Hey, hey. It’s a rainy, cold day in Charlotte which makes for lots of productivity on my end.

Our weather has been truly bizarre lately. On Thursday it was 75 degrees and I was running in shorts and a tank top. Sunday we woke up to snow. Today is rainy and chilly. I feel like this is the story of March in general. You think that spring is on the way but winter wants one last chance first. This upcoming week is supposed to be one of our coldest yet of the winter.
Weekend
Rewinding to share a few weekend pictures before a workout recap and your workout playlist for the week. Let me just start by saying that I’m sure no one is going to be envious of the weekend we had.
On Friday night we were at the studio until midnight painting. You might remember that we painted the downstairs heated studios a few months ago but we had a ton more painting to do. Now that we’ve been in our new space for two years, many areas were in need of refreshing and we wanted to add color in others. We assembled a crew of about 20 volunteers (thank god) and divided and conquered to paint the men’s and women’s locker rooms, a hallway, some walls in our retail area, walls leading up the stairs, the spa reception area and our upstairs non-heated studio.
We are bringing in professionals for some of the more technical painting jobs but it just wasn’t in the budget for the whole project. It was a long night but we were so, so grateful for the help from our staff and some of our teacher trainees. There were many pieces of pizza eaten, glasses of wine drunk, messes made and laughs had. I ate a sushi roll, a slice of cheese pizza and some chocolate cake. To say that I didn’t feel amazing the next morning would be an understatement. 😛
We both taught on Saturday morning before coming home to start packing. The pups were NOT thrilled about the boxes and the mess…at all. Zoey spent most of the day on top of this stack of broken down boxes with her bone.
And we found Sullie on the couch.
On Sunday we woke up to a dusting of snow!
I doubled my paleo banana bread recipe and baked a loaf of bread + 8 muffins. I’m hooked on this recipe again right now if you can’t tell.
Breakfast was eggs, bacon, banana bread, fruit and coffee.
The girls played in the snow before it melted.
It was gone as quickly as it came. Most of the snow was melted by early afternoon.
I was feeling so tired and lethargic on Sunday afternoon but I knew a workout would turn my day around. I headed over to FlyWheel to take Shane’s FlyBeats class. It was AMAZING and I felt like a new woman after class. Shane is an awesome teacher. The playlist was on point and I loved the energy in the FlyBeats class.
I came home and took the girls for a walk and then taught yoga and ran to the grocery store before ending the evening packing again. We’re making good progress. So excited for this move! (And I wish I could tell the pups not to worry and that they will love it too.)

Is your weather as weird as ours?
Any new favorite workouts?
Was your weekend fun or a business/chores kind of weekend?
Pups! So cute!
Atlanta weather has definitely been crazy. It’s colder now than it was in January! I’m kind of enjoying getting to be all cozy though.
I can agree that we definitely missed to opportunity to be cozy in the cold in January. It was nuts!
It was SO COLD here this past weekend! We didn’t even make it over 30 degrees and now it is a blizzard and it’s dumping snow, cold, and freezing. Waiting to loose power! Oh March you are always a interesting month! Good Luck packing!
I am so, so, so sorry for your cold and snow. I mean, seriously, it’s just terrible. Hope you are keeping warm. Sunnier days are coming for you!
The weather has been so weird here – snow (complete with a snowman) in the am, and a totally clear lawn by the weekend. Over a decade here and it’s still weird to this former New England gal.
Re new workouts – have been making a concerted effort to reincorporate yoga back into my routine, including my first 2 hot classes in 8-9 years!
YES to your hot yoga practices. I am so proud. How did they feel!?
Won’t lie, they were challenging, but also fun! Felt pretty good afterwards and looking forward to doing more. 🙂 I’m in Charlotte, so I actually took them at y2 and really enjoyed both!
I’m just commenting on all the posts I’m catching up on today, haha! I think shane is my favorite flybeats instructor! I try to take his class once a week, it’s so fun but also so tough! Glad I missed the snow by traveling this weekend, it’s almost like this cold weather seems even COLDER because of the warm weather tease a few weeks ago!
