I keep typing and deleting, typing and deleting…this is a nightly occurrence. Figuring out how to start posts is usually the hardest part about writing them. That and coming up with a title. I am majorly title-challenged.
Anyway…how was your Friday? Mine was okay. Like I do every Friday (or really just about every morning), I started my day at Y2 Yoga. Today was a hot vinyasa class instead of ashtanga and my practice was pretty rough. I used to beat myself up about bad practices but now I just accept that it happened and move on. I hate to bring this up but my hamstring is bothering me again. I have been dealing with this injury on and off since October. It’s maddening. I’ll leave it at that.
Breakfast was overnight oats at my desk. I am so sorry for the repetitive breakfasts but overnight oats are just so easy for me to prepare the night before and so delicious. This breakfast was extra special because I had an empty TJ’s peanut butter jar to make it in! I’m also really digging the addition of the granola sprinkle on top.
Lunch was not ideal. My body said “give me vegetables” but my lunch meeting offered pizza. Sigh.
At least there was a meatless option. On the bright side, my lunch meeting went extremely well.
I ran home after lunch to let Sullie out and grabbed a kombucha to enjoy as a Friday treat.
I have gotten in a bit of a routine of having a kombucha on Fridays.
I had lots of errands to run after work, including fighting with a car repair shop that was trying to screw me into spending $600 on some very general maintenance items that should have cost more like $300…GRRR! I stood my ground and told them only to proceed with the oil change. I’ve been comparison shopping for the other repairs. I can’t be too grumpy about it though because my car has 85,000 and I’m just having to put money into it.
We had a low-key dinner at home because Brandon had been gone all day and I have an early morning.
Shrimp and tofu pad Thai and veggies. I sauteed broccoli, snow peas, carrots and red pepper with soy sauce and teriyaki. Easy and tasty. I had a bowl of vanilla ice cream after dinner with toffee, chocolate chips and chocolate syrup.
And now I need to head to bed. Tomorrow is a FULL day. Every year at the Y we have an all day event for continuing education for our certifications. I signed up for a lot of very physical and challenging workshops because I want to get new ideas for my classes. The day starts at 7:30 a.m. Hopefully I will have some energy left over to teach yoga at 4 p.m. for the Lululemon event…and hopefully I will be able to move on Sunday. I predict extreme soreness from new activities! ๐
Any fun workouts planned this weekend? I’ll share details on the workshops on Sunday!
I am up bright and early this morning for my second brick workout of triathlon training. These workouts are my favorite. Enjoy your workouts today!
that is awesome, becky! although i haven’t done a triathlon, i think i would enjoy that aspect of training!
I’ve got a two hour trainer ride later this morning! Pumped ๐
Gosh—I’ve so fallen off the yoga wagon. I miss Friday morning hot vinyasa. I can’t wait for the weather to cool down again. Have fun with all your classes today!
COME BACK TO YOGA
yummm i am getting addicted to that kombucha too! (too bad its expensive!) and I have completely lacked on my yoga
goal for this week: get in at LEAST 3 sessions!
it is expensive so i try to limit it to a couple times a week. love your yoga goal! ๐
I spy Trader Joe’s crunchy unsalted! A peanut butter for the sophisticated, discerning palate. Good luck with your day of intense fitness!
