Happy Monday! I’m over here battling delayed onset soreness from Saturday’s workout that is so bad that my yoga practice this morning consisted of me taking the few chaturangas I did decide to do on my knees, no handstands, no backbends, no arm balances…nadda. I did feel better after I did some stretching in the heat though. My other Monday highlight has been finally getting my AC repaired after three service calls and a hefty (but not worst case) bill. I’m so happy to finally have it fixed though. Sullie was threatening to move out on me. She’s shedding like CRAZY. Sullie requires fully functioning, arctic cold AC during the summer. ๐
I had a summery dinner last night. Blue cheese burgers with leftover risotto and roasted asparagus.
Post-yoga breakfast this morning was scrambled eggs with avocado and watermelon.
And now…I have a fun giveaway to brighten up your Monday! The team from Violet Love sent me a package with headbands for me to test and to share with a reader!
Violet Love headbands are designed by Rebecca Michaels and promise no slipping and no headaches. I was really impressed by the selection of colors and prints that they offer. I had a hard time narrowing down what styles I wanted to test but I ended up with the four above. I have to disclose that I’m not a huge headband wearer but I could not resist these bright and stylish headbands. When I do wear them it’s usually for yoga to keep my crazy hair under control. I really never wear them for running or CrossFit.
I decided to keep the orange and aqua for myself. The orange was a no-brainer for me given the amount I have to wear for work. I wore the patterned headband to yoga last week and received so many compliments on it.
I gave the teal a test drive in another super hot and sweaty yoga class on Saturday. I’m very excited to report that I didn’t spend the entire class fumbling with the headbands and they didn’t cause any discomfort. I forgot that I was even wearing them!
Now, who wants the purple and other patterned headband? Leave a comment telling me about your strategy for keeping your hair under control when you workout and I’ll choose a winner at random on Wednesday! Giveaway closes Tuesday at midnight. U.S only.
I’d so love one!! With my bangs a good headband is essential!!
Considering my hair is shorter now and with all the frizz from the humidity – this would be great keeping all those little fly aways off my face and out of my eyes ๐
I’d love one! I go with a basic pony tail and bobby pins!
I must have headbands on for every workout or I get little fine hairs falling out! I have just gotten used to how cute they look on, too. I would love to try these out! ๐
My method of keeping my crazy fly-aways under-control is with lots and lots of bobby pins!
I would LOVE one! ๐ With my fine hair and curls, headbands are essential! They also are perfect for yoga when I don’t want to put my hair in a ponytail but still want to keep it back and out of the way!
These are gorgeous! I chopped my locks recently so no more ponies or buns. But I need a big headband that will contain my unmanageable main while I lift, spin and yoga. Plus, purple is my fave! I’m an appreciative soul to boot and would be grateful.
I love the patterned headband in the first pic! I use Goody non-slip headbands to keep my frizzy hair at bay during summer workouts.
I love headbands and wear them all the time! When I workout I wear my long long hair in a pony or bun and then always wear a head band to keep back fly always! (plus some clips to keep back other pieces).
This are so cute!! I have to bobby pin other headbands in my hair because I can’t find one that doesn’t slip. I have been looking for a wider headband to try!
I’d love one of these! I currently use a visor to keep my hair under control when running, but the headbands I wear to the gym fall off my head ALL the time!
I usually go with a braid or ponytail for yoga. I’ve tried lululemon headbands, but they always slip off. I need a headband that stays on because my flyaways make me look like a lion after about two minutes in the humid studio!
oh man, I have long hair for the first time in my life and it can really affect my workouts if I don’t take the time to control it… usually, I put it up in a big ponytail with 2 or 3 hair-ties, sometimes I braid it, and on occasion I add a headband in the mix. I think one of these would be so helpful!!
I usually use BIC bands. I just cut bangs today, so I have to change my strategy. We’ll see….
I have a handful of bondi bands and athlete headbands. Not only do they keep my flyaways and layers under control but I sweat like crazy. My trainer actually made me a necklace that says “illuminate” in a nice way of putting it nod to my infamous sweating. ๐ I’m always looking for the next best (cute!) headband.
I usually try to braid my shortest layers into the next layer and then up into a ponytail, but covering them up and pulled back with a new headband would be fabulous! Thanks for the giveaway!
I love headbands but often have the problem with them giving me headaches. I would wear them doing strength, playing frisbee and just to wear around.
I use bobby pins, but they hurt during handstand! I’d love to try a headband!
I always wear a headband because my hair goes crazy without one! The orange pattern is so pretty!
During yoga I use elastic bands, clips and sometimes headbands but they ALWAYS slip off! I would LOVE one of these! I just got a Lulu purple sports bra so purple would be perfect!
I recently cut my hair just above my shoulders and did the angled bob look. When running or doing my boot camp classes, I usually braid my bangs down the side of my face before I pull my hair up so they don’t fall in my sweaty face during a workout. These look like they would work great!
I ALWAYS use headbands when I workout so my bangs don’t fall in my face! I’d love the purple one ๐
These are adorable! I have had my share of headbands. From Lulu to Goody no slip grip, I haven’t found one that I do not fidget with ๐ I usually grab pre-wrap at my box to throw back and whispys but other than that I am still on a search for a solution!!!!
oh gosh. a strategy? I just throw my hair up in a ponytail if I’m running, and a bun if I do anything else. Most of the time it creeps me out when the end of my ponytail gets all sweaty.. Ew!
