I hope your new year is off to a wonderful start. Before we get too far into 2016, here’s a photo recap of New Year’s Weekend from my iPhone.
BREAKING NEWS: the sun finally broke through the clouds and made its way out again. That alone was enough to make the new year happy for me!
NYE fuel. Cappuccino date with a girlfriend at Cafe Monte before getting ready for the night.
All dressed up. The original plan was to host a New Year’s Eve twilight flow class at the studio but we cancelled for a few reasons. We ended up going out to dinner with two friends at Blue Taj.
It was an Indian feast!
We were home by midnight (which was our goal…we both had to teach early on NYD) but it was a fun night.
New Year’s Day pajama brunch at a friends house.
Hashbrown and egg and sausage casserole, brussles sprouts salad, grapes and a scone (x2! had to sample the chocolate chip ones too!).
Lazy pups.
They love to lay at the front door. And they love each other!
Then and now. Crazy, right? What a difference a year makes!
We went to see Sisters on Saturday night. It was easy to watch and cute although the humor was a little over the top ridiculous at times but that’s the case with most of these movies. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler work so well together and are always fun to watch.
I ended the weekend with multiple food shopping trips to restock the fridge, freezer and pantry full of healthy and clean food. I hit the farmers market, Whole Foods and ALDI. It was an investment but a worthwhile one to get back to normal.
Off to teach hot yoga. It’s January in the fitness industry which is like Christmas all over again! 🙂
Did you see any movies over the holidays?
Were you home by midnight, asleep by midnght or still out ringing in the new year?
Sisters looked funny! I don’t normally go for those kind of comedies but I’d see that one. We watched The Intern over break at the theatre. We have a super cheap theater around he corner that shows movies a few months out. Perfect date night! 🙂
That’s awesome! I’ve heard good things about The Intern!
Thank you for a lovely recap, reading it was an uplifting start to my day 🙂 I recently saw ‘Man from U.N.C.L.E’ and it was really good. Surprisingly so, fun and easy to watch. Another good one is ‘The Holiday’, a romcom with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. Btw. thank you for the recommendation for ‘Inside Out’ it’s my favourite movie at the moment. Puppies look so happy together. Makes me impatient to get my dog a little doggie friend to. I hope you have a wonderful 2016!
Thanks! I love The Holiday! I’m so glad you liked Inside Out. Definitely one of my favorites too.
Pajama brunch! That’s so fun 😉
I was alone so I just went to sleep at like 8:30. I woke-up at 12:45 and way just kinda…o well…hahahaha!
Haha! Pajama brunch was the definitely the perfect way to start New Years Day!
Looks like a great weekend. I love the NYE outfit you put together. So sharp!
I had to do a big grocery run to get back on track too. Way to many sweets in the house!!
Hope you are having a great week!
Thank you!!
we had an easy new years day – my husband had to work a HALF day on NYE, so i went with him (to sevierville, TN) and then we went to lunch at Paula Deen’s – SO amazing – and then to Dollywood to see Christmas lights! We were home by 7:30 and I made drunken pasta (also quite tasty) and we were in bed early – i didnt teach on NYD, but we ran the Calhouns New Years Day 5k! i cant run as fast as you, but im getting there!
Yum!! Sounds like so much fun!
Looks like a super fun NY!! I love the idea of a pajama brunch 🙂
It was perfect after teaching first thing in the morning!
We saw Daddy’s Home the other night with Will Ferrell and Mark Walberg, it was really cute! I want to see that sisters one but didn’t think it was appropriate for my son lol. Happy New Year!
Haha! Probably not. I need to out Daddy’s Home on the list to see next!
I enjoyed a very peaceful evening at home on NYE with Lucy and we were in bed asleep I think at 10:00 PM. I was a little under the weather, so it was nice to just relax, sleep, and catch up on projects. I am ready to go out though and have some fun…And yeah for sunshine!
Glad you’re feeling better! It sounds like a low key New Years was what a lot of people needed this year!
