It was a low-key weekend in Charlotte and just what I needed in preparation for a busy April. Here are the highlights in photos.
Saturday lunch. Trader Joe’s Masala burger on an English muffin with avocado, spinach, cheddar, sprouts and ketchup.
Finishing up the 7-day green smoothie challenge.
Sullie gets a bath. And is grumpy about it after.
Pedicure, magazines and wine was necessary for Saturday evening recovery after a long day of housework and surviving the hottest yoga class of my life.
Roasted veggie, sweet potatoes and tempeh.
Plated with goat cheese on the taters.
Sunday breakfast before teaching hot class.
Rediscovered an old favorite song and played it in savasana. Everyone loved. It’s beautiful.
Sunday brunch ready to be wrapped up.
Breakfast burrito with a scrambled egg, Morningstar spicy “sausage,” sautéed spinach and peppers, pepper jack, avocado, sour cream and salsa in a whole wheat tortilla. So good.
I ran 5.5 miles this afternoon. Longest run in months and it felt great.
Tried a new chocolate chip cookie recipe. It was a winner. (Run and bake cookies…it’s what I do!)
Ended my Sunday on my mat. I skipped all of the classes that I normal attend in favor of a solo ashtanga practice. I did about 30 minutes of a power mixed class and then moved to the other room to do primary series. It was perfect.
I hope your weekend was what you wanted it to be. Happy April. It’s a new month and an opportunity for fresh starts and new goals.
Jealous.
Sounds like an awesome weekend to me!
I completely forgot how much I love Tracy Chapman! Thanks for the reminder, hope you have a great week. xoxo
I also forgot about Tracy Chapman! About a year ago I was listening to her stuff on repeat — not sure how I let that go. So soothing!
Sullie is the cutest! I’m getting a rescue puppy soon and am torn between a golden retriever and a labrador retriever. I definitely want a dog I can eventually run with!
retrievers are great dogs! smart and family friendly. i wouldn’t change my decision to get a golden for anything. they are the sweetest and so loyal. and freaking adorable puppies! 🙂
sounds like a great weekend! all of your meals looked delicious, and sullie is so cute, as usual! 🙂
I love that Tracy Chapman song!

Have a wonderful week.
I love Trader Joe’s Masala burger!
Hi Jen. I have been following your blog for quite sometimes.
I move to other country at end of last year and currently has no excess to gym or group workout.
You did posted few Crossfit WOD and I found it really useful for me. I would like request, once in a while, if you could post some of the crossfit WOD in your blog so that I could imitate myself.
Thank you.
Looks like a wonderful weekend!! I continue to be so impressed with your meal preparation. Everything looks so healthy, delicious – and pretty! Hope you have a great week!!
thank you! i have enjoyed trying to mix things up a bit lately on the food front. hope you have a good week too!
Loved the video of Sullie!!! So cute 🙂 Trader Joe’s veggie burgers are the best! I would also love some of that cookie dough.. YUM!
Mellow weekends are the best weekends! Lots of sleep, healthy eats, yoga…a great way to clear the mind and prepare for the new month and new week. I need to try those burgers. They look so good. Happy Monday! 🙂
2 heaters? Directed right onto you? You’re a rockstar. I try to stay as far away from those things as possible- haha!
haha – i love the heat!
Do you bathe Sullie yourself? I’m impressed. Murphy is afraid of the bathroom in general. I cannot get him into the tub at all. We take him to Petsmart.
That Tracy Chapman song reminds me of college. Or maybe high school.
That video is hilarious! So adorable though 🙂 Those roasted veggies look amazing!
What a great weekend!!! I am so in love with Sullie <3
Sullie is too cute! Food looks amazing and I really want a burrito right now. Great job getting out for that run!
You mean, run, bake cookies AND do a whole lotta’ yoga!
I’m loving the look of that green smoothie – especially the pint glass. 😉
Best breakfast burrito. EVER.
We are running shoe twins! Love those BRIGHT purple laces 😉 It’s so impressive how eclectic your food selections are. I know you frequently say you’re a creature of habit…but coming from someone who eats one too many pb and js, you are gourmet! Looks like a fun weekend, happy Monday!
thank you! i have been putting in a real effort recently to get more creative with my food. i was in a run! 🙂
i love the asics. i was a long-time brooks fan and recently switched and i’m a fan!
Love the video of Sully – too cute!