I am growing out a pixie and am at the “cheek-length” bob stage (which is as goofy as it sounds) so I pull my not-quite-grown-out-bangs into one of those toddler, side-ponies with those baby sized elastics. Yes – it’s as tragic as it sounds! But I do crossfit and can’t stand sweaty hairs in my eyes!
cute — I’m a big fan of Lulu headbans. that’s how I maintain my main during exercise ๐
I usually tie my hair up into a tight but extremely messy bun and through on whatever head band I can find. My headbands are all the really thin ones and aren’t very efficient. I would love to see how a thicker band like these would work with my crazy thick/curly/frizzy hair.
I have shorter hair, so sweating so much till I can slick it backwards ๐
love these! i bounce between headbands, bobby pins and a hat depending on the type of workout but these look like they would be perfect : )
Chin length hair….so up it goes in a tiny ponytail yet all those hairs that won’t stay so I also wear a headband. Not the most stylish and attractive. :). I would like to look mor hip with my hair at 5:30am doing CrossFit!!
Oh goodness… I use a whole combo of hair pins, headbands and hats. My hair is all over the place right now, so much so that I catch a glimpse of myself in a reflection and laugh!
i have no method for keeping myhair under control. i have a hat and some cheap walmart headbands, but most of the time i just get crazy hair!
My hair is short, so I have to wear headbands when I workout. These would be perfect for me!
I try and use cheap little headbands or bobbi pins, but these look so much nicer!
Bobby pins! But they are not good during a headstand. I love headbands but they usually slide down the back of my head and fall off. Maybe I should try one of these! I love the teal one on you, you are rocking it!
I love headbands and they are the only way to keep my hair under control in this humidity! So easy for a more sleek look after the gym!
Those headbands look so cute! I recently cut my hair and it has been impossible taming the flyaways, these look like a perfect solution!
The only way to keep my hair out of my eyes when running is with a hat or visor. I won’t even run on a treadmill inside without one. My hair is super long and thick, so the top half goes into it’s own ponytail, which is then worked into a second ponytail with the bottom, then braided, then wrapped into a bun, because I can’t stand hair bouncing on my back while I’m running.
I love these headbands! I can’t work out without a headband and a clip of some sort- my hair is too curly!
Sweaty bands!
Headbands! But I use plastic and are always breaking ๐
No fighting the curls in the summer is my only strategy — just go with them ๐
I am loving these headbands! I usually go for the messy bun with some sort of headband (especially if I’m doing cardio)!
Since I have short hair I do a low twisted ponytail with a couple bobby pins and I love soft headbands that stay in place and these are so pretty!
I am not kidding. I was just thinking today that I need a wide cloth headband for those casual days when I just want to throw my hair up and not worry about my flyaways!!
So cute! I have a skinny goody headband that is good until my head gets sweaty and then starts slipping off. Would love to try one of these!
When I was a little girl playing in the sunshine, I ALWAYS wore my PURPLE sun visor. ALWAYS! It kept the sun from my face and doubled as a keep-the-hair-out-of-the-eyes & face article that I remember fondly. Twenty five years ago, I LOVED THAT VISOR! And now, I would LOVE THOSE HEADBANDS (especially the PURPLE)! Sans headband, I do the high (high) pony tail or bun to keep all my hair up, tight and away from my face.
I usually just use bobby pins- the head bands I have tried before always hurt my head…I would love to try these out!
my hair is pretty long so if i do a regular ponytail it tuns into a sweaty, tangled mess!! i always run with a braided ponytail, hair clips, and usually some kind of hat or visor.
I have bangs in the odd “growing out” stage, and always need a million bobby pins to keep my hair out of my face. One of these would be great!
I would love to try these! My hair is so out of control, wavy/curly and with the humidity in WI, lots of frizz. ๐
im a bobby-pin girl all the way. i have no clue how some girls work out without their bangs pulled back! i would love to try one of these headbands
I’m actually in the market for a new headband/way to keep my hair out of my face while I workout. Haha! I have short hair that I am trying to grow out, so it’s in the awkward growing phase and is a pain to deal with when I workout. I currently am using thin plastic headbands, but they do NOTHING to hold back my hair. I’ve always been hesitant to buy a thicker band, thinking it wouldn’t stay put. Hopefully I can win these! ๐
Those are really cute. I almost always wear a headband when running and would love to try one of these!
i attempt to control it with bobby pins and a pony tail and when that doesn’t work i just rock the frizzy hair look!
Curly hair, summer 110% humidity…..headbands are a necessity!
I just cut 11 inches of curly curly hair off, so ponytails and messy buns are out for me! I use little clips to pull it back off my face when I’m working and hot yoga-ing, and have tried bazillions of headbands but haven’t found one I’m in love with yet! Ps – purple is one if my uniform colors at work … Just sayin’ ๐
So cute! I wear a simple non slide black headband to keep my hair under control, but one of these would be so much cuter!
i use like 3 elastics and always rock a headband! I can’t stand when my hair is in my face!
I’m in the military and have to wear my hair in a bun most of the work week. So when I’m exercising on my own I love wearing bright headbands or my hair in a french braid for yoga. I find buns to be especially annoying for yoga when trying to do shoulder stand. BUT if you like a bun, I highly recommend spin pins!
So cute! The headbands look great! I have no method to the madness of my hair. I pull it back in a super high bun and usually look like Pebbles from the Flintstones…but I just remind myself that I will look so much cuter after the shower. I’m in class to work! (but really, I wouldn’t mind a headband ๐ )
I sport an afro because it’s easy (and suddenly trendy). I’m constantly wearing headbands because they provide some control during a lunchtime workout as well as a fashion accessory when I return to work. So gimme, gimme!!
My choice is either Bobby pins or my 1 Lulu band, which frankly gives me a headache to wear, so I usually stick with pin
I love how impressive your meals always look, esp dinner! Right now I’m loving scrambled egg/wilted spinach/arugula/cherry tomato topped with avocado at breakfast. Keeps me fueled and satisfied without being heavy since its been so hot out!
