I was going to write my final fourth trimester post tonight but there were just too many feels for me to adequately express this ride in a coherent and/or helpful way. Sooooo I’m going to sit with them for a few days and then wrap up the fourth trimester a little later this week.
Instead, how about some diaper bag talk and a diaper bag giveaway? (I know some of you are closing this browser tab in 3…2…1…) But really, this is probably the most “mom” blog post title that I have written thus far. I’ll understand if you want to move along but even if you aren’t a mom of a little, these backpack-style diaper bags are WAY more backpack than diaper bag and you might like checking them out! 😉
PRODUCT OF THE NORTH DIAPER BAGS
The team at Product of the North reached out to me and offered to send me one of their functional but stylish diaper bags. I couldn’t decide between their two backpack offerings…so they sent me both and told me that I could give the other one away to a reader.
They sent me the Elkin and Westin bags. I decided to go with the Westin (right). Some of the features of this bag include…
- Hands-free magnetized body flap closure
- Laptop compartment
- Removable changing pad
- Internal slip organization pockets
- Internal zipper pocket
- Exterior water bottle pockets
- Large exterior front pocket with removable key fob
The Elkin bag has very similar features but is a little smaller. I decided to go with the bigger Westin bag in anticipation of all the things I might need to carry with me once Finn is a little older!
One thing I love about both of these bags is that they have dedicated laptop compartments. This is a must for me given that I have to squeeze work in whenever I can and essential for travel because I like to pack both of our things in one bag.
I love that Product of the North says that it “isn’t just a name, it is a belief that every baby is a product of heaven, which is why we honor this gift with our brand name, Product of the North.” And I mean it when I say these bags are so not diaper bag. Their website states, “Our focus and vision is to provide quality crafted product that parents can be proud of and continue to use well after their baby is grown and developed. From the humble beginnings of a new parent, to the well adapted mother and father, Product of the North wants to be there to help you along the way.”
WHAT’S IN MY DIAPER BAG
You guys were so helpful in sharing what you carry in your diaper bags that I thought I’d give you a look at what I carry with me!
- Muslin blankets – these are great for everything! I use them as nursing covers, blankets, car seat drapes, changing pads, burp cloths (in a pinch!), etc.
- A clean shirt for mom – because you never know when you’re going to get spit up on! 🙂
- A couple of outfits for Finn – because…blowouts and spit up!
- Little Remedies Gas Drops
- Snack bars for mama
- Soothie pacifiers – these are by FAR Finn’s fave!
- Cloth diaper burp cloths – so absorbent
- Diapers – Pampers seem to fit Finn best. Remember when I said I was going to cloth diaper? Ugh. I’m sad to give up on that goal but I’m trying to choose my battles at the moment.
- Water Wipes – this is 100% my favorite wipe brand
Like I said, I know this will grow with time but we’re able to keep it pretty simple for now!
GIVEAWAY!
Want to enter to win the Elkin bag? Leave a comment below telling me about a total “mom moment” that you’ve had. Something that made you think, “wow…I am so a mom now.” Like me writing an enthusiastic post today about diaper bags…haha!
Giveaway closes Friday at midnight EST. U.S. shipping only. One entry per person.
I have 3.5 year old twins and another on the way. My Mom moments are always when I say things that only a Mom could say… like, “Please don’t lick the table, or no we don’t pick up random cigarette butts or any for that matter.” Haha! We just got back from vacation with our little and these scenarios are fresh on my mind as we were in various public places!
I’m a mom of three but they are not babies anymore. I’m about to have my third grand baby boy due in October. All of these belong to my oldest daughter. They will all be 18 months apart!! I think she is great and I love being s help to her and the boys.
My own baby moment was when my second daughter theee years and had gotten into my makeup and it was all over her. It looked like blood so my husband and I freaked out for a few seconds until we figured it out!! She was trying to look pretty? She’s 23 now so she would totally stress if she knew I told that story!
My daughter that is about to have the third baby boy has went through two diaper bags with the other two and if I won this one this would make a great for her to try. She is so organized with her boys and they always have what they need on the go.
I love your posts and I’ve been following you for around three years now due to a friends suggestion. Fin is so adorable and I hope he stays healthy and happy ?
April W.
I am a first-time mom to be (due Feb 2019) and would LOVE to win this 🙂 Ever since becoming pregnant I’ve become so much more emotional when I see tiny babies. Right after I found out I was pregnant I was out to dinner with my husband and started tearing up when I saw a newborn in the restaurant – those tiny little fingers and toes just get me! I’ve also been watching some birth stories on YouTube and the moment the mom is handed the baby for the first time I just absolutely lose it. Big, giant, dinosaur tears. I can’t wait for that very special moment!
I’ve got 2 boys under 2.5 years old, with hopeful plans for a few more, so I could definitely put this bag to good use! My favorite mom moment had to be when I said to my 2.5 year old today, “Wilder, we don’t roll your brother up in the rug. That’s not nice.” Lol. #boymom life 😉 Just you wait!!!!
P.S. Finn is suuuuuppppeeeerrr cute!
I have an almost two year old boy and am anxiously awaiting my little girl coming in September. This mom moment post made me laugh because I have SO MANY! I’m constantly amazed…motherhood changes you so completely, and I find myself turning into my mother more and more everyday. My latest revelation was that when attending a baseball game – rare date night….security had to check my real, nondiaper purse. To my amazement/embarrassment all I had was a giant size 6 diaper, loose bank card, and 5 half eaten tether crackers. What a weirdo! Wouldn’t change it for anything… hugs!
I’m due in November so no moments yet! And I’m in the market for a backpack style diaper bag, don’t have one yet.
So stylish and functional – love it! Mom of 3 now so a backpack diaper bag is a must because there are definitely no extra arms available! Total mom moment happened tonight as the baby hasn’t had a good poop in a couple of days and I said something to my husband about him just needing a good blowout poop! I for sure never thought that would be something I’d ask for before becoming a mom!!
