Thanks for all the input on the paint. I realized that I was having a temporary bout of insanity when I considered painting the bedroom green. I don’t even like the color green. Why would I do that? Today has taken me in a whole new direction…currently considering Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray or Benjamin Moore Reverie Gray. Both are more “greige” colors. I’ve also received some great suggestions on Twitter for similar shades to try. In the meantime, my painter is wondering if I will EVER make up my mind. ๐
Let’s take a break from paint and talk food. Last night’s dinner was so delicious. Parmesan and panko crusted tilapia with herb roasted potatoes and roasted asparagus. Warm sourdough with butter on the side. Mmm…How’s that for getting back to cooking?
Breakfast this morning was courtesy of Starbucks between taking and teaching yoga. I had the monterey veggie egg sandwich. I don’t eat these often but they are really good. I mean, how can melty cheese and egg on soft warm bread ever be bad?
I LOVED starting my week by taking and teaching early yoga. I subbed a class and it was perfect to get a practice in and then have the opportunity to give back to others by leading them through practice. I felt so energized and happy when I left the studio and headed into work.
I did a little CrossFit after I taught deep stretch at the gym tonight. It looked like a good cardio workout and it was. (AMRAP = as many reps as possible)
I was able to finish three rounds of the pushups/pullups + 5 pushups, four rounds of the ball slams and box jumps and four rounds of the ab mat situps/burpees + 2 situps.
Sullie cheered me on and said, “more burpees mom!”
Hope you guys had a great Monday!
You’ve been doing/eating all of my favorite things! Tilapia, asparagus, eggs, and Burpees!! ๐
Your dog is literally perfect. How in the world did you train her so well?
Dying over that tilapia. ๐
haha – that was a staged photo. she wanted to run around like a wild woman. ๐
How do you get the panko to stick to the tilapia? Mine always ends up a hot mess!
i do a a triple coat – flour, egg wash and then breadcrumbs. this method has worked for me for years!
I love the Starbucks breakfast sandwiches! I used to get them on my way to class all the time. The home-cooked dinner looks way better though ๐
Mmmm, the tilapia looks delicious!
We used Sherwin-Williams paint. It is a good thick paint that covers nicely.
Love Sullie!
And burpees!
yeah, i’ve always used behr in the past. i just bought some benjamin moore for the living and hall and couldn’t believe how expensive it was!
I’m a Sherwin-Williams girl all the way. When we were painting our house the people there knew me by name because it took me forever to decide on colors. I love the quality, but also I had a Benjamin Moore color I loved but was too expensive so they made a color based on the swatch. LOVE them! Good luck.
benjamin moore is CRAZY expensive.
Glad that you are figuring out the whole paint thing ๐ That tilapia looks delish, and I totally think that starting my day with yoga is sooo energizing and makes me focused for the remainder of the day. I need to do it more often!!
i think to say i’m figuring it out is a little ambitious! it’s so overwhelming.
I recently started working at a dog friendly office and I am LOVING it. Looking at those cute faces is an instant stress reliever.
Sullie looks right at home!!!!
That tilapia looks amazing! How do you get all the coating to stay on while you pan fry it?
i do a triple coat…flour, then egg wash, then breadcrumbs. this is how i do anything with a breadcrumb coating.
hey jen, i really like your blog but i gotta say, i’m a little disappointed you didn’t recognize veterans day on your blog. i’m sure it wasn’t on purpose, but dont those who serve and defend our country deserve at least a shout out on Veterans day?
hey emily – thanks for the comment and for reading. i did not intentionally not mention veteran’s day…i just can’t recognize every holiday/special day and no matter how i do it, someone doesn’t agree so it’s easier just not to sometimes. i did talk about it in my yoga classes and recognize the servicemen who were in my class, my mother has been an employee of the V.A. hospital for 20 years, i have family who served…i do appreciate the importance of the day.
I’ll occassionally grab one of these sandwhiches on the run and they really are good!
Hey Jen – we just finished painting and had Sherwin Williams match Benjamin Moore’s Cumulus Cloud – it is an AWESOME gray!! They used HGTV brand that already had primer in it – so 1/2 the work. I painted FOUR rooms this color and love it!
thank you! i checked it out today. love!