I love the purple! I have bangs, so I always use headbands. I currently use Sweaty Bands, but I find the elastic straps on mine keep stretching out and becoming loose over time. I’ll definitely have to check these out since they seem like they wouldn’t have that issue.
A headband is a must for me when I work out because I have so many layers!
I’ve tried many different strategies but always have to fiddle around with the headband during my workout! I’m looking forward to trying these out!
Lulu bang busters save the day! My hair is not naturally straight so it totally wigs out in the humidity (and when I sweat lol). Would love to add these to my collection!
I wear ratty old bandanas so a headband would be so nice!
I’d love one!! Headbands are my go-to when I want to continue to run errands after a sweaty workout. I usually just pin back my bangs and throw my hair in a ponytail.
I would LOVE something soft and secure to practice yoga in! My hair is too short to put in a hairband so I resort to pointy bobby pins. I tried to go without anything and I looked like a mushroom by the end of class. Pretty please? ๐
My hair is all over the place when I work out…especially yoga! I recently cut it so a ponytail doesn’t do the trick. I haven’t had much luck with headbands, my head is small and my hair is fine so they always slip back. I would LOVE to find one that worked.
I’ve got cr
I actually just got my first Violet Love headband a few weeks ago and I love it! It’s so colorful and bright, I could definitely use another one!
I really don’t have a good strategy-my wings are out of control-which is why I need a cute headband!
Oops! I meant to say I’ve got crazy thick hair and most headbands fall off during my runs. I’d love to try this one. I’m stuck with hundreds of bobby pins right now!
I love the look of that patterned one ๐ And I love the sound of no headaches. I have a lot of trouble with headbands giving me headaches. Right now I use a thin adjustable headband from lululemon, which I love because I can adjust it to be as loose as I need… but everyone tells me it looks like a bra strap.
I always have to braid mine with about 20 bobby pins….Georgia humidity makes for some messy hair in the summer!
I have no method of keeping my hair under control and would love to try one of these cute headbands.
The headbands are so stylish, and would really help keep my bangs and long hair back! The orange goes great with your orange Lululemon tops for work!
ponytail and bobby pins or a hat if running outside ๐
Ive tried so many headbands and none seem to stay on without slipping, especially during a spin class! I also try to use lots of hair clips to hold my hair back, but that gets kind of painful during yoga since I could be on my head.
I’d LOVE one to help tame the natural curly hair during the summer’s HOT & HUMID days ๐
I tend to rely on elastic hair ties and hairspray to keep my locks under control with workouts, but I love those bands. The skinny bands have given my headaches in the past, but I think I’d really like the wide bands.
I am a headband enthusiast! I have short bangs that I like to tuck under a wide band when I work out. My hair is very straight and fine, and it is difficult to find bands that do not slip (so far, lucy makes the only bands that consistently stay put for me). Also, they have to be cute; I’m a personal trainer and often wear a headband when I’m in the gym all day. I would love to try these out!
Thanks ๐
BIC bands usually work for me!! Either that or a bobby pin
I cut my hair super short for the summer. My bangs flop around especially when it is humid so I carry a barrette to clip them back.
I love BondiBands, but I’m always looking for new ones!
I’d love to try a headband that promises no headaches! I always wear my hair in a ponytail to work out or a messy “bun.” I’ve never understood how a girl with long hair can work out with her hair down, but I see it often at my gym.
I have no strategy, just lots of hair clips which still don’t keep my baby hairs from going crazy which is why I need this!
A thick headband and a bun always does the trick for me! But I find that I’m always on the hunt for a better headband. Will have to try these out!
I used to wear Lulu headbands but they don’t stay on well at all, so II’ve recently switched to Sweatybands and LOVE them. Always trying to find a new band, though…I wear them constantly.
I need a new headband!! I use bobby pins like crazy because I can’t find a headband that works for me!
I love these! I pretty much always wear a headband for yoga and runs. On rainy, cold or super sunny days I will run in a hat. I need a good headband that won’t slip!
Bangs + shortish hair = headbands and pigtails. Jen, I’m dying for the patterned band. Pleeeeeeez ๐
I have never been able to find a headband that doesn’t slip and/or hurt. Therefore, I usually go with a ponytail and baseball cap.
I love headbands all year round but I love bright colors for the summer! Those headbands look super cute!
Hair is always in a pony tail during workouts, but something cute to brighten up my hair would be fantastic!
I am definitely still looking for a strategy. I have so many fly aways and would love a headband to tame them!
For Yoga, it’s a high tight bun and for running, I have to have a braid. No Braid means One big dreadlock. Not Fun!
Baseball cap on my runs but would love this alternative!
I tried bobby pins, but I kept poking myself. Now I’m known around the gym for my headbands…I ALWAYS have one, and I try to match it to my workout clothes ๐
During my hot yoga sessions I’m constantly dripping in sweat. I’ve learned not to use hairspray because it finds its way into your eyes. I usually tie my hair into a high pony, secure it into a bun with another ponytail holder, and then wrestle with those Goody headbands for the rest of class. I’ve got a lot of baby hairs and they constantly fall in my face, so headbands are a must! Interested to see one that claims to “not slip!”
I’m always on the lookout for a headband that doesn’t slide off my small head. The ones I own usually only stay put with hairspray and sweat. Gross.
Those are cute! I usually do a braid but always have little baby hairs flying out!
LOTS of bobby pins
My hair is so thick that I have to use two hairties and bobby pins to keep it out of my face during workouts. Would love to try these!
My hair is a disaster when I work out, nothing seems to control it.