I have 4 year old twins. I.work part time, and once in a meeting, I excuses myself, and said I had to “go potty!”
My oldest is 5 so i am starting to forget the time before everything was a mom moment but I just had my 3rd which keeps me on my toes. My “mom”’thing is that I am always ready to go with a bag packed so that as soon as my kids are ready we can rush out the door. Every night I repack/replenish my bag so that we don’t lose any time when the kids are awake. The Elkin bag looks perfectly functional!
Being a mom is the funniest sometimes. I think one of my most memorable mom moments was when I was getting my daughter ready to leave for day care (her dad takes her on his way to work) and he was about to leave when he points out that i had poop on my neck! I had changed her dirty diaper when she woke up, and somehow poop manged to find its way onto my neck (seriously sometimes there is just so much and its gets everywhere!!!) and had been there for probably 30 minutes without me even realizing it. I think pre-baby I would find this pretty gross, but now, whatever. Its just poop 🙂
We can bike to school (so fun!) and this year I’ll have a second grader and kindergartner (and a 2 year old and 2 month old at home still). I always feel like SUCH A MOM when I want to yell at all the drivers going “too fast” in our neighborhood in the morning with all the kids trying to get to school. But for real, people… SLOW DOWN. Being a parent really is so fun and brings out the funniest things you never thought you’d do.
Pregnancy is constant mom brain! I’m so tired of forgetting words like fire truck…
My mom moment: walking around topless leaking milk, with a baby in one hand and a dog in the other, looking for a pacifier, thinking I need to unload the dishwasher
My second baby is due in February and we are soooo excited for the new addition. Would also LOVE a backpack bag with a newborn and toddler! I have enjoyed slowing down as a mom
Seems opposite, but before my daughter I was definitely fill every space of my day
Now, we walk, discover nature, make cloud pictures and EMBRACE what is around us. Incredible grateful for this change on myself.
One of my best mom moments was on a plane from stl to Phoenix. My son who was 2 months at the time was breastfeed and he sometimes went very long stretches without pooping (I didn’t know this was normal until baby 2)! Well the day of our flight was day 10!!! Don’t you know that as soon as the seatbelt sign went off I felt this odd dripping on my hand. Well sure enough he had pooped. He pooped so much he ruined his clothes with an epic blowout. He ruined my shirt he ruined my pants and my underwear. I had to sit the rest of the 3hrs in dirty pants and I had to take off my shirt and wear my jacket. This is the trip where I learned to take some extra clothes for myself. I wasn’t a happy camper, everyone else thought it was hilarious !
I’m not due with my first until Jan/Feb, so I haven’t had that moment yet – until I remember what’s actually growing in there! It’s unreal…
Every time I’d think about how often my kids were pooping as babies, I’d laugh and think about how I’d never thought I’d ever care so much about another person’s BMs. ?
Aside – don’t need to be in the giveaway but figured this might be something relatable, LOL.
Watching him play and knowing when he is going face plant it
I’ve had to have more than one conversation with my young sons about respecting each other’s space and not touching each other’s private areas. My oldest said very loudly the other day in the middle of an aisle at Target to his brother “don’t touch my penis!” His brother was not even close to him at the time. There was more than one mom laughing out loud at that.
Pumping in an airport bathroom. Reese. Gotta do what you gotta do!
What an awesome giveaway!! I am currently 6.5 months pregnant and the mom moments just keep coming! I am emotional around basically any baby and their Momma. Anytime I see a man with a baby, I just picture my husband and future daughter, and bam emotional wreck again! I treat my dog like a sweet baby and get sad thinking about rocking her world with another sweet baby. I also find myself talking to teenagers ( I am a high school teacher, so not out of the norm) and giving them advice my mom would give, not something I used to sound like!
Total Mom moment – putting Abby in her pool float in our temporary apartment pool, amongst all the early 20 year olds who are popping champagne bottles and blasting Odeza. Or in general, when I’m hauling Big Ern and Abby’s BOB through the apartment complex to get our mail and getting crazy looks 😉
The first time I uttered the words “we don’t lick shoes!”
I’m due in 5 weeks and I got super excited when I saw the name of this post! I also got excited when I opened a diaper pail at my shower and my cousins, who are in college, said “a trash can..?” ?
I got both kids smoothies in the grocery store to keep them occupied, well my 2.5 year old dropped the whole smoothie on the floor. My legs and sandals were covered in smoothie. Good thing, I had wipes for a quick clean up. #totalmommoment.
The bags look awesome! Thanks!
I am due with my 3rd boy this month and have total pregnancy brain. My oldest son (5 years) lost a tooth last week and put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. I completely spaced on it and forgot my fairy duties that night. He was devastated the next morning when the tooth fairy didn’t come so I told him a lot of kids must have lost teeth that day and the tooth fairy was so busy, but she would definitely come tonight if he put his tooth under his pillow again! I set an alarm for myself that night to make sure I didn’t forget again!
My girls know that the tooth fairy has a full 48 hours to navigate through the messy bedroom and evaluate the tooth. Sometimes the tooth fairy is really busy!!!
My daughter is older now, but I think only a mom would run across the room to catch vomit before it hits the couch. Good times, lol.
Such a cute bag! My mom moments come often these days as a mom to a 2.5 year old…mostly surrounding how we only put food in our mouths. And not toys or sticks or shoes! ?
Love this! I thinky first omgmom moment was when I was 2 weeks postpartum and I looked in the mirror and thought— wow, I basically look like someone who is going as a ‘new mom’ for Halloween. Hair disheveled, burp cloth over shoulder, spit up on button up shirt, under eye circles.. all the things! Definitely my go-to Halloween costume from now on ?
