It is currently pouring down rain outside and Finn is down for a long morning nap. I can’t blame him…it’s perfect napping weather! We have ZERO plans on our agenda for the weekend, which I’m really happy about. We may go check out a new ALDI that opened close by and maybe do some baking and cooking. And I’d love to get the whole crew out for some fresh air if there is ever a break in this crazy rain. We haven’t been able to walk since I returned home from Florida because the weather has been so bad!
WEEKEND CHILL PLAYLIST
While I’m typing this post I’m listening to the new chill playlist that I put together for y’all. I’ve shared a few of these in the past and I always get requests for more of them! They’re the perfect thing to have on in the background while you’re working or hanging out.
This one is a little over 3.5 hours and has 56 songs! I always recommend playing on shuffle.
And here is a link to the playlist on Spotify! Remember, I also publicly share all of my yoga and fitness class playlists and there are many workout playlists that I’ve curated for past blog posts. So follow me on Spotify.
FLORIDA EATS
I edited recent eats for this post but there were so many that I’m going to have to break it up into Florida and home from Florida.
BREAKFAST
I made blueberry pancakes using Kodiak Cakes mix for Finn and myself. I topped mine with almond butter and banana slices.
Banana blueberry egg white oatmeal with cottage cheese, dried cranberries and almond butter.
My dad’s homemade plain yogurt with bananas, homemade granola, blueberries, strawberries and almond butter.
LUNCH
Salad with spinach tossed in balsamic, honey, salt and olive oil. Topped with to hardboiled eggs, toasted pecans, dried cranberries and half and avocado.
Open faced sandwich with mayo, half an avocado, two scrambled eggs and cheese.
Yep.
DINNER
Homemade meatballs over polenta with sautéed spinach and sautéed mushrooms. This was super delicious!
One night my grandmother and I were on our own for dinner because my parents had an event. My grandmother requested Panera. I had the you pick two with a spinach salad and broccoli cheddar soup. Finn gobbled up the kids mac and cheese and also liked my soup a lot! I’ve always liked Panera but I really appreciate their new clean food initiative.
Corned beef and cabbage dinner. One of my all-time faves.
Especially when served alongside homemade biscuits!
Dinner out at Stewby’s. It’s a local seafood place that my parents like but had never taken me to. I have been missing out because it’s officially my new favorite restaurant in the area! It’s super casual with counter service and lots of fried stuff. I had the grilled grouper with fried okra and collards. Their hush puppies were probably the best I’ve ever had. I ate four of them!
The last night we were there was the low country boil social. Here are my two plates. I ate the shrimp and sausage off the low country boil plate and all of the stuff on the other plate. Finn liked the shrimp, corn pudding and the broccoli casserole.
ETC
Haagen-Dazs Caramel Cone and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
Dad’s homemade pound cake.
My dessert plate at the social. I ate all of this + another of the peanut butter chocolate crispy treats you see on the left.
I’ll be back with part two of recent eats in the next few days. 🙂
Do you play music in the background at home or when you work?
Did you eat any good desserts last week?
I always have some music on in the background! I’ve been studying the past few months for a certification and finally decided to do a 3-month free trial of Spotify Premium. My recent favorite has been the “Instrumental Study” playlist, I’ll have to check out your playlists!
All that food looks delicious ?
I use it so much for teaching so the premium membership is a must for me! Glad you are enjoying it. GOOD LUCK on your cert!
A new Also just opened a couple miles from my house and I am excited! I have never shopped there. Do you have any recommendations for Aldi specific foods/products? Thanks!
YOU MUST GO CHECK IT OUT! I need to pull together a post with my ALDI favorites! 🙂
Thanks for the encouragement ? I did check it out! Like your store, it is very open, bright, and clean. The produce was very well priced. I stocked up there!
I always have music in the background while I work. I like to put on a local radio station that plays a great mix of music (some oldies/classic rock and new local artists) but sometimes I’ll put on one of my yoga playlists or put it on “radio” mode and favorite songs that I might like for a future yoga playlist.
When I’m doing some really mindless work, I’ll put on a podcast, I like true crime ones. I listen to those with headphones so my coworkers don’t hear!
Yes, I love putting on “related” music to try to find new music for my playlists!