I used to just rely on bobby pins to hold back my bangs while I worked out, but I’ve recently made the switch to headbands. I’ve been using a few by Under Armor but i LOVE the bright colors and wide width of these Violet Love ones! Plus, anything that sticks in place while you’re working out is a must for me!
I have to wear a headband or two barrettes to keep my hair back in my ponytail.
I’m letting my short hair grow out and a headband would be great!!!!
I haven’t found a good solution yet. Usually a simple pony tail, but if I have the time/patience french braid is the way to go!
A ponytail/messy bun and bobby pins to hold back the bangs typically is my fallback hairdo, but a headband would solve many of my escapee hair problems!
I use lots of bobby pins. I have curly hair so I got lots of curls popping out of my ponytail when it’s humid!! These headbands would be great for that.
I’m just using bobby pins right now. I would love to try one of those headbands!
I usually go with a headband or bobby pins and hair tie to keep my hair in place during my runs. I would LOVE to try a new headband!
I kept my hair semi-under control with a wrapped up dollar store bandana… one of those snazzy headbands would be a fantastic upgrade ๐
–Erica
I use pins now but they kinda useless. My hair looks pretty bad when I workout
I am always looking for ways to keep my hair back that don’t slip! Usually I just rock the ponytail or a braid but I love to wear my lulu headband too!
I probably have the largest collection of bobby pins this side of the Mason-Dixon line to keep all my stray hairs in place. Unfortunately they lead to a vicious cycle of breaking more strands, thus the need for more bobby pins! My other hair taming go-to is cheap walmart headbands…which hurt like hell for the first several times you wear them, but if it survives the first week (they’ve got a 10% survival rate in my hands!)…they’re golden! Haha! Maybe I should try something more along the lines of these Violet Love headbands ๐
I try the headbands, but haven’t been successful with the no slip ๐ Lots of bobby pins for now!
It depends on the workout! If it super sweaty (running, hot yoga) I always wear a headband. For less sweaty classes like bodypump I just braid back my bangs! Love those colors!
Bobby pins or headbands. But mine always slip! These look great!!
I have sidebangs so generally have to do SOMETHING to keep them out of my face for hot, sweaty power vinyasa classes. I typically will use a bobby pin and sometimes attempt to rock a headband- usually lululemon, but never fails to slip off my head eventually….would love to try some new brands.
I love the Violet Love headbands. They seem to be very similar to the Lululemon bangbusters which I do not do a workout without!! I am a serious sweater so headbands serve a great purpose for my sweaty workouts and keeping hair out of my face. The prints of these headbands are gorgeous!!
Hairy spray, bobby pins, and a few hail Mary’s; )
Bobby pins!! I have five in my hair at any given time!
I’ve yet to find a (cute) headband that stays in place during my workouts. I normally just go with bobby pins, but by the end of a workout my hair is crazy! I’d love to try these!
Those are adorable! I am so excited that my bangs are finally grown out so it is much easier to put my hair back in a pony tail now. I also wear the Lululemon no slip headbands- they are great at keeping the sweat at bay! ๐
I attempt to control my short hair with pig tails and a headband! I’m loving the prints and colors of the Violet Loves!
I love using headbands, but I agree I usually end up playing with them and getting distracted. I usually braid my bangs back and put my hair in a bun…it does the trick and my hair doesn’t end up in knots! ๐
OJON DAMAGE REVERSE RESTORATIVE HAIR TREATMENT. I do triathlon training and yoga mixed in with weight training……and trying to keep my hair looking decent while coming out of the water, into a helmet, and onto the run is CRAZY! I’ve discovered the TINIEST bit of Ojon restorative hair masque used to help smooth flyaways before securing the ponytail is AMAZING! (although i avoid the “tail” portion to avoid greasy stringiness). it’s technically meant to be a masque, but it keeps everything in place way better than any spray/serum/whatever i have ever tried!
So cute! I always have to use at least two pony tails, a headband, and some hair spray ๐
I love these! I have naturally frizzy/curly hair and a good headband is essential. And these are adorable ๐
My method is headbands! Love them!
My hair used to be long enough to all stay in a pony..but recently I got bangs and am STRUGGLING to make them stay…trying different cheap headbands, but they slip and slide all over the place…and bobby pins leave marks all in my bangs. These headbands look like the perfect fix!
I wear my hair in a bun and use about a million bobby pins to attempt to tame my curly flyways!
I usually just rock a ponytail with two extra tight hair ties, but I’m sure a headband would help!
I only have ONE headband, and I use it to keep my hair from my face during workouts. Other way, when I run, I sometimes wear a hat.
I have short hair, so I usually just pin my bangs back with bobby pins…not the friendliest for inversions in yoga! A soft, flat headband would be a much better alternative.
I think my least favorite part of getting ready for a run or is trying to pull my hair back into something manageable. I have a ton of hair, and no matter how messy my bun, tight my braids, or high my pony tail it always ends up a hot, hot mess.
Thank goodness the “top knot” is making a come back… It is the only do that works for me while exercising!
The headbands look fabulous!!
Happy Monday!
I wear a hat when running and a ponytail for crosstraining. I have not tried a headband yet, but I would like to.
I tend to wear hats on runs, but for interval workouts and tabata, I end up with a billion bobby pins and hair clips keeping the fly-aways at bay. Those headbands look ideal!
I currently don’t have one and need one desperately!
I’m trying to grow my hair out from about chin length, so my strategy is changing. Currently I can pull it into a tight ponytail but always have to wear a headband no matter what or half of it will end up in my face. The Violet Love brand looks very cute!
Hat during outside runs, Sweaty Bands at the gym
I can’t keep my hair under control at the gym so I’m in desperate need of one of these!
