Last night I took the night off from blogging on Peanut Butter Runner. Bakin’ and Eggs was feeling neglected (it had been a week since my last update!) so I updated my food blog with these amazing (seriously, make them NOW) Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars. I had been going nonstop for days and really wanted to clean, hang out on the couch and catch up with my Google Reader.
I was so tempted to skip my planned run yesterday but I knew it was one of those days that I needed to power through. Sometimes I just know that if I can get the workout done I will have tons of energy and feel better. That was definitely the case last night. I ran 2.9 miles in 27 minutes in 97 degree heat. Fun times.
Yesterday’s eats included…
A pita sandwich with hummus, spinach, cucumbers, sundried tomatoes and goat cheese, half of an apple and a few Kashi crackers.
Leftover tofu stir fry over brown rice.
And then I may or may not have had an unpictured bowl of ice cream with Reese’s cup and chocolate syrup. I was blogging about peanut butter and chocolate, don’t judge! Causes cravings!
This morning I subbed a BodyPump class before work. I wasn’t able to get a shot of lunch because I had a client lunch and have to draw the line somewhere. I really wanted a veggie burger (the place we ate makes them homemade) but I knew it would be an extremely messy choice so I ordered a veggie burger over salad greens. It was delicious except for the bacon the restaurant added to the salad. Why? Please explain to me the logic of adding bacon to a salad when someone is ordering a veggie burger? And it was chopped so tiny I couldn’t pick it out. Ugh.
I was so excited about my after work plans – happy hour with Genevieve and Lelia at Nolen Kitchen. We’re all friends on Twitter. I met Genevieve last winter but had not met Lelia. We have so much in common – both UGA grads, same major, lots of friends in common, just bought houses close to each other – I can’t believe our paths haven’t crossed before now. I really felt like I already knew her! It was a great evening full of great conversation.
I didn’t have much of an appetite when I got home but knew I needed to eat something. I am not a meal skipper and have a workout planned before breakfast tomorrow. I whipped up a quick egg and some toast.
YOGA in the morning!!!, work and then heading to Georgia to visit my grandmother. Can’t wait!
Are you friends with anyone through blogs/Twitter that you feel like you know in real life?
Aww, it was so much fun! I’m glad we finally met IRL. 😉 Can’t wait to get together again soon!
I got the cleaning bug last night too! I was literally scrubbing my tub and mopping floors at 11:30 🙂 PS. I love Nolen Kitchen, so yum.
Tell your Grandmother I said hello! She is such a sweet lady!
