This week has been a beautiful blur.
I have spent a ton of time in the studio both teaching and practicing. I took an extended break from my practice over the summer and into the fall and it feels so good and so right to be back to it. The energy at the studio with the launch of our new schedule has been really amazing and I just want to be there all the time. I’ve been meeting tons of new yogis and seeing lots of familiar faces. This week has BLOWN our expectations and more. My heart is happy. I’m exactly where I am supposed to be.
It’s been a “maximum go mode week” that has required the double fisting of kombucha and coffee (I joked on Instagram that I’m a walking yoga teacher stereotype). I think I’ve averaged 1-2 shots of espresso + 2 cups of coffee per day. No coffee, no prana! 🙂
And Sullie’s like, “Mom, do what you’ve gotta do…just don’t wake me up early.” Girl loves her sleep.
I received multiple requests to share my playlist from last weekend’s yoga classes. It’s a mix of old and new favorites and my students loved it.
Gosh, where do I even start with my top picks here? I love them all. Download them all! I will say that it was fun to see how many people loved the Nelly addition to the playlist and were singing along/requesting more.
Just a quick update for you tonight. It’s late and I need to get to bed. I have a big day tomorrow including lots of training, teaching and the start of photography for the yoga book.
What’s your favorite coffee drink? Any favorite songs?
Hey Jen,
Love the blog! Just wanted to let you know there’s a guy’s pic instead of yours in the past couple subscription emails Ive gotten from your blog!
Keep being so inspiring 🙂
Such great and exciting times for you! fyi….there is a pic of a man in the box where your photo usually is……
Jen
Love your blog. I look forward to reading everyday. You keep me motivated.
Sounds like the best kind of busy! Wish I could taken yoga class form you, Jen! Seattle is just a little far, no? 🙂
Cold brew is my fave, especially with Stumptown coffee beans. Tastes like summer.
Right now ALL the Venti Dark Roasts from Starbucks! I need my coffee black, strong, and caffeinated 😉 Plus I am loving the Red Cups!
I can’t get enough cups of coffee this week. I am trying to alternate with tea but it’s not the same. I am obsessed at the moment with Gloria Jean’s Brown Sugar Cake k-cups. So good!
I’m so excited for you and your new journey. I am embarking on a new journey myself and nervous but excited all at once. Keep being YOU!
Thank you for the playlist update! I love seeing these and immediately download 🙂
New song I’m currently loving is Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde that’s featured on the new Mockingjay soundtrack. There’s just something about it that I can listen to over and over. And I’m currently switching back and forth during the day between coffee and Earl Grey tea, so I hear you on the caffeination! 🙂
Totally reasonable to be double fisting kombucha and coffee, I do it regularly 🙂 Favorite coffee drink would have to be an americano no doubt. Solid yoga playlist going on there, one of my favorite songs to practice to is “Clair De Lune” by Flight Facilities feat. Christine Hoberg!
Ooops commented on the wrong post- I have been a long time reader and I keep meaning to comment that your yoga classes sound like my DREAM! I live in NYC and shockingly I have not found a heated power vinyasa studio with good music (your playlists are exactly what i’m looking for!) I guess I’ll have to make my way down to Charlotte at some point!
yay for happy hearts!
Please please pretty please get spotify!!!
Wow! Everything is just PERFECT! So happy for you, you deserve it!!!
I’ve always loved “Breathe Me” by Sia bug hadn’t heard this remix! Fave coffee drink – 1/2 toffee nut and hazelnut latte… Preferably iced!
Awesome playlist – it’s always fun when you post a song and I’ll fall in love with the song and then i’ll fall in love with the whole band or artist. This happened with The National. I’ve also been a fan for years of Alexi Murdoch – All of my Days. My husband and I walked down the isle to that song when we got married. I also like Neil Halstead (full moon rising) and Darden Smith (perfect moment).