Oh my gosh those are so cute! I always wear my hair in a ponytail and my bangs pulled back with just the skinny black headbands from Target. These would be such a nice change!
Oohh I love those headbands! I just have sweaty hair everywhere when I work out because I have yet to come up with a better plan for my unruly long hair and bangs :/ Usually I at least attempt a ponytail but it never stays put when I run!
My hair is so crazy curly, my closest friends call me Fro! I use product in my hair after showering, but have many, many headband days when the humidity just ain’t my friend. I love headbands that are both cute and practical.
I wear headbands daily!! Trying to keep hair off of my face is always a task!
I love these headbands. I use mainly Bobbie pins or the elastic skinny headbands.
Love the headbands! I usually go with a ponytail, bobby pins, and a headband. I can’t stand hair in my face when I’m in the middle of a WOD!! ๐
These headbands look great!! I usually put my hair up in a pony tail and use bobby pins to keep my bangs out of my face when I work out. A lot of headbands I use slip off of my head when I exercise, so I would love to give these a try!
Depending on the length if my hair, I generally pull back somehow in order to keep out of my face. I have been searching for the perfect headband, as the ones I have tried in the past I find slip ๐
I generally wear a high bun or a ponytail, but a cute headband would definitely keep flyaways out of my face when exercising!
I would LOVE to win these headbands! How do you keep your hair so moisturized? My hot yoga classes I take do a number on my strands. fingers crossed that I get to try these out.
I’ve just started wearing headbands since I’m growing out my bangs. They are always flopping in my face when I run or in yoga. This brand sounds perfect!
I would love to try these out. I’ve never had success with headbands before.
I just got my hair cut where it’s too short to pull into a ponytail. I’d love either headband so I can stop eating my hair during downward dogs ๐
i always wear a headband! i have so many baby hairs wearing one is a must
i wear headbands or a hat!
I usually wear a slouchy beanie to try to keep things under control.
I don’t currently have a strategy! ๐ I usually hate headbands, but would love to give this one a try. Looks really comfortable.
I just use two hair ties and am always having to re-tie them. I’d love to have headbands to help hold my hair back!
The headbands look awesome!! I love colorful/printed headbands.
I use a headband for every workout! Have yet to find one that doesn’t end up slipping off though! ๐ Maybe these are the ones!! Have even used bandanas too but even they won’t stay put for long!
Love headbands to keep the sweat from my eyes! Bet they are even prettier drenched in sweat ๐
I’m a hat girl….Nike hats wick away sweat and keep my pony in place/hair out of the way!
I have no strategy and my hair goes crazy when I sweat so these would be perfect for me hah. I have been growing my hair out for a while so it helps that it finally all fits in a ponytail, but I still have some pretty bad flyways and baby hairs up in there.
I usually attempt to control my hair with my one measly bobby pin and pony binder, that is if I can find either of them in the bottom of whatever bag happens to be with me…I haven’t found a headband that I can stand to wear for extended periods of time. Maybe this one will do the trick?
I throw my hair in a messy bun but it’s always ridiculous after a sweat session. I have tried several different headbands because I want them to work but I have not found one that doesn’t constantly need to be fixed! Also, that burger looks amazing! Love mushrooms and blue cheese on mine!
bobby pins are my best friends while I’m running!
Oooo so pretty! Sturdy headbands are a part of my solution for keeping my hair out of my way when I’m working out. I have long, thick hair so its a pretty elaborate ponytail, braid, all wrapped into a bun situation but it stays whether I’m running, in bootcamp, swinging a kettlebell or doing yoga.
Wow these are so pretty!! I’m usually a simple pony tail girl and if it’s a really hot day I’ll wear some sort of headband. I really only have the thin sports bands and some really old wider ones from like Wal-mart or something, so I’d LOVE to try these!
I usually do a pony tail & a couple bobbypins.
I usually use headbands or hats, but I sti haven’t found any that are 100% no slip and that don’t hurt my head. Would love to give these a try! ๐
I certainly need a headband because right now my strategy is to brush back all my flyaways with my sweaty hand. Not effective, I tell ya.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love this for the hot yoga classes! ๐
After having my daughter, i lost a lot of hair and its just starting to grow back. I have a lot of fly aways that need taming and these headbands would be perfect! =)
I try to keep all my hear up in a top knot on top on my head! Keeps it from getting too sweaty and grimy! I’d love to win these headbands though!
I usually wear a headband or use bobby pins to keep my bangs out of my face. These headbands would be perfect!
I use a headband to keep my fly-away hairs out of my face. Drives me nuts when they touch my face when I’m sweaty!
During the summer I need to use a headband of some sort of keep my fly aways out of my face. I often wear a visor while running because it keeps the sweat from dripping into my eyes.
Headbands all the way! I have so many flyaways I need it!
these are so cute!! I don’t really have a method for keeping hair under control during yoga (especially hot). I have a lot of curly, frizzy/flyaway hair so by the end of class it’s basically all over the place and i am a definitive hot mess. I haven’t been able to find any headbands that work for me yet- these look great though! ๐
Those are really nice. I can only use the thick ones on my hair for some reason. I even wear them when I’m not working out.
I would love to try these! I am forever on the hunt for a headband that stays in place and will soak up sweat (gross, I know!). My head sweats so much and without something on my head, will burn my eyes and will turn a workout miserable quickly!
High pony tail in the back with a bobby pin in the front to keep everything off my face. I’d love a headband that doesn’t give me a headache or slip down while I sweat!
I usually braid both sides and put it into a low pony tail… but even that doesn’t always do the trick! Boston is HUMID right now!
When I go running I sometimes wear a baseball hat or a visor to keep the sun and hair out of my eyes. I like running in headbands but it’s hard to find one that doesn’t give me a headache! I love wearing thicker, stretchy headbands for yoga, too.
