Thanks for the congrats on my new teaching gig! I will most definitely let y’all know how the new class formats go – yoga with weights will be a learning experience for me too!
We had a really fun weekend. Saturday was full of my favorite things – yoga, the farmer’s market, a Starbucks Soy Latte, a Lululemon visit, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a wedding!!!
I had a green monster to refuel after yoga – banana, blueberry, vanilla protein powder, chia seeds, plain Greek yogurt, a couple ice cubes, vanilla soy milk and a big hand full of spinach. I’ve run into several friends and blog readers lately who haven’t taken the green smoothie plunge – try it! 😛
I had a late lunch of a good old-fashioned peanut butter and jelly. Happiness on a plate!
And then it was wedding time.
Brandon grew up with the bride, Anna. Fun fact…Anna is a runner and reads the blog!
It was a beautiful wedding full of good food, friends, dancing and of course, cake!
The classic white on white combo. Delicious!
My dinner plate with a beef tenderloin sandwich, asiago potatoes, fruit, veggies and bruschetta.
And shrimp and grits. I love that shrimp and grits have become a wedding food staple – it’s one of my faves.
I ran into friend and fellow University of Georgia grad Renee. She lives in Atlanta but she’s from Charlotte so we always seem to bump into each other at weddings. Oh and random side note…blue was THE color of the night. I saw so many blue dresses!
The band was great and kept the dance floor packed all night. I had to share another “Shout” picture since I just blogged about it from the last wedding we attended.
Anna’s going away dress was fabulous and doesn’t she look so happy!?
And that does us in for weddings until October. The past few summers have been packed with weddings but now they’re tapering off and babies are taking over! Eek!
How was your weekend? Do you have many weddings to attend this summer? What’s your favorite wedding food? (Besides the cake, duh! ;))
Here’s to a great week! Hope your Monday is amazing!
There is nothing better than a pb & j. So good.
You look so pretty in blue!!!
Shrimp and grits, love it! Classic southern staple!
Love, love, LOVE the dress. Gorgeous!
Have you ever done a post on how your husband eats/workouts? I am trying to get my husband to develop some healthier habits and was wondering if you had any ideas 🙂
Danielle
danielle – i have not blogged about this topic but it’s a great idea. i have a list of topics that i want to cover so i will add this!!!
Rockin’ the dress, Jen!! Fave wedding food: I always demolish (ie. eat lots of) the veggie tray during the reception b/c I feel bad that no one else is eating it:)
I think I’m reaching the tail end of wedding fever too! Finally!
Random question – where do you get your chia seeds from?
Such a gorgeous dress Jen!! That colour really suits you 🙂
The wedding looks awesome, especially that cake hehe 😉 Aww the bride looks beautiful and I love that she reads your blog!!
Sadly I don’t have any weddings this summer. Shame cos I really want some cake! 😛
Love the blue on you! And yes, weddings and babies do seem to be popping up everywhere 🙂
You look gorgeous! Blue really is your color! That dress is so beautiful. Where is it from?
aw, thanks jen. we got it at a boutique in virginia highlands in atlanta a few weeks ago. it’s max + cleo.
Love the reception hall! Where did they host that? + loving all the dressed in this post. I have been on a hot hunt for a blue dress and can’t settle with one I like just yet.
stephanie – it was at myers park country club. i couldn’t even believe how many blue dresses there were!
I agree with the other readers! Your dress is gorgeous!
I love green smoothies they should definitely take the plunge! Both of her dresses are gorgeous. I love wedding cake but I’m also a sucker for a fruit and cheese platter.
fruit and cheese is one of my very favorite apps of all time!
your dress is so cute and super flattering on you. love that blue color.
‘Tis the season! I have 3 weddings over the next 6 weeks. I love weddings though, so I don’t mind at all. I’m desperately looking for a dress to wear to these weddings and I LOVE yours. Just saw on an earlier comment where you got it. I hope I can find something as nice!
kristy – that line has a lot of cute dresses right now! i love weddings too! 🙂
What a fun weekend! Jen, I have a question about your smoothie: I make one, but I don’t use green vegetables and would like to. Do you use a blender or a juicer? Thanks!
i use a blender…just put the spinach right in and you can’t even taste it!
Thanks!
love your dress, in this post and the one before.
I have some weddings to go to – but for the first one I am forcing myself to wear an old dress because i have only worn it once@@
We’re mostly beyond the wedding phase at this point (we’re old!)…it’s sad b/c they’re so much fun! …but are waiting on a couple that will be HUGE when they do happen. 😉 Both of those venues look very familiar…MP Presbyterian and MP Country Club? Grew up at both. Charlotte is so small to be so big. 🙂 Everyone runs in the same circles. Your dress is adorable, btw. Have a great week!
bingo! you guessed both correctly! 😉
totally agree with you about charlotte!
Oh my goodness the wedding you all went to looks like it was a blast! The wedding I am most looking forward to this summer is my own in just a little more than a month (34 days to be exact!) It can’t come soon enough!
ahhh!!!! so exciting! i had a wedding countdown too. i knew how many days at all times! 😉
That dress is absolutely gorgeous!!
I have one wedding in October. Two of my former co-workers, getting married in Newport, RI. So excited!! 🙂
Jen! So good seeing you on Saturday – hope to bump into you guys again soon 🙂
