On Saturday night I saw one of the worst movies I’ve seen in quite a while. Maybe it’s not fair to say “the worst” because it wasn’t that the acting, special effects, etc was that bad…it was more the overwhelming amount of graphic action.
It was Olympus Has Fallen. I just cannot hang with nonstop violence, shooting, killing, attacking and that is exactly what this movie was all about. The story was actually interesting but the movie was a blood bath and I had to cover my eyes and look away from the screen on many occasions. It was definitely an action thriller and I can’t say there were really any slow parts to the movie, I just wish that the violence could have been dialed back just a bit…but I guess that’s why I’m not a Hollywood producer. 😉
I needed pizza and a glass of wine to recover from that movie watching experience. Seriously, there is no way I could have gone straight to bed after that. I went to the new Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar where I started with a Ceasar salad and then had the chicken meatball pizza at my server’s recommendation. It was my first time at the restaurant and I really liked the atmosphere and the food was good.
Fast forward to Sunday. I taught my 9:15 a.m. “yoga church” at Y2 and then headed over to Metro to train a client. It was SUCH a beautiful day so I carried some equipment outside and made her train outside. All we used was a kettlebell, some dumbbells, a medicine ball, a jump rope and a sandbag but I think she got the tough workout she was looking for. Sometimes a change of scenery is so nice.
After I worked her out I ate lunch and then worked myself out. I ran five miles. It wasn’t pretty but I got them done. I think I averaged a 9:45 pace overall which is slow for me but running continues to kick my ass so I did the best I could.
After my run I whipped up some food to take to a cookout. This feta dip was DELICIOUS and I cannot wait to use the leftovers with chicken.
I also made a batch of no-bake peanut butter chocolate oat balls that ended up being quite the crowd favorite.
My dinner plate at the cookout…caprese salad, cole slaw, grilled zucchini and a burger wrapped in lettuce. It was the perfect end to my weekend.
I spent the remainder of the evening tackling a super secret baking project (if you follow me on Instagram you got a sneak peek). Can’t wait for my next post to share what I’m up to!!! 😀
Do you have the recipe for the no bake peanut butter oat balls? I would love to make them!
all that cookout food is making me craveeeeee summertime even worse than I already was! Gimme a hamburger!
have you been to Crispy Crepe in SouthEnd. Went there last night and the bruschetta crepe with chicken was great!! N
Really want a sunny day like that where I can take my workouts outside. Wanna trade states? 🙂
Do you have any advice on how I can tackle my fear of clearly being the ‘new girl’ in a yoga class? I really want to start incorporating yoga 2-3 nights per week into my schedule but I get so self-conscious in new environments and feel like I’m being judged =/
That movie looked horrible when I saw the previews…non stop violence! Were you able to sleep after that? I love being able to train clients outside. It is so good for them to get outdoors, since most of them work in offices and are cooped up all day. Happy Monday! 🙂
yes, i could sleep after pizza and wine helped me forget the violence! 😉
Please share that feta dip recipe! Also, the hyperlink to your Instagram account didn’t work (it took me to Instragram instead). I was trying to find you on Instagram to follow but found a different Peanut Butter Runner and wasn’t sure if it was your account. Thanks!
I took all my classes outside today (except spin). The change was amazing in everyone’s energy and attitude! I am hosting a cookout this wkend and your wkend food may me even more ready for it!
OMG I love, love food! And I love the warmer weather which is making it SO nice to workout outside! Really, there is hardly any excuse for not exercising that can stand up to sunny, blue skies.