With my hair being above my shoulders, I have to either bobby pin it like crazy, or use kiddy hair clips to keep my hair out of my face during a workout. I would love to try a headband, but have been skeptical as to whether they’d stay up or not.
I love headbands, but have a problem getting any of the to stay in place not slip! When that fails, I just stick my hair in a massive bun and hope for the best.
I have very long, thick hair so I pretty much have to put it in a ponytail, then braid it. I am actually new to wearing headbands but I haven’t found one that isn’t too tight yet. Hope I win one from Violet Love! Thanks for the giveaway Jen!
My hair control strategy consists of re-doing my hair in the middle of yoga class to fix the flyaways stuck to my face :-). The headbands I’ve tried before always gave me a headache. It’s great that these one’s didn’t!
Cute! I put my hair in a ponytail and then bobby pin like crazy to hold back my long bangs and layers.
I would LOVE to try these! I’m always looking for headbands that don’t slip. I currently have a Sweaty Band that works pretty well at keeping loose hairs down during workouts. I thought headbands always slipped off because of my head shape, but now I know that’s not true! You just need a good one ๐ Plus, my husband is always BEGGING me to wear them. He thinks they look sexy!
I have no strategy. I got my hair cut short about 3 months ago and I’m still trying to figure out how to keep it out of my face during workouts. I look like a clown during yoga. I need these headbands!
I have no strategy. I got my hair cut short about 3 months ago and I’m still trying to figure out how to keep it out of my face during workouts. I need these headbands!
These headbands are adorable! I love the fun colors/patterns. I have slippery hair and lots of layers, so headbands are essential for my workouts! I much prefer them to bobby pins.
Basically, the reason I’m entering the giveaway is because I don’t have a way to keep my hair from going berserk when I run in the mornings:) Thanks PA for your hot humid summers;)
I have short curly hair, so I use headbands to keep it all tame (or at least out of my face!) while working out, and barrettes during the day!
I recently got bangs…cute, but not when I’m working out. So, I’m usually sporting some sort of crazy bobby pin arrangment when I’m getting sweaty!
Those are super pretty! I wear headbands most of the time, either with my hair up or down. I workout most days of the week and use them to keep my hair back when I am with my little guy who has just learned how to pull hair when mommy is holding him!
I have really long hair. For yoga I typically braid my bangs back and use a million bobby pins to keep it secure then twist it on top of my head to keep it out of the way. However, DC is so hot and humid right now nothing really helps those pesky flyaways! I would love to try a violet love headband!
Cool giveaway! Usually when I run I absolutely HAVE to french braid my hair, otherwise it turns into a sweaty knotted mess. However, with all my layers, I have a bunch of escapees (unruly hair) that a headband would keep in place ๐
I never wear headbands because I fidget with them every second as they slip from my head. Would love to keep my flyaways at bay in yoga with the perfect and stylish headband ๐
What great headbands! I am still seeking “the one.”
I do a basic high ponytail, that gets redone numerous times!
My head must be strangely shaped because most headbands won’t stay put during my workouts, especially yoga when I’m constantly changing positions and laying down. I’d love to try these headbands to see if they could change my flyaway situation for good!
Those are some cute headbands! I am a ponytail + headband girl because I always have little strands that just refuse to stay put in the ponytail.
braids, bobby pins, baseball caps, and headbands!!! Alabama humidity and my sweaty head requires a mixed bag of tricks:)
I use a ponytail and a baby crab clip to try to tame my flyaways! I always want to try one of those types of headbands but worry that it’ll fall off my head in a forward fold!
Depending on what my workout is I will either your large bobby pin like clips or a head band to keep the flyaways at bay. Nothing is more frustrating than a slipping headband.
These are so cute!!!! Typically, I either wear a bun or a low pony tail when I’m running/cross fit because it doesn’t fall out as easily ๐
Have a great day!
MC
Truth is, very little keeps my hair under control during workouts. I throw it up in a ponytail, usually attempt to squeeze on an elastic headband, but inevitably as I sweat (a lot) little curls spring up and escape. Most days I leave the gym, or pure barre studio, looking a bit like a lion with curly wisps popping up from my temples. I would be interested to see if a wider band could help tame my unruly mane.
Tight ponytail, but that doesn’t always work!
Just the good old route of a ponytail with bobby pins and a lot of pushing hair out of my face!
I would love to try a new headband and those look great! My hair is short and I get really tired of wearing hats!
Right now controlling my hair is pretty easy, it’s long enough for a ponytail. I always wear a headband though to control the shorter front pieces. I’m chopping my hair off in a couple weeks though, so that will be a whole new challenge!
I’ve tried it all and my newest strategy is to just let it go wild. I never wear headbands because they give me headaches so I would definitely be interested to see if these worked for me.
p.s.- that risotto looks fantastic!
I usually use the good old fashion hard headbands to tame the beast, but these are much cuter!!
I’m always struggling to keep my hair out of my face during yoga/working out. Headbands give me headaches (I have a big head!!) and I HATE tight pony tails. Needless to say, my hair is usually a disheveled mess by the time my workouts are finished!! Would love to win these headbands!
my hair is the longest it’s ever been and I am getting it cut on Thursday so those headbands would definitely come in handy w/ my new look!
Would love to try that style headband! I have been wearing thinner non slip headbands but they can’t contain my frizzy hair in this humidity.
My hair is always a mess when i’m working out, but for some reason most headbands don’t stay on my head! I would love to find one that does, so this could be perfect for me!
