Good morning.
My 6 a.m. yoga class was sloooooowwww this morning. I couldn’t figure out where everyone was until we broke for core work and I commented on the low attendance and my students reminded me about the NCAA basketball championship. Apparently most of Charlotte (and the state of NC!) stayed up late last night watching the Tarheels take home the championship (for the 6th time!).
I never stop at Starbucks after class but I decided to treat myself to a latte today. ๐
I’ll be heading back to the studio to teach at 11:15 a.m. and the rest of my day is working on some blog post projects, getting our previous home 100% cleared out (today is the last day of our lease), selling a few more pieces of furniture there (I’ve been working Facebook Marketplace like a crazy lady…highly recommend selling stuff there!), getting my hair colored and teaching at the Y tonight.
Before I tackle that list of to-do’s, here is your workout playlist for the week and a recap of last week’s workouts.
This Week’s Workout Playlist
And here is a link to the playlist on Spotify.

Love those box squats!
Saturday: FlyWheel + 3 mile hike with the girls
Sunday: 5 mile run at 8:30ish pace
Two final things.
- I love running in the rain (as long as it’s not cold or thundering/lightening). I put my phone in a plastic bag and zone out to music. It’s so meditative and peaceful.
- I can freaking never remember my workouts from the week before and have to rack my brain and go through my phone to try to remember! ๐
Do you like running in the rain?
Can you remember your workouts from the week before?
Did you watch the NCAA National Championship?
man, 6am. It just seems so early. Which is ironic for me to say because I use to go to a 5am HIIT class. I’m more of a mid-morning run/yoga class goer now.
I love when you post your workouts that involve doing rounds…I definitely use them! I ran the Rock n’ Roll Nashville 1/2 Marathon in a downpour ALL 13.1 miles. It was interesting, but thank goodness for all the people who came out to support us.
I’ll run in the rain if it’s not a complete downpour! It’s refreshing sometimes, especially if it’s clearing out the southern humidity.
I went to UNC so of course I stayed up and watched the game…it was amazing!
Remembering workouts…I use an excel document to keep track of miles and then just general cross training days…I don’t get too specific with those but I do that even though I have the fancy watch and all haha. Old-school just works better sometimes.
Running in the rain…depends on how heavy it is and if I can find rain gear. It can be nice sometimes though, and peaceful.
Given that I go to Burn Boot Camp at least 3x a week, I can generally remember the theme of those days, if not the entire workout. Makes it easier to remember the other days’ workouts, but ill be honest and say I don’t pay close attention once it’s done. ๐
And I was way too tired to stay up for the game on Monday. Too much fun over the weekend – including watching games on Sat at Queen Park Social (so cool) – and my teams weren’t I the mix so I headed to bed early. ๐
Hi Jen! My name is Nicole, I just started yoga a couple of weeks ago(I’m already obsessed and wonder why I’ve waited so long to add it to my work out routine – Y2 has been so amazing/life changing for me)! A friend of mine told me about your blog – LOVE it, so entertaining and informative:)
I wish I would have grabbed you after class tonight, but it didn’t truly hit until I was getting into my car. Do you have any advice on strained lower intercostal muscles(literally NO joke)? TIA!
I hope y’all have the BEST time this weekend:)
These are my favorite posts that your write and I am always saving your strength workouts to my phone and trying them on my own! Thanks for sharing!! ๐