I am a first time mom to a beautiful 10 month old girl. I found myself singing nursery rhymes to myself during naptime the other day. I’m guessing she will be 18 by the time these songs get out of my head!
Cute Bag!! No Mom moments just yet! I am Due In November. Cant wait to have some exciting mom moments though!! 🙂
I love reading everyone else’s “mom moments” and resonate with so many of them. 🙂 We have two boys, ages 3 and 1 1/2, and are expecting our 3rd little guy any day now! (Aaaaah!!!)
I’ve had so many mom moments in the past 3 years, but a few stick out more than others. Like how I went from having almost a prudish sense of modesty to not caring AT ALL if an accidental nip slip happens while I’m nursing my little ones in public. Or when I traded in my compact car for a minivan and embraced yoga pants and Starbucks runs. (Seriously. My 3-year-old has my normal order memorized…) Most recently, I realized just how “mom” I’ve become when I potty trained our oldest and became a poop cheerleader. If someone had told me pre-children how excited I’d be about my toddler’s poop, I would’ve thought they were nutso.
What a great giveaway! I’m due in September and we have been looking for a backpack style diaper bag. Pregnancy brain and all the emotions are getting me ready for Mom moments 🙂
I have been on this journey right along with you. My baby was born one day before Finn, on May 16 via unplanned c section as well. This is my first baby so everything is brand new to me! I’ve had a lot of “mom moments” especially when I read your blogs and I can relate to almost the exact same thing! Seeing my son go accomplish the same milestones as baby Finn is crazy. I sit here and read and say to myself “omg you too??” That’s when it hit me, wow I’m a mom now! The love for my little brussel sprout, the middle of the night feedings, the leaking through shirts, waking up to soaked sheets, not having any time to do anything unless it’s 4 am and you JUST put the baby back to sleep and having to choose to eat breakfast because you’re SO hungry or catching an hour of sleep. Lol! They’re all there! I love each and every moment and I’m glad I have found your blog so I have someone to relate to every step of the way.
My mom came with me to my daughter’s first pediatrician appointment when my daughter was just 5 days old. The nurse was asking questions and asked, “And what’s mom’s name?” I just looked at my mom, like, hello, mom. Say your name! An they were both looking at me – the question was to me! Ha! Right, I’m the mom now!
I have a 9 month old and due on Jan 9. 2019 with baby number 2. Would love to have this backpack diaper bag so I can be hands free and love that it has a laptop compartment as I find myself carrying lots of bags. I had a mom moment when i was trying to change a diaper at a restaurant and they had no infant changing table and they told me to put two chairs together and change the diaper, I started changing the diaper and poop was everywhere and my baby was moving so much it was hard to change the diaper. We finally accomplished the task, and we go back to our table, and a friend of mine said, honey you have poop on your shirt. I was thinking okay now time for mommy to get clean. Made for some great laughs. Lol. I am loving every moment.
due in November, so no “mom” moments buuuut I’ve had some whopper pregnancy ones!
Last week I forgot where I parked at work (in a five floor below ground garage…) and I wandered from floor 4 to floor 5, then back up to floor 3 (where I found my car). Along the way, a man who had exited the elevator came driving around and rolled down his window to say “You’re in the twilight zone”… ! Oof.
This might be TMI but the day I realized i was officially a “mom” is the day I got pooped AND peed on, during two separate diaper changes, and didn’t really care! I have a diaper bag but am looking for a second one for when I have to send my daughter to day care starting next week ?
Ummm… I’m not a mom, so I don’t exactly have a mom moment. However, I am a new dad and I found myself thrilled to be reading a mom’s post about diaper bags and what you carry in yours! I hadn’t thought of the extra shirt idea – thanks!
New dad moment though – changing my son in the airplane bathroom! Ditto in the trunk of the car!
The bags look cool, functional. I like the backpack style. Oh, and we love Water Wipes too!
I just became a mom of two under two. This is more like my biggest mommy brain moment. Lol. My new son was in his swing and his big sister went to give him a kiss. I guess she had snacks in her mouth or hand and dropped a piece of cereal on the swing so when he kicked his feet a few seconds later it came rolling out the swing. And for some reason my first thought was “omg! His toe fell off!” I’m not sure why I thought it was his toe but I defuhad a mini heart attack.
I have 2 under 2 which makes life exciting (and by exciting i mean crazy. One recent Friday night my coworkers were all at happy hour but I had to come home and sure enough my toddler made it a night to remember by pooping in the tub, then pooping into the tub we moved him into. ??♀️ All i could do was laugh as I put on rubber gloves to tend to what my husband called a “code brown”.
Catching puke with my hand without gagging was a total mom moment for me.
Just this past Saturday I was at a wedding and of my friends I was the only with littles (2 sweet girls). We’re all standing around chatting, drinking wine and I had to break to change a poopy diaper on the floor ?
I have a 6 week old and last night we were having some time in our activity gym. I was moving my daughters legs around and started clapping her hands together. She gave me the biggest grin! She is just starting to smile and that grin made my eyes tear up and made my heart about to burst. One of the best feelings thus far on my journey as a first time parent.
When I had a newborn and a 2.5 yo at our favorite playground and became desperate for a bathroom. I had been chugging water all morning to keep up with nb’s breastfeeding needs. With no way of making it back home in time, I had no choice but to “go” in a size six diaper in the front seat of our car. Being a mother is real. Every single second of every day and night.
Current Mom moment: sitting here with my 7 week old asleep on my chest, drinking cold coffee because I need him to get a good nap so we can go grocery shopping ??♀️ With a newborn there are so many!
I am currently pregnant and due in November with our first! So no Mom moments while our baby has been earthside yet, but definitely some pregnancy Mom moments! When we see a good deal on baby items we know we want to purchase and my husband gets excited about saving money on baby stuff 🙂
When I caught myself saying “Hayden, get up & stop drinking Nates(our dog) water.