I usually spray hairspray or lick my fingers to slick my hair back (so attractive) but still end up with curly strays popping up all over the place. It’s pretty gross. I have yet to find a headband that stays put on my big, oval size head. I would love to give the Violet Love a try.
I try to wet it before pulling it back, helps with the fly aways!
Strategy? I don’t rule my hair – my hair rules me. I’ve tried headbands, bobby pins, but I’ve just mastered the “re-do your ponytail 12 times while running” tactic. I’d love to try the patterned Violet Love headband so my mane can look extra sassy!
I have long hair and love handbands! My flyaways are crazy!
Right now I have no method. My blonde whispies usually leave me looking like a sweaty lion. There’s nothing better than walking the dog in the heat and struggling to keep your hair out of your face. I’ve always had a problem with headbands sliding because my hair is so fine. I would love to try these out!
I currently just pull my bangs back into my pony tail or bun for yoga and running but small pieces tend to fall out, especially in yoga!
My biggest issue is super thick/heavy hair. So my strategy is multiple hair ties! ๐
I use bobby pins to keep everything pinned in place… but only because I haven’t found a headband that won’t slip off the back of my head! Those are gorgeous!
Ponytail and headband for down dog.
I go with a ponytail and bobby pin for my bangs. I never wear headbands, but these looks cute! I would definitely try them out in hot yoga.
I just pray that I’m running into the wind both ways to keep all those little hairs out of my face, haha! I could use a headband that doesn’t slip.
My hair gets really tangled if I just leave it in a regular pony tail, so I either need to tuck it back through the pony tail holder to throw in some braids to keep things under control.
A ponytail and bobby pins! That’s it! ๐
I have a lot of layers so I usually just throw on a hat if I’m running. If I’m taking a class like yoga or pilates I throw my hair in a ponytail and pin it up with bobby pins. I have yet to find a headband that does not slip on my head…I would love to try these out!
I usually just throw my hair up with a hair tie and some bobby pins but I hate when my hair gets stuck in them! I’ve been wanting to try a headband out for a while now but haven’t found a good one yet! These look beautiful!
Oh goodness! I rely on your standard hairbands with a bit of rubber backing so that my flyaways stay in place! I’d love to jazz up my look with a headband but I’d also hope for a little functionality!
Like you I am not a big head band wearer, they simply fall off my head, but I love how they look on everyone else. I would love to try these out since you had a great experience with them.
I use a hard headband but sometimes it gives me a headache and makes the back of my ears sore! I would love to win one of these and test it out!! It doesn’t hurt that they are so much cuter than a brown plastic headband!!
Headbands all the way!!
Oh man, I need a headband. I made a bad mistake and cut bangs, and am not trying to grow them out. I teach yoga and it gets real when I’m trying to demo something and my hair flops in my face…
Unlike you, I have to have a headband on when workin out! So I love this giveaway! And I need something that stays put, it is the worst when you have to keep adjusting a headband!
i use three (!!) pony tail holders to hold my mane back while running. it’s ridiculous! also bobby pins, and those long cheap rubberbands. would love something more stylish! thanks for hosting the giveaway! would love to win!!
I have yet to find a headband that doesn’t slip off so I use lots of bobby pins and ponytails to keep my hair out of my face while working out. These bands look comfortable – I like the wider band rather than a skinny one.
Where to begin? With curly hair, every type of moisture is your worst enemy. Even if you wear a headband, the frizz will rise behind the band! The best solution I have found is a headband, and an abnormal amount of hairspray for the top…the bottom. Well, that is just a hot mess. These look like they would cover more of my head and cover all the trouble areas a little more than the thin bands I use now!
I’ve tried headbands but they never stay on, including those that say non-slip, etc. I like the thickness of this band and maybe it will stay. I would love to give it a try. I normally just do a ponytail w/ clips to get my hair to stay and just deal with the rest of my hair that falls out.
I always stick with just a ponytail, but a headband like this could be really helpful!
Luckily, now that I live in Denver and humidity is in check, my hair doesn’t get nearly as crazy, but I love a tight bun with as little hair as possible touching me. And I love a headband to keep it all out of my face!
Ponytail & Bobby pins! I have been a huge fan of smaller felt backed headbands but I finally figured out they were breaking my so I would love to try these wider ones.
If I’m doing a run or a high intensity work out, my hair has to be out of my face. My hair is long so pony tails don’t suffice. Instead, I put my hair in a high bun and use a headband to push away any pieces that aren’t quite long enough for my crazy hairdo. I am always on the lookout for headbands that don’t move as my current ones always shift around. Love headband patterns!
I’ve used a few sub-par headbands in the past (kept slipping!) so now I just try my luck with about a billion bobby pins!
I’m ALWAYS wearing headbands. I tend to go for sparkly, bright colors. I will admit, finding one that doesn’t slip and doesn’t give you a headache from being too tight is a struggle at times. These look amazing!
I have long bangs so my headband collection is pretty big, but I always have trouble finding good go-tos that REALLY don’t slip and come off half way through a run!
I usually just wear my hair in a ponytail (when it’s shorter, I usually have to clip or pin the back up). But in the summer I get all those annoying frizzies all over, so I’d love a good headband – especially one that doesn’t give me headaches.
I’ve been doing the Insanity workouts so I have to have my hair back and out of my face. A ponytail with a headband has been my go to hairstyle. These look really cute! ๐
These are so cute! I typically just secure my hair in a ponytail, but if its super hot I will pile all of my hair on top of my head in a messy bun. I’ve tried some of the thinner athletic headbands, but those tend to give me headaches if I wear them for too long. These ones you’ve shown on your blog look like they’d be quite comfy, though.
