Today has been a good day.
Started with an early morning ashtanga practice followed by a peanut butter and jelly smoothie and a yoga private with my amazing client who touched his toes with straight legs this week for the first time since his teenage years. Happy heart.
Peanut butter and jelly smoothie = peanut butter, blueberries, banana and soy milk. Mmm…..
The remainder of my day was pretty food- and fun-centric, which is fine with me! 😉
I met one of my yoga students for lunch to discuss teacher training. I started with roasted red pepper soup.
And then had a salad with mixed greens, candied pecans, gorgonzola, dried cranberries and champagne vinaigrette. I would like to declare my love here and now for candied pecans. Totally made the salad.
After lunch I got together with a friend that I went through teacher training with to review assisting with her so she can start helping in some classes. She was so sweet to bring me a venti (venti!) soy latte and a mini chocolate peanut butter cupcake. To say that I was pretty wound up for my 3:30 personal training client would be an understatement. 😉
We had tickets to see The Civil Wars tonight with my sister in law and her fiancé. We went out for dinner and drinks at The Dandelion Market before the show. Please take a moment to appreciate the size of the water glass v. the beer. Haha.
We ordered a bunch of small plates…mozzarella flatbread, calamari, artichoke red pepper dip, grilled wings, stuffed poblano pepper and fried pickles. I was stuffed after all this food but it was so good!
The show was at the McGlohon Theatre which is an incredible and beautiful small venue here in town.
We had third row seats in the middle of the theatre! If you haven’t listed to The Civil Wars, you must. They are one of my most favorite new bands from the last year. This is the second time we’ve seen them (we saw them back in February) and they were just as wonderful this time around.
Crashing. Hope it’s been a good day for you too.
You look gorgeous! Thanks for the band recommendation–I’ve heard of them, but never listened to their stuff. I’m totally going to now!
What water glass? Oh, you mean the shot glass? I seriously thought it was a shot of liquor.
All that food looks delicious… especially the beer! I can’t remember the last time I went to an actual concert. I must be getting old. 🙂
Mmm, soy lattes from Starbucks are one of my all-time favorites! So simple yet so delicious.
Sounds like a great day! I wish we had a cool smoothie place like that with awesome flavors. And congrats to your student for touching his toes! I’m still working on that too 🙂
New obsession – roasted red pepper soup! If you have a good homemade recipe, please share! Love the Civil Wars! I was surprised w/ a ticket to their sold-out show at Workplay back in the spring. So so good! I took a million pictures of John Paul. 🙂 Happy Friday!
sounds like a fabulous day!

I am SO jealous!!! I had tickets to see them last night and my son got sick so we couldn’t go :(. I bet it was incredible; they are an amazing duo!
