuisine because it includes pizza and pasta…which clearly we eat a lot of. ๐
Time to write a guest post and prep for tomorrow morning’s yoga class. Hope y’all are having a wonderful week.
soft, undercooked, and licking the bowl while they bake.
just my style!
Soft cookies are without a doubt the best!
Soft all the way ๐
Chewy all the way! I remember in high school they had a snack cart with the chewy chocolate chip cookies for like 60-cents each. To die for!
underbaked all the way!
I’m with ya–definitely soft cookies!
soft cookies for sure girl!! soooo with you.
Both! I love all cookies!
the dough, soft under cooked, and frozen cookie dough in my yogurt…..
Soft cookies all the way! I love cookie dough and I’ve been dying to make some of the “safe to eat” aka egg free cookie dough dips for a party…too bad I don’t have any party to make it for yet!
oooohhh i have see those dips. they look so good! let me know if you try a good one.
any results on the heart rate monitor and hot yoga? I just started hot yoga and LOVE it and sweat tons – i’m so curious about calories burned with exercise. Thanks! Peace and Light
mary frances – stay tuned…it’s turning into a bit of a bigger project. i’m trying to capture data from a variety of practices/class styles and having some friends do the same. i will do a big post in a few weeks about it!
i was JUST coming on to ask this!! kind of getting tired of my coworkers stating that hot vinyasa isn’t a legitimate workout/calorie burner. maybe the days that i crap out and lay on my mat…but most days it’s exhausting. my polar watch for my hrm won’t turn on so i can’t test it out myself! can’t wait for the post!
kate – have your co-workers come to our version of hot vinyasa!? it’s much more workout-centric than traditional vinyasa flow classes. i know for a fact that my heart rate gets up!
i will get the post up in the next few weeks!
oh and thank you for coming to class this morning! your practice was so strong!
Thanks so much Jen!!!! I love your blog. I live in Telluride, CO and grew up in Landis, NC (outside of Charlotte) and it makes me feel warm and fuzzy hearing you talk of NC.
I love soft cookies, but the crunchy ones are so good if you dip them in some almond milk for a few seconds. Yum!
The tofu sandwich you made looks incredible! I haven’t had gouda in so long and I’m not sure why since it’s so delicious.
i love tofu sandwiches! i don’t buy gouda often but it’s one of my faves!
SOFT. Hands down! Add a touch of sea salt and I have no self control :(.
clara – i have always loved slightly salty baked goods. i love to add an extra pinch of salt to my chocolate chip cookies. mmmm
I like making really big cookies so the edges are crispy and the middle is soft. Add a glass of milk and I’m a happy girl!
ohhh the best of both worlds! i like your style! ๐
Almost DOUGHY cookies are my favorites! However, when I hit up Whole Foods, I often go for their vegan pb cookie… it has crispy edges and the CHEWIEST center — so delicious!
jenny – agreed. there is something to be said for chewy cookies too! especially with peanut butter cookies! ๐
Soft and completely undercooked for sure! I’ve always eaten them underbaked and love it!
On another note, THANK YOU for leading such a wonderful class this morning. What a perfect way to start the day! ๐
I’m in the same boat as you—soft cookies but I love them frozen as well! ๐
can you pleaseeeee cook me these meals! they look amazing!! ant TOTALLYY a soft, undercooked cookie ๐ cant get any better than that!
I am definitely all about the soft cookie. I don’t like it when they get crunchy and then crumbly. Too much to clean up afterwards.
Soft / under-baked cookies all the way! Though, Tates Bakeshop from my hometown makes THE best thin crispy cookies.
I keep chocolate chips in the freezer but haven’t tried cookies yet.
eat them frozen! you’ll love it!
Soft cookies all the way! Especially right out of the oven when the chocolate chips are all melty!
