Good morning and happy Monday! I am setting my intention to have a focused and productive week that includes LOTS of writing for my book. ๐
Before I dive into the new week, here’s a look back at a few weekend highlights.
Fun fact: my hair is naturally curly/wavy but I never wear it this way. I let the curls out on Friday for a little photo shoot action. I used the diffuser and curl defining mousse to style it.
I had the most perfect Saturday evening. First, I took a yoga class from the amazing Johnna Smith. She happened to be subbing which is a very rare occurrence. After class I showered at the studio and grabbed a few appetizers and wine at Mezzanotte. I loved the presentation of the mussels (and subsequently lost count of how many slices of bread I ate because dipping it in the sauce is the best part of ordering mussels!).
And then went to Massage Envy for a 90 minute massage. My therapist was really great and spent a lot of time on my hips and glutes to try and get them to release. I get a lot of gluteal nerve entrapment issues that cause my hips to be tight and sometimes ache and the massage helped so much. My hips have been a little sore since the massage but in a really good way.
Sunday was a yoga day, as always. I taught my 9:15 class at Y2 in my new pink Lululemon Wunder Unders that Lulu let me take home after the Friday photo shoot. I’m not really a pink girl but I’m embracing them. I taught this star variation of side plank (vasisthasana) to my yoga students at Y2 and Om Yoga over the weekend. I got my own practice in later in the day at Charlotte Yoga with my favorite teacher Suzanne Bergen.
After teaching I had Sunday brunch with the girls at Cafe Monte. I ordered an omelet with gruyere, spinach and roasted red peppers with mixed greens, fruit and multigrain toast. Excellent food and company!
I’ll leave you with this. I posted it on the Peanut Butter Runner Facebook page last night and it was quite a hit. Hope it puts a smile on your face (and makes you crave a PB&J!).
Have a great day!
Your weekend sounds like my ideal weekend – ha ha!!! Love the pink under wunders by the way!!
๐
your hair is beautiful! you should wear it like that more…it’s fun ๐ I have really straight hair but finally figured out (after 26 years) how to curl it and make it STAY! I use a straightener to curl it, of all the things. haha. glad you had a nice weekend ๐
Love your hair! Mine is naturally curly too and you will NEVER see me wear it like that but then again it never looks as good as yours does! You look so pretty!
photo shoot with Lulu!? details please!!
nothing exciting! it was just for a weekly product notification email for our local store. ๐
I think your hair looks great like that! My hair is naturally curly but usually straighten it, except when its really humid in the summer.
I have really tights hips and glutes too, and I am planning to get a massage next week- I can’t wait!
I LOVE the peanut butter toast…my husband never adds enough, Im always saying, thats all your eating!?! lol I think I eat more than him most days.
Totally made me crave a PB &J!
Great weekend of yoga! I am loving those pink tights!
Girl you need to wear your hair like that more often…It looks fabulous! I love when restaurants serve mussels with salty fries for dipping…It’s amazing! Have a great Monday!
YES! moule et frite is SO DELICIOUS!
Love the PB quote!! <3
Love peanut butter. So refreshing that you didn’t recommend almond butter, cashew butter, coconut butter or sunflower seed butter…all are good but peanut butter has been getting a bad rep these days…
pb will forever be my #1! ๐
That omelet is making me crave brunch. Drooool.
Your hair is beautiful natural ๐ Mine is very wavy as well and I am trying to embrace the curl more these days! Any tips for sleeping on the waves so they stay alive and bouncy the next day (I don’t wash my hair every day)? Also, I think gluteal nerve entrapment may be what I experience!? Could you possibly describe in more detail what the pain/tightness feels like and where exactly it is? Whenever I amp up my running mileage, it returns for a couple days, then settles down! It can be tender to the touch when it’s really acting up. I just have never pin-pointed what exactly it is to be able to treat it!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend ๐ I love your hair like that!
Photo shoot with lulu? Awesome!! Also, I love the naturally curly hair! Mine is naturally straight and I’m ALWAYS curling it. The grass is always greener… lol
Love the curls! Love pink Lulu tights! Love a weekend full of yoga! Love fried PB & J!!! Try it…fixed like grilled cheese only with peanut butter and jelly! Yum! Comfort!
I love those curls! You should wear it like that more ๐ And I love that peanut butter quote. Too funny!
Love the curls. My hair is the same way. I just found a new stylist and she wants to style my hair wavy sometime. I haven’t used a diffuser before so we’ll see!
Love the hair!!!