He was literally on all fours with his face in the water bowl drinking it!
That time that a wind storm knocked a birds nest into our lawn, scattering baby robins into the grass and visible for pray; my reaction was to cry. That is when I actually said outloud: “ wow, I’m so a mom now”
My little one is 10 months old. Since going back to work I’ve noticed that when I’m holding my laptop I rock it like a baby or when I put it down on tables I make rocket ship sounds ??♀️
The diaper bag looks awesome and very functional for on the go days! Would be quite helpful for my little lady going back forth between her brothers activities! As a mom of four (ages 11, 9, 5, and 7 months), I’ve had lots of mom moments. However, one that sticks in my mind was with my second son….he had a diaper leak while at a restaurant. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an extra outfit for him (oops!). Luckily, I had a shirt on underneath my fleece and wrapped him in that?. It worked perfectly for the ride home and no one knew!
One of our neighbor kids came to the door to ask if my 2.5 year old son could play. I was so happy for him and so emotional over it. Haha that was a major “I’m a mom moment.”
I think my most recent was the sort of out of body experience looking around at all the other moms at the pool and realizing: omg I’m just like them now. Sunscreen applying, snack toting, diaper changing, toddler wrangling and pregnant. Yup. Guess I’m in the club.
I have been a mom for 34 years now. But now I am about to become a Grandmother, my first is due next month little Westin is due on 21 Sep. I am so excited. I would love to gift her parents this beautiful diaper bag.
I’m 6 weeks in as a mom and my first “oh shit I’m a mom” moment came during our first huge diaper blowout last week… which I was totally unprepared for!
I have three babies now. All little girls. One is 6. One is 5 and one is about to be two months. I work part time at a hotel. Just serving breakfast to the wonderful guests. And my mom moment is when i see little kids and i have to ask there age, epically when they look close to one of my own and then we will converse a little and discuss things like their favorite cartoons or toys and such. I love talking to the guests and of course when you can talk about your own babies you just get that warm fuzzing satisfying feeling of yup I’m a mom. Its the best
You know those moments when you think you packed everything for your kids (furry or people version), and you get to your destination only to realize you forgot the most important things? Treats and water were left on the kitchen counter. I felt horrible leaving for a 3 hour drive to see family without them. Poor pups ☹️
Oh my gosh… I am a new mom of twins. Last week I brought them to the pediatrician while wearing my milk stained ugg slippers (it was 95 degrees that day). Both the doctor and nurse noticed. The funny thing is that I wasn’t the least bit embarrassed ?
Hi – I am expecting twins this winter. My mom moment is when I randomly start talking to my belly asking them how they are doing.
I keep diapers and wipes in both of our cars. Usually cheerios too!
The first time I took my little guy to the doctors (1 week appointment), I had NO extra clothes in my diaper bag. Of course, he peed all over his outfit, so off we went…naked to Home!! I now ALWAYS have extra clothes!
My wow I’m a mom moment happened when I was waiting for his pediatric eye doctor appointment realizing I’m not here for me… I’m the mom waiting for his appointment.
9 days postpartum here! I am currently not letting anyone else change my little one’s diaper because his umbilical cord looks like it will fall off at any second and I can’t stop crying every time I see it. It’s the last physical representation of me carrying him for 9 months! Hi hormones! We went to our first doc appt last week and I shoved two diapers and a pack of wipes in my purse on the way out the door. Haven’t quite mastered the diaper bag yet but maybe this will help!
I have a 19-month-old boy and another boy due in December. I had a definite mom moment just yesterday when my toddler pooped in the bath! Definitely made me feel like a mom ?
8 month pregnant and a 8 year old daughter… had to answer questions about how will I get the baby out… had to sayc”the body will be ready and it will come out of private parts”….
I am pregnant with our first, but I paid a bill late for the first time in my life. Mom brain starts early!
Im a mom of 4 grownchildren but i have 3 grandaughters my youngest grandaughter being 12 days old…so my daughter breast feeds..and while she was pumping and me feeding a breastmilk bottle she was drinking..i pulled bottle away to burb her.and i cont.to feed her she missed the bottle and started to tryand latch on me i had a low cut tank top on..i didbt even realize til i felt her head go back and forthon my chest area…yeh funny.but omg..grandma moment.& Mommy moment.
I have a three week old and our daughter turned two on August 4th. One of my favorite or funniest mom moments was on our daughters birthday. She insisted on wearing her bikini without a diaper, and she is not potty trained yet, after playing in the pool we sat down to eat chocolate cupcakes. A few moments later she was running around and someone commented on how she got cupcake all over herself. I without hesitation glance over, “nope that’s poop” double take “oh no, that’s poop!!!” ?. I think our mom brains work so well that sometimes we forget they are.
Both with how my house has totally filled up with baby things and with how my stomach has totally filled up with baby and expanded has made me realize that baby is definitely coming soon . . . would love to have a diaper bag from Product of the North . . . seems like such a neat company.
Mom to be with our first little guy on his way! Looks look incredible and so functional and realistic for us and our active lifestyle. Thanks so much for sharing these bags and all the goods inside!
I have a 3 year old and a 15 week old. Saturday felt like a total mom moment – I was changing a blow out on a picnic table and praying I had stuffed the everything that we needed in my bag. Ha. It’s an adventure!
The other day I nursed my 7 month old while getting a “pedicure” from my 4 year old. Nail polish. Everywhere.
Cute diaper bags! My little is 9 weeks (already! Don’t they grow so fast?!)
My most recent mom moment was when I showed up to the beach with a stroller, car seat, and all the gear, and my whole family tried to set up a pop up tent/umbrella for ?? for 30 min while everyone on the beach laughed at us. ??♀️ It was windy, so we had to use the stroller and car seat to hold the tent in place.
