I have a video post for you tonight. Apologies for the wet hair and lack of makeup but this is how we roll on Friday and it’s all authenticity, right? 🙂
Here’s what’s covered…
– What to do when the scale won’t budge
– Favorite workout undergarments
– Holiday food and workout balance
– Mixing cardio in with strength training
And much more!
Have a great weekend!
Awesome and super helpful blog post tonight Jen! Thank you for answering my question (Erika) as well. I think Charlotte is an area that I would really enjoy. I am looking for a warm, healthy, and caring city that I can grow into. You are such an inspiration and I hope that all your goals are falling into place. Have a great weekend!
thanks so much erika! happy to answer your question!
Such a great post. I especially found the discussion of your dietary changes helpful. It is amazing how when we dare to change things up, the difference they can make in our lives. So often we just listen to our head (that says I want to be vegan or vegetarian or paleo, etc), instead of listening to our bodies and how they feel eating certain foods.
i totally agree ashley. it’s been game changing for me to realize i can eat what makes me feel good and not whatever the latest crossfit/blog trend is.
Thanks for sharing, Jen!! 🙂
Love the video posts! Looking forward to all your future career changes!
These were great topics, I love the video posts!
Love the video post Jen! Thank you for taking the time to put your thoughts on video. Enjoy your weekend away! Girlfriends + wineries + brunches make for a fabulous weekend! 🙂
thanks heidi!
Woohoo for Asheville this weekend. French Broad has been instagramming all of their seasonal cakes and desserts lately. I need a good fix soon. Nothing like a good hike, brunch, chocolate, and Curate. Mmmm. Enjoy!
Oh, and yes we have exploded a bit more in the restaurant scene here in chs vs Charlotte. There seems to be a new one pooping up each week!
how do i not follow them on instagram!? thanks for the heads up. and curate…yes. so good!
I meant popping up. Darn autocorrect.
Thanks for answering my question about holiday treats! I agree that hitting the workouts extra hard is a good way to balance it all out! Plus I feel crappy when I eat crappy food so remembering that helps me stay on track a bit too!
So glad I checked out this video blog–so cool and helpful. This is SUCH a random question, but in the spirit of questions, I always wonder what bread I should keep on hands to make sandwiches (for lunch and things like that)–any suggestions for go-tos/your favorites and where you get them?
hey maggie – thanks for checking out the video post. glad you liked it. as far as bread goes, i typically keep a sourdough or a whole wheat/grain bread on hand from a local bakery. i try not to buy prepackaged grocery store bread because i just love the homemade bakery stuff so much!
Hope you’ve had a great weekend here in the hills! I was downtown yesterday afternoon, I didn’t see this till now or I would have kept an eye out for you! Safe travels back home to CLT.
it was such a quick trip but we had a great time! stayed at the ALOFT and ate at limone’s for the first time. and of course hit up minx!
ah, my favorite restaurant and my favorite store! glad you found limones! sounds like ALOFT was good, too, have been wondering if the rooms are nice, etc. we’ve been there a couple of times for drinks on the balcony but never beyond the bar.
I agree 100% about the great yoga studios in Charlotte. My friend and I were just discussing how he cannot find a studio in DC or NYC that is as good as any he has been in Charlotte. But Charlotte’s studios are mor expensive as well – which is interesting.
Doing a video blog was so much fun for me as a reader-love the different approach for a Friday and hearing a voice/seeing a face! And really appreciate the input about Charlotte. I’m dying to move south and if me and my man break it off because the Army I’m looking into the Carolinas! I need to get back to school for some sort of Masters program so I can fulfill my dream of managing a fitness center! Working on my PT certification now—baby steps! =)
karla – so happy to hear that you enjoyed it. let me know if you ever want to talk about CLT! good luck on your PT cert!
