Oh my gosh…today has been perfection. First, I slept until 9:30 a.m. for a whopping total of 10 hours of sleep last night. Life changed.
Second, I had an entire day with nowhere I had to be and nothing I had to do and it felt awesome. I didn’t put on makeup and stayed in pajamas most of the day. It was warm and sunny so I spent a lot of time on my grandmother’s porch working building a website for a new venture a friend and I am launching soon. I am really bad about carving time out for big picture stuff like this so it was great to have a day to dedicate to it.ย
I definitely got my love for random “a little of this, a little of that” lunches from my grandmother. Chicken salad, pimento cheese, apples, crackers and cheese.
And I cooked a simple but good dinner tonight. Rice, chicken, kale sprouts and cornbread muffins.
After spending most of the day sitting, I needed to break to move my body before dinner.
I hadn’t done any strength/circuit training this week so I wanted to get some bodyweight stuff in. I ran 2.3 miles and then ended up at the park where I did the following circuit.
After I finished I ran another mile home. It was a great little workout and nice to do it all outdoors.
The highlight of the experience was having four little kids join me for my workout. The park was pretty crowded because it was such a nice day. There were a few little kids running around while their dads were playing basketball. First they started mimicking what I was doing and then they started counting with me and getting really into it. They asked me what else I taught and I told them yoga. They’d never heard of yoga and were eager to try it so we did some yoga a the end. Their moms thanked me for keeping them busy! ๐
Okay, here are the rest of my workouts for the week. Very light on the strength/HIIT. Wasn’t feeling it.

Do you have any favorite outdoor bodyweight workouts? What did your weekend workouts look like?ย
Love this!! We have a park very close by, so I’ll have to try it out!
Sounds like a workout challenge I’m willing to take!
Nothing better than glorious sleep! Looks like a beautiful day out there too! Can’t wait to learn about your new venture ๐
I lounged around yesterday until noon in my favorite sweats doing some work to get a jump start on the week. It was glorious!
Your weekend sounds very similar to my spring break. Lots of sleep, good food and no set plans. It was pretty perfect and much needed! Whenever I used to go to the park with the kids I babysat I was reminded how you can make a workout out of the equipment there. Those monkey bars are always tough.
This was a great little workout. I just did it in my basement while my 3 month old is napping upstairs. I have to admit I only did 5 pull-ups (with a band!) each round, but I added a minute of plank variations between each round to make up for it ๐ And no warm up run for me, but I ran 10.5km yesterday which is my longest run since having the baby. AND…I just made your peanut butter chia seed granola. So yummy and so addicting! I love the workouts you post that are easily doable at home…makes it so much easier to workout on my own when the baby is sleeping. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Oooh, I love cornbread!
10 hours of sleep…that is AMAZING and obviously you needed it. I love when we are able to rest of our bodies…have no plans…and can just chill. I know our bodies enjoy as much as we do. ๐
I traveled this weekend, too, and slept until I woke both days…glorious!
Do we get to hear about your new venture that you are launching?
that is so adorable that the kids joined you…I love that!
Ahhh, doesn’t it feel great to be rested.
Lounged in the warm sun, went to the beach (North shore of Oahu), ran 3.5 mi, drank wine, ate cheese and poki.
Loved every bit of the weekend.
I love that you had little ones join in your workout. THAT made me smile. And you introduced them to yoga, even better.