I’m a first time mom-to-be due in November. I have been looking for a neutral-gender diaper bag for a while because my husband thinks he will be the one carries the bag when we go out and this bag is perfect!
My mom moment is when I first felt the baby kick in my tummy, it finally felt so real that there really is something precious inside me. I was never sure if even wanted a kid, but that very moment my natural mother instincts just kicked in and I just had a strong urge that I need to have a 2nd baby to keep this little one a company. It’s so miraculous!
Total mom moment for me was buying a minivan!
When the pacifier falls on the ground at the store: I pick it up, put it in my mouth, then back in baby’s mouth. #totalmommoment
Total mom moment was eating a squeeze yogurt for breakfast :/
Would love this bag for my second baby, due this winter! They are so nice!
My mom moment was when I realized that I’d rather be home with my little bubba than out and about.
I was winding down my last couple weeks on maternity leave and was feeling super heavy about it. So, I decided to treat my little sweet to some new clothes from Carters since I had never been there. We’re shopping away when all of a sudden I feel the earth move in my baby sling… We were at DefCon 5 for poopsplosion and I made a beeline for the bathroom… I got her out of the mess so fast both our heads spun, only to find that I had forgotten her change of clothes at home. I practically used a whole pack of wipes to get her cleaned up. Then, all smiles, we had to shop, wrapped in my nursing cover, because.. no blanket… Needless to say she got new outfits for going home too… Mom walk of shame… Lol. (haven’t been back since, wow-zers)
My mom moment was the first time I sprayed milk in my little ones face, but didn’t realize it was milk! I thought it was spit and kept trying to grab it with my fingers before I finally realized it was from me! Poor girl had milk all over her face!
My total Mom moment was probably this summer when I realized how little I cared whether I looked “good” anymore. I have a newly four year old and a one week old, so surviving this hot summer as a pregnant lady chasing after an energetic kid took all my energy. I wore the same two maternity tanks and two pairs of shorts for a month because they were the only clothes that fit and I sure as heck wasn’t going to spend money on more! I never did my hair or makeup and truly, 100% did not care what people thought of my appearance. Realizing this made me feel like I entered a new phase of life: the Mom phase. It feels oddly nice to be free of the burden of outer expectations, and I like that my priorities are on being a good mom and not on looking a certain way.
My total “mom” moment came when I got a “mom” haircut. I cut my long hair into a short bob! I remember explaining it to someone and saying “yeah, I totally look like a mom now! (Moms can have whatever hairstyle, but for some reason I just FELT more like a mom) It was my favorite hairstyle I’ve ever had on me, but the ironic thing is that it was the most maintenance so it didn’t last long! (My hair is very thick so it took forever to blow it out every day, not practical as a mom of littles!) PS. Those diaper bags are GORGEOUS!!
Well, today I walked into a meeting with my shirt buttoned incorrectly. Being a pumping mom isn’t easy! ??♀️
I have a 10 month old son who keeps me busy… and mom brain is real!
With 2 little boys (3 and 6 months) I’m always lugging around a backpack filled with diapers, snacks and changes of clothes. I’d love to have a stylish one like that! One of my biggest “mom” moment was the first time both boys napped at the same time. I literally jumped for joy and posted it on Facebook…
I work with fertility holistically (helping couples get pregnant without drugs and injections) so I pretty much had that and the pregnancy part down. But… Mommy-hood is a totally different ball game! My mom moment keeps repeating … It’s when I think to myself oh, I’m just going to run to the store/ post office/ hang out with a friend and I make plans, get ready to leave only to realize I didn’t account for taking care of the little one! And I say, oh shoot, I am a mom now!!! It’s such a change to my get up and go lifestyle, it still catchs me off guard that I have a 2.5 mo old!!
Proud mama of two active boys, a 2 year old and a 7 month old. Total mom moment? When your purse doubles as a second/emergency diaper bag. I’ve had numerous occasions where I leave the diaper bag in the car and go shopping because I think, “it’ll be a fast trip”. Well, it’s almost never a fast trip and that’s when my 2 year old decides to have an accident or my 7 month old has a blowout. Lol. Then there’s also the times when I go checkout and as I pull out my wallet, diapers, wipes, teething toys or snacks fall out of my purse. Oh the joys of motherhood! Wouldn’t trade it for the world!
My little is almost 5 weeks and my first real “mom” moment came when I was watching my husband bathe her and looked down to see major breast milk leakage. Our bodies are crazy cool!
I pumped about 10 minutes (had to leave for work early), before I realized I hadn’t put the bottle on one of the sides, resulting in a huge breastmilk stain on our living room chair. 10 minutes!
I am pregnant with my first child ( we’re having a girl) and I never really knew what “mommy brain” was before but I have sure had it since being pregnant. The time I really realized it was real was when my husband asked me to stop at the grocery store to pick up 2 items. I walked in the house with one and when he asked about the other I lost it. I had completely forgotten and before I was preggo I had the best memory.
So many moments! But the one that sticks out as the first time I felt that I really leveled up and earned that mom badge was when my now toddler got her first real illness around 4 months. She barfed and I actually caught it midair in my bare hand, without a single hesitation.
I have 2 year old twin boys. I would love one of these bags!
First time mom-to-be due in October! So a diaper bag giveaway has me like !!!!!!!!!!! haha 🙂
6 months pregnant…so no major mom moments yet! I just know they’re coming though
Another mom referred to me as Ahava’s mama. That was the time that the realization that that would be my designation rocked me a bit.
Not a mom yet (but due in 7 weeks– how did this happen?!) so I’ll do a crazy pregnant lady moment. ! My husband had to go out of town for one night (gone less than 24 hours!) and I had a complete meltdown- I was completely (irrationally) convinced something was going to happen to him. Poor guy felt so bad! I can definitely say that pregnancy hormones are real.
