Not gonna lie, I had a little bit of a sugar hangover from my cookie dinner last night. My stomach was definitely not feeling so great this morning. I think two nights in a row of party food instead of real food wasn’t the smartest thing. Oh well, tis the season and like I let it stop me from eating the cookies that I brought home after lunch today… ๐
Breakfast bright and early at my desk was overnight oats. I had to turn in payroll early this pay period due to the Christmas holiday and I wanted to get it knocked out first thing. I used Dorset Museli as my “oats” base. I picked up a box at the grocery this week and I’m really liking it mixed in with Greek yogurt.
I had to run errands this afternoon and Charlotte is a complete stressful holiday zoo. Traffic is terrible and all the parking lots are full. I had to practice lots of yoga breathing. It’s partially my fault for waiting until the last minute to do everything so I can’t complain too much! Luckily, I came home to find a giant box on my doorstep from Blue Diamond with all the almonds a girl could possibly want.
Lunch was a turkey avocado pita with tomato soup.
While I was eating my Christmas gifts arrived. I’ll be spoiling the surprise for some but this book is just too good not to share. Read it now.
Oh and I did a little Christmas shopping for myself today. I swung by Erin McDermott’s studio to pick up a special gift for a family member when I spotted these. Merry Christmas to me!
Have a wonderful weekend! And do a little something to treat yourself! ๐
Your new earrings are so perfect!! I love them-they’re so cute. I got myself a Christmas present when I was shopping for my family too-oops. Hey I think it is nice to treat yourself once in awhile ๐ I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Enjoy that amazing gift basket too
Given the insane amount of deliciousness you encountered last night, I think a sugar hangover was practically inevitable. ‘Tis the season indeed! ๐
That book looks really fascinating…Definitely putting it on my “To Read” list!
Ditto over here for the sugar hangover. I knew it was bad when I kept eating cookies after an epic day of cookie baking, which included double batches of four kinds of cookies. Beautiful basket! I love almonds, do you ever make almond milk? It’s really easy and so much healthier (and tastier) than store bought. I made a fresh batch and made it into “egg nog.” I looked at lots of recipes for it and came up with my favorite. I thought it would be more like a banana smoothie, but it was frighteningly delicious and like real nog. If you or anybody else is interested I’d love to share my personal recipes ๐
loved seeing you today! looking forward to getting together in the new year! have a great holiday and thanks for inspiring so many people (like me!)
I looked at the necklaces on Erin’s website when you did the gave away a few months back and did not forget about them when my husband asked for a gift idea for me. I told him I wanted the Hadley necklace and my fingers are crossed (actually, if he doesn’t get them for me, I will just buy them myself!).
Anyway, those earrings are gorgeous!!
Very pretty earrings and what a nice Christmas present to yourself! I think giving yourself jewelry is a beautiful gift. Now you have got me thinking…I’m going to do some online shopping and see what I can come up with. HA! Have a beautiful weekend! XOXO
So I’m in Charlotte for Christmas, any recommendations for yoga tomorrow or Monday? Appreciate it!
Super cute earrings! And love the holiday look for the blog!
Love those earrings!! I need to make a stop by this store after the holidays!
