I am home in Charlotte after spending the last week in Georgia. I think this was the longest I’ve been away from Charlotte in almost two years. While I appreciated every second of time being with my family, it was so wonderful to see my girls and get a big hug from my fiance after an emotional week.
I had a pretty strong week of workouts despite being away. There’s a nice gym that offers Les Mills classes that I joined for the week and I got some running in. I did miss my yoga practice but I’ll be getting lots of that in over the next two months as I am participating in our annual yoga challenge at the studio.
Monday
BodyPump + BodyAttack
So I wanted to get some cardio in after BodyPump and BodyAttack was starting right after. I decided to give it a go and holy crap! I was sweating like crazy after 5 minutes. Fun workout.
Tuesday
3 mile run + yoga
I got a quick three mile run in and then visited a yoga studio that opened recently in my grandmother’s small town. It was a lovely class and a great stretch! Felt good.
Wednesday
5 rounds:
10 pull ups
20 wall balls
20 kettlebell deadlifts
10 burpees
20 sit ups
Did this on my own at the gym.
Thursday
5 mile run
Sunset run along the river.
Friday
BodyPump
Saturday
6.5 mile run
Another river run. Since I missed the Thunder Road Half, I decided to run “half of a half.” haha
It was a gorgeous day for a run. 60 degrees, sunny and beautiful scenery!
Sunday
Hot yoga
Home sweet sweaty Y2 Yoga home! ๐ I taught and took a class.
Tell me about your week of workouts? Did anyone race this weekend? How did it go!?
Love the looks of that “5 rounds” circuit – I want to do it this week! I sort of front-loaded my workouts this week and then thoroughly enjoyed a lighter, restful weekend. Hope everything is alright with your family <3
It was a good one! Thank you!
Hi Jen,
Glad you returned home safely. I haven’t been getting email updates when you have a new post for the past week or so, maybe a little longer. Thanks!
Thanks for letting me know! We’ll look into it!
Great job squeezing in workouts even when you’re traveling!
Thanks! The weather was too perfect to not run at least a few times!
Beautiful place to run ๐
I’m so missing bodypump….but I would need to join a gym again ๐
I rarely do it anymore, but I love it when I get the chance to take a class!
Glad you are back home safe! I hope everything is ok.
I didn’t race this weekend but the guy sitting next to me at the doctors office ran the Thunder Road Half… thought of you ๐
Hey Julie, thanks so much for the well wishes. All is good.
Hey Jen! Just wanted to say I really love your week of workouts. As a trainer, it’s nice to be able to pull great workouts from others when you just can’t think anymore! Funny story. Thursday last week, I had my class do the Christmas Cookie Cutter. My other trainer/class instructor came in for the class and started giggling. Here, she had her morning class do the SAME WORKOUT!!!! But she made them do 30 reps of a core exercise between each exercise. Thank you for being a fantastic, reliable source for all things fitness, nutrition, insight, and more. Sincerely,
Alicia
Hey Alicia,
Thanks so much for the comment and for trying my workouts. I couldn’t agree with you more on needing workout inspiration. I joke all the time that I need to hire a trainer for myself!
I love the story about your fellow trainer using the same workout! Makes me feel so happy that people are using my workouts! ๐
Please feel free to share any great workouts you might have. I’m always looking for new inspiration!