Mr. Mack sure does need that bag.
Hi! So i have a baby girl who just turned 1, about a week ago for a couple days she wasnt really pooping. Husband had changed her and i asked what it looked like and he describes it as looking like throw up. I had never been so happy that she had pooped like that ever haha! Who knew id be so happy she pooped all over!
One definite mom moment for me was when I licked my finger to rub dirt off my daughters face when we didn’t have a wipe with us—all without thinking about it! Never thought I’d be doing that before I became a mom!
The first time mom moment was when my baby girl is 6 days old and my husband went out to grab diapers as she came permmie size and would not fit in new born diapers we got. For one week we had enough from hospital. Then when she used her last one. I use NB size on her and husband went to grab premmie size. She decided to poop since the one she was wearing bigger and the way I was holding her made it worst so it leaked all over me and her. While changing and cleaning everything I had to leave her in crib few times and she cried so hard eberytime I put her down. Maybe she felt abandoned. MOM GUILT all over me. Since of my stitches I wasn’t that usual fast myself and I felt helpless and cried with her.. it was very emotional moment and I felt like I am a mom for life.. and that emotion of worry will never go away.
I hardly enter giveaways but could definitely use this. #Mom
I am pregnant with my first baby (a girl!) due mid December. I would love to win this bag! I like that it is more neutral and not so feminine, so my husband can carry some stuff, too! ?
My “mom” moment has probably been constantly worrying about my baby! ? The worry starts early, I guess!
Thanks, for offering a giveaway! Keeping my fingers crossed!
❤️Kimberly
I have an 18 month old and another on the way. Best moment when I was traveling for work, while pumping, and had no where to pump but in a computer server room. Sitting half naked in my suit pants and pumping bra, walks the most senior executive in the office, to do a routine “security” check. Fortunately motherhood removes all modesty, but he hasn’t looked me in the eyes since!
I have so many mom moments, but one that stands out is when I was out front playing with my kids and a couple of 7-8yr old boys rode by on their bikes and I overheard them saying something about asking “that mom over there” a question. I almost looked around for the other mom- but they meant me! I realized i am seen as a “mom” now to all kids, not just my own.
I am a mom of 3 girls, 4th baby (gender yet to be revealed) due in January. I think a big “mom moment” for me was the first time I used my own shirt to wipe one of my kids’ noses hahaha things like that, or like having to call a plumber to unclog my toilet after my oldest put almost an entire roll of toilet paper in there. Those are the first two that come to mind anyway lol
I LOVE our backpack diaper bag but after 18 months of heavy use (including packing it super full for travel) I need a new one!
Speaking of Travel, when we went to Ireland in June, we boarded the plane but had like 2 dozen planes in front of us for take off so we were taxiing forever. Just before we moved up to take off, my son had the biggest blowout ever in his adorable plane outfit. But we couldn’t change him until after we were in the air and the seatbelt sign was off. Such a fun 20 minutes for the folks around us ?
My most recent mom moment was when we went on vacation and my girls had numerous matching outfits complete with matching bows and I was so tired of packing I just took a couple pairs of shorts and some tanks tops for me.
I am kind of a germophobe and I think my biggest “mom moments” are definitely when something gross happens (lots of drool, poop falling out of diapers onto the floor, etc) and not really caring or blinking an eye. People always told me I would not think my own kid was gross, but I kind of didn’t believe it until it happened!
I took my oldest to his first dentist appointment one morning before daycare. On weekdays, I’m so in the habit of just dropping him at daycare that I forgot to bring a diaper bag. Well, of course he pooped and I had no diaper or wipes. I spotted another mom with a toddler, and asked her for help. She was so sweet to give me a diaper and wipes. Unfortunately, the diaper was really small for my big boy, but I squeezed him in it and made it work! Gotta love Mom’s supporting Mom’s 🙂
I’m a mom to almost 2 year old twins, and backpack diaper bags are the way to go! The moment I realized I was a mom and life would never be the same was when I was making sure a baby doll was tucked in for night time as well as my daughter :).
My daughter is 9 months old- it just keeps getting better and better! Here’s my total mom moment- we were all at a wedding this weekend, and while waiting for the ceremony to start I noticed a parked stroller that is the umbrella stroller I am considering purchasing. I kept waiting for the owner to come back so that I could ask them all about it, and ask whether they liked it. Normally at a wedding I am drinking and dancing, and instead I was looking for someone to discuss strollers with! (I also spent half of the wedding with baby food on my butt… so, yeah…)
We traded in our small car for a minivan. I was driving down the road in said minivan, wearing my hair in a mom bun (hello, hadn’t showered for a hot minute), wearing black leggings (my post partum tummy wore nothing but) and drinking Starbucks (umm…sleep? Hahahaha). I realized I was the stereotypical mom to a T – BUT ya know what? Each of those stereotypes is there for a very good reason and I’m not ashamed.
I will be a first time mom in November. I can’t wait for all of the “mom moments!”
Well, I am currently pregnant with my first, so it sure feels very new to me to be commenting to win a diaper bag. I have officially entered the stage of life where a diaper bag giveaway is exciting, lol!
I’m the Father it’s my first child due August 16 2018 it my wife fourth child I don’t have no mom moments yet I will it my first child she having a baby girl we naming her Isabella Grace Simons we don’t have a diaper bag yet I would love to get this diaper bag to use for are baby girl
Thinking I’d wear makeup at the hospital ????? such a cute bag!
I finally cut my son’s nails with a nail clipper [he is 3months old] – totally feeling like a mum! Gotta celebrate the little things ??
