I am happy that you all enjoyed the Yogi Clothing giveaway post and yesterday’s video blog. I especially appreciate the support on the ideal weight chat. It’s great to hear others in agreement. I’ll try to do the video blog thing at least once a month and let y’all endure my southern drawl. ๐
Lots to recap from the week as far as food and life so let’s get to it!
Breakfast
I have been boring with breakfast this week. Green smoothie every morning despite temps in the 20s. It’s just all I want!
Lunch
Box of good stuff from Whole Foods…kale, spinach, hardboiled egg, edamame, pecans, dried cranberries, roasted butternut squash and a drizzle of three different dressings!
Soup and sandwich. This sandwich is my fave…turkey, muenster, arugula, tomato, avocado and tarragon mayo on pressed sourdough.
Dinner
Stuffed chicken breasts and roasted brussels sprouts. Newsflash: I am thisclose to being over brussels sprouts for the season.
Crab cake salad at a get together with friends.
And also tuna tartare with fried goat cheese and roasted golden beets. This was crazy delicious. Fried goat cheese = always a good idea.
And finally, Friday night filet dinner. I kept it simple and seasoned the steak with salt, pepper, and Dizzy Pig’s Raising the Steaks and seared it in a cast iron skillet. On the side was steamed green beans, herb roasted potatoes and roasted baby carrots. Since the anemia thing I have been trying to eat red meat once every week or two.
Life
I got a polish change today and love this combo that my nail gal and I put together. I was gravitating towards blue today and she recommended this cobalt shade and then we added in the glitter nail at the very end. Great last minute call!
Highly recommend this color. She described it perfectly by saying it’s bright and dark at the same time.
Guess who got a bath this week? I can’t stand how cute she is when she’s wet. On a related note, I found a soft lump on her belly last night and I am freaking out. I have an appointment to see the vet first thing Monday. I’m praying it’s just a fat deposit. Please send us good energy!
Enjoy the weekend!
Prayers for the sweet pup!
Aww saying a prayer for your precious puppy! How adorable after a bath – which reminds me my dog really needs a bath this weekend.
thank you sara!
I โค๏ธ Sullie! Try not to worry. My golden had lots and lots of those bumps and they were all just fatty deposits. He was happy and healthy for 15 years.
thanks for the encouragement katy.
My dog also has those bumps too and it was just fat. I think it’s pretty common as they get older. I’m hoping the same is true for Sullie!
i sure hope so jessica. thanks for the comment. it’s comforting.
Thinking of Sullie and hoping for good news! Good luck ๐
thank you brittany!
I had a very similar situation about a year ago with my 6 year old pup. I was so upset, I was crying while we were waiting for the vet to see us-I understand completely. Turns out there was absolutely nothing to worry about at all. Sending wishes of peace, calm and health to you and sweetie Sullie.
erin- i am freaking out too but praying that it’s nothing. good thoughts, good thoughts, good thoughts!
I am praying for your precious Sullie. She is such a joy in your life and through your blog, to your readers. Please keep us up-to-date. I did want to thank you for the Man Maker Complex workout. I’m typing this with sore abs, shoulders and quads. Your video demonstrating the moves reminded me to concentrate on each move and do each with intention. That was a great reminder to not get slopping and to keep proper form. After 5 rounds, that’s why I’m sore. Great workout and I’d love to see more.
mary ann – i will keep you all updated for sure! thank you so much for trying my workout and i’m glad that it was good for you! i’ll definitely be posting workouts on the regular!
Love the pic of Miss Sullie after her bath! I’m sending you both good thoughts about the vet. I know exactly how you feel as I’ve gone through it a bunch of times with my 7.5 yr old Golden, but he’s still doing awesome! The breed seems to be prone to developing them, so it’s always good to get them checked out and taken care of asap.
jackie – thanks so much for sharing your experience. it’s comforting. sullie is the same age.
oh, I bet it is just a fatty lump. My precious girl has Mast cell tumors, and we are going thru chemo for them – they are hard solid lumps. I found a squishy lump, and the vet right away said it was just a fatty lump. He did draw fluid to double check, but he was right. just a fat lump. No worries Jen!
trish – thank you so much for the encouraging comment. i’m praying that is all it is. i am so sorry to hear about your girl and her chemo. i can’t imagine how hard that is.
Aw sweet sullie. I’m sure it’s just a fatty deposit, super common as they age. Our girl made it to 17 and had quite a few. Always unsettling though!! โฅ On a less important note, where do you get your nails done ? ๐
Oh, the retrievers and their lumps! I found one on my then-9-year-old black lab the day before we were set to move to West Africa together. Cue emergency vet and crying – and it was a fatty lump (in her belly, too). She has a few more now, at age 11. I’m sure sweet Sullie’s is just fat, too!
Oh no!! I hope you hear positive news Monday!!
Being over brussels sprouts– I don’t think I can ever be over them!! Hoping all is ok!!
Sending my prayers and thoughts for you and Sullie – I’m an overprotective cat momma, so I know what it’s like to worry even if you know it’s probably something benign. Hopefully it is just a fat deposit – I’ve heard that’s common in Goldens.
I feel the exact same way right now about brussel sprouts too. I have to finish my bag though that is starting at me in my fridge. Just got my nails done the other day too. I love blue on nails. Praying for Sullie…pray for Kala too. Poor girl has been dealing with so many skin issues lately. It’s stressful, but we’re getting through it. XOXO
sending good vibes to you and your ADORABLE pup. I will snuggle my 2 pooches extra hard when I get home tonight.
Say it ain’t so about brussel sprouts! I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of those little guys!
Do you get gel nails done or just regular polish?
Sending lots of good vibes for Sullie. Please keep us updated!
Prayers for sweet Sullie!!!