I pull my hair back with a ponytail holder/tie and hope my outgrown bangs stay out of the way. I’ve tried elastic hair bands and they seem to slip even with the no-slip grip deal. I’d love to try the Violet Love headbands and the awesome assortment of colors & patterns!
I used a headband to keep the hair out of my face and a pony tail.
I keep my hair pulled back with a headband and barrettes and usually braid my ponytail to keep the hair at bay. In Texas, the heat = lots of sweat and it can create a tangly mess if I don’t keep my hair under control!
I usually just go with a thick headband for my runs!
I keep my thick, layered hair in a ponytail when doing Boot Camp, Cycling and running… a headband helps also to keep the short pieces out of my eyes.
braids and bobby pins!!!
I could certainly use a new headband. I can never find one that stays put! My hair slips out in minutes- it’s not thin, but really fine. This one looks like it just might be thick enough to stay. I’ve been french-braiding the crown for yoga to keep flyaways in place, and wearing a visor (which looks very outdated!) for runs. I could use a stylish fly-away solution!
These look great on you and are so cute! I’m trying to grow my bangs out, and they’re at that weird stage where they’re too short to make it into a ponytail and too long to just flop around while I run. I have one sad plain black headband I’ve been using, but it would be so fun to have better, more colorful options!
I don’t have a good strategy, gah! Often the use of my own sweat to keep the strays away is helpful! These look very cute, and thanks for the giveaway!
I just tie my hair back with a regular hair tie, but I’ve noticed that during this hot and humid weather (90’s in MA right now), sweat’s been dripping in my eyes during long runs. I was really considering buying a headband anyway at some point!
I have long hair, so french braids+wide headband works best for me! The braid contains all the hair and keeps the headband from slipping!
I do a tight french braid and one of those skinny hairbands for the wispys!
Love these!
I use headbands inside and hats outside.
I wear skinny headbands but would love to try a thick one.
I would love to win this. I usually just do a ponytail and bobby pins.
Louisiana humidity + my crazy curly hair = a hot mess while I run in the mornings! Gotta have headbands to keep the hair outta my face & the cuter the headband the better! ๐
I’ve yet to figure out a foolproof way to keep my crazy thick hair under control while working out. I find that the skinny headbands don’t really work for me, my hair seems to find its way out. These thick headbands look right up my alley!
I use BIC Bands or Sweaty Bands or Lulu headbands. I’m always looking to try something new though!!!
I just pull my hair into a ponytail. I’d love a hair band to keep my long bangs out of my eyes.
A headband is 100% necessary for any run AND teaching BodyPump!!! Can’t do it without!
Hi!
Right now I don’t have much of a strategy for keeping the frizz out of my face, but these handbands look like a great solution!!
Thanks,
Laura
I have no strategy other than to tie it back and hope for the best! Especially in humid weather…
I just bought a lululemon head band for yoga and it seems to be working out okay so far. I love the thickness of these!
I use ALLLLLLLLLL the hairspray! For yoga, I wear a sock bun (extra tight!) and for my regular cardio, strength and classes- I wear a braid with a lulu headband!
“Who wants a purple headband?” I do! I so need help in keeping back my hair during workouts. This humid weather makes my hair have a life of it own.
I usually just wear a headband, but I have yet to find one that doesn’t give me trouble at least once during my workout!
My hair is crazy long so to keep it under control while working out, I typically put it up into a high bun which my boyfriend lovingly refers to as the “crossaint.”
In this humidity my strategy is sweat as soon as possible and use that to tame fly aways. Attractive, I know!
lots of bobby pins or a hat, if i’m running outside!
Purple is my ABSOLUTE fav color! Just like you go overboard with the orange, I feel that way with purple. They are all super cute and would be such a great addition to my gear! I always have trouble finding good quality headbands. I usually rock a french braid to keep everything in place but the whispies are still out of control!
I use several bobby pins but that always fails ๐ I need a new method!
These are so cute!! I usually use a plain black lululemon headband, but would love a patterned one!!
I have fine hair and find headbands to be an essential part of my workout gear! The problem is when they slide around and I spend so much time fidgeting with them to hold all my hair before and also during my workouts! I would love to try out one of these since they look slightly wider than anything I currently have…plus the colors are so cute.
oh boy!! I am a headband fanatic! I ALWAYS wear one when I crossfit. Though I wear mine over my ears- you tucked yours behind them.
love love lulu headbands and i buy more from Wodgearclothing.com
i want these ones!
kristina
Bun with a headband always works to keep the hair out of my face. These look great!
Messy buns always work for me but I could use an adorable headband ๐
I like to actually put my headband on with my hair teased to give it some friction so it doesn’t slip!
Pony and my daughters snap clips!
i usually wear sweatybands but I am always looking for a new item!!!
Lots of bobby pins!!!
I initially loved a head band for style, when you feel cute you workout better, it’s a known fact which is why lulu lemon is so popular… I’ve auditioned several headbands, the only one I have found that does not move or require a mid workout readjustment is…..well none of them… I’ve tried target “goodies” brand… It slips, lulu (my fave brand, just not for head bands) it slipped causing readjustment. Truth is I haven’t found one and I’ve tried at least one new one at every race expo (non brand~sorry~). So maybe if I don’t get one of these as a result of this post, if you have found success in using these possibly ill try it out! Word of mouth is the best form of advertisement !!
I would love this! Right now?? It’s just bobbie pins! or a barrette… ugh.. ๐
I wear a hat/visor all day/every day since I teach group ex full time. I have some members that don’t recognize in public when my hair is down and some tell me they had no idea what my real hair color is! Those headbands would definitely brighten up my look.
I french braid my hair or do a simple pony with lots of boby pins, I can never find headbands that stay put for crossfit so this would be great.
I always wear headbands when i workout! It’s a must!