I’m 31 weeks pregnant with my first. Due Oct 19, 2018. I cannot wait for all the “mom moments” in the upcoming future. I can attest to “pregnancy brain;” the dry cleaners asked for my address and I completely drew a blank! haha
When I made a dinner reservation for our anniversary at 5 PM so I knew I could be home in bed by 8 PM ….(nursing a newborn problems lol)
I have a just turned 2 year old and a 5 month old, and there are just sooo many mom moments, I like to say my signature sent is spoiled milk?. A couple of weeks ago we went to an outdoor festival and when we got to the gate for bag check the security guard took one look at me pushing a stroller with baby in front carrier trying to open my bags with one hand, and just shook his head and said “nah your good”. Apparently I’m officially a mom and have become a non security threat lol
Forgetting to refill the diaper bag with DIAPERS!!
I’m 25 weeks pregnant with my first. The other night I had a little stain on my bra, and upon inspecting my boob I realized I had leaked some colostrum ? my husband and I then basked in the reality of my new super nipples! ?
Definitely had a mom moment when I found toddler food all over my shirt while checking out in the grocery store.
Looks like an awesome diaper bad! I have a 3.5 year old and 8 month old so a good diaper bag is a must! I have so many mom moments. But most recently it was when I found myself talking to another mom about pumping and how excited we get when we pump a lot ??
Mom of two boys and while I have had some major mom moments my biggest revelation was when the idea of a new vacuum would be the best thing ever. Seriously ours broke and I was like thank goodness my toddler has a working one!
I have so many with a 1.5 and 3.5 year old! But the most recent one that comes to mind is when I told my youngest not to lick the mirror at target. Things you never thought you’d say…!
getting away on vacay with the hubby, BUT bringing my pump with me and still having to keep an eye on the clock all day. always a mom!
I’m a mom of 4 and have been a SAHM for 22 years… pretty much everything I do is a “I’m such a mom” moment!!
Just last week my 12 week old girl was sitting in my lap and I had my hand under her booty supporting her. I felt a fart/poop on my hand and than began to feel something warm dripping between my legs! Her poop leaked out and down my shorts onto the couch ?lol…I went to change her diaper (she was in a white onesie) and she didn’t get it anywhere on her clothes! Lol, she’s talented like that! Any of the spit up, poopy, messy things are a constant reminder lol!!
Love the backpack style!
Every. Moment. Of. My. Life. lately ? I have a 4 year old and an 8 month old. My little one has been sick and I had to bring him to my office to get some work done and he wailed while I was talking to my coworker on the phone ?
We struggled with infertility for 5 years, and finally we got our miracle baby! One moment that hit me wow, I’m a mom, was when the NICU nurse called our room and asked for J’s mom, and I said “I’m his mom”. Then promptly started crying, I couldn’t believe I was finally someone’s mom!
My oldest will be 7 in a few days and my youngest is just over 2. Last night I had to tell my son “No, you are not going to weigh you weiner” and I had to laugh because that is not something I ever thought I’d have to say!
Super mom moment: when it becomes completely normal to speak about poop consistency’s of your infant at they dinner table.
I’m a mom-to-be (due in Jan!) I just got a new family-friendly car this weekend and when I found myself telling my husband that I wanted a car I couldn’t drive fast – I knew I was a mom!
Love the bag, my husband would love that it is more unisex than the current one we have ?
Our little one is due the end of September, so my “mom moments” are still “pregnancy moments”. My most ridiculous one was one morning already late for work, I tore everything apart trying to find my car keys. I remembered I had gotten something out of the trunk when I had gotten home the night before, so I grabbed the “extra” set on the key rack, to go open the truck. No keys in there. Tear more things apart. I look back at the key rack and realize the ones I had used to open the trunk had been mine, so they were literally in my hand, and I couldn’t find them.
I’m only a dog mom at the moment, but licking my finger and wiping eye boogers…off my pup!
I am not a mom, but would love to and hope to be one SOON! ?
Hi Jen! First, I’m 9 weeks into this whole new Mom thing so I absolutely love, love reading your posts and seeing your sweet stories about Finn each and every day. As for Mom moments…well, I’m already thinking of the future for this little girl and secretly hoping that Finn will ask my little baby girl Pippa to prom one day! ?…as for one of my most unforgettable new mom moments, that happened when my husband, baby and I went to the mall a week after she was born to buy some outfits for family photos happening that week. I was new at the breastfeeding thing and all that comes with so I had forgotten to wear the breast pads that day. As I was in Anthropologie trying on tops for our photo shoot, all the sudden my breasts went wild and started shooting out milk. I had it all over my feet and needless to say I left without trying any tops on and super sticky feet! Lesson learned…don’t forget to always wear your breast pads and if you forget when your baby might be hungry next, just ask your boobs…they have all the right answers. ???
I feel like ‘I am such a mom’ when people asking how it is to be a mom. I am the classic mom when I say I love him more then words can say. It is amazing!
Due with my first in March, so no “mom” moments yet. I will say pregnancy brain is real! Yikes! There’s been a few times mid sentence that I stop because I literally don’t remember what I am saying ?
There are so many Mom moments I can’t even think of a good one! I’d say the fact that I can’t leave the House without a million bags, snacks, milk and now I provide it for all the adults too!
Classic New Mum Error – my first baby’s appointment at the pediatrician at a week old I roll in with my purse which contains my wallet, make up bag, sunglasses, tissues, toothpicks, Advil. Baby does a poo in the waiting room and I’m thinking I should have packed a spare diaper, but I really didn’t expect to be out very long. Of course it was an explosion that required a new outfit but didn’t have one of those on me either. He went home in a diaper provided by the office and the all-in-one cosy zip up fleece he was wearing that had survived the blow out. I was so embarrassed! Ever since then, my diaper bag’s contents looked more like yours above 🙂
my mom moments are revolving so much around my sons schedule. i am just learning how to be more flexible!
also… hiding the cookies for me!
Well, today i realized my baby’s had had a blow out only after i touched the shirt i was wearing and realized it was wet with a huge poop spot. I hope this is only something that moms (& dad’s) have to experience ??♀️
My Mom moment came when I mentioned to my young co-worker that my son has a blow out… She was quite confused and said she only heard that term in regards to getting your hair done; I then went on to explain a poopsplsion lol
Fun giveaway! I always feel like a mom nowadays because when I stand, I sway back and forth without realizing it – even when not holding my baby! ?
I am pregnant w our third and everything that happens is a total mom moment. The biggest one now is that I am 37.5 weeks and we are no where close to having a name or my hospital bag packed. Maybe it’s just bc it feels kind of old hat, but I have really had to buckle down and work on some things as I know this baby could come at any time! And- I totally need a new diaper bag for this one, it’s been years since I used mine and have no clue where it is!
I was potty training my 2 year old, and decided he was ready to go out in public. We were grocery shopping and the checkout line was horribly long. We are in line and he screams ” mom I have to pee”. I had to put a diaper on him in the middle of the checkout line, so I wouldn’t lose my spot! I never thought I would do that as a mom.
I answered my door with the flap to my nursing tank hanging open! I still cringe thinking about it…I have no idea if I flashed my neighbor or not.
One time I arrived to the store and put my son in the ring sling to carry him. As soon as I put him in I found out he had a bad dirty diaper blow out that leaked out and I used my phone camera to see that it leaked onto the sling, too. But…I only needed a few things so I just carried him like that and got my groceries before changing him! Definitely a mom moment!
I am a mom of four with one more on the way. Right now my “pregnant” mom moments consist of me carrying the mouthwash downstairs and almost out the door this morning thinking it was my coffee mug. But my ultimate mom moments are me telling my kids to stop acting like dinosaurs and to take their underwear out of their pants before they throw it in the dirty laundry!
We left for a 9 hour car trip back home to see family. 10 minutes into the ride, my one year old has a major blow out! We decide to stop and change the diaper/clothes, but I don’t see the diaper bag. I asked my husband if he grabbed it and he responded saying he thought I grabbed it! We don’t have a single diaper or wipe in the car, it was too late to turn around and the closest place to buy diapers is 30 minutes away. Oh the smell!!!!! Let’s just say, you make, “Doo” with all the, “crap” Parenthood thows at you. Literally 🙂
My little one is 11 weeks and I still can’t believe I’m a Mom to this beautiful baby girl.
Those bags look AMAZING! I currently have a non-back pack style and it is not cutting it! My most recent mom-moment: I drove several extra slow laps around a round-a-bout so that my 20 month old little boy could get extra glimpses of all the “diggers” at a construction site. It was only in hindsight that I realized that the workers staring at me probably thought I was totally creeping on them??♀️! Oh well, anything for my baby ??!
I have a 9 year old and just had my 2nd child. Im at blank right now starting all over. My mom moment is i pack a full bag just to go to the convenient store, hey i said im starting over just never know.
I am a mom of a 14 month old boy and expecting a baby girl on the way. Its scary to think about having 2 under 2. I can remember taking a trip to the mall and wearing black pants and baby boy wiped his face on my leg and left a streak of boogies. I thought this mom life.
Embarrassed to say I catch myself telling people “I need to go POTTY” all the time ?
After he peed on me twice, pooped on me once and spit up on me three times in one morning, I still spent time watching my 2 month old baby sleep because even then, just his mere existence makes me smile. If I can smile after all of that, it could only be motherly love.
My mom moment is when someone asks for something and I can find it in my bag because I carry so much noaways.
My first baby girl is 10 weeks old, and I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the title of Mom! The first time I left the house with spit up on my clothes (it’ll dry soon and no one will ever know, ha!) was a good “now I’m a mom” moment 🙂
Hi! I’m a mom of two toddlers and have been on the hunt for a bag that doubles as a work bag and diaper bag. I LOVE that these have laptop compartments! My “wow I’m so a mom” moment is how I now prefer driving our minivan over a car. Who am I?!?
Starting a private Instagram account for the baby to share our adventures with close friends and family ?
Growing up, my mom always messed up people’s names. Mispronounced last names and the like. It was such a mom thing (like not quite cool). Well, after a Walmart trip to find some new jammies for my daughter, all I could find were these ugly pjs with a teeny-bopper band. I came home and told my husband that I didn’t find any jammies that I liked, only ones with ‘New Dimesion.’ He said to me , “do you mean One Direction?” Lightbulb mom moment.
Realizing that not all restaurants have changing tables in their bathrooms! Things you notice when you have a baby.
Thanks!
There are so many times that “wow, I’m totally a Mom” crosses my mind, that I can’t even keep count! One of the earliest ones that I can remember is being legitimately upset when I realized that not only do not all restrooms have baby changing stations but that virtually no men’s restrooms do. Thankfully many establishments have family restrooms but for those that don’t, they’re not enabling Dad’s to have some infant time! Aka..give Mom a break 😉
Love the bag! I’m ready to switch to a backpack diaper bag rather than a regular… they just look so much easier.
My mom moment was when I found myself telling my 11 month old daughter that “we pet the puppies with our hands… not our mouth”. Haha!
Love the bag! I’m about ready to make the switch from a regular diaper bag to a backpack diaper bag.
My mom moment was when I found myself telling my 11 month old that we “pet the puppy with our hands, not our mouth” as she tried to lick the dog! Lol
I am a mom of two boys (22 month old and 5 week old) and in need of a diaper bag. My mom moment is always having extras of everything everywhere for the kids. I have diapers, wipes, and extra clothes in my bag, car, and in the stroller carrier at all times. My boys seems to always get messy, whether it’s a poop explosion or playing with mud.
I go to bed at 8:30pm! Even on the weekends…
I have a 4 month old. When she was about a month my mom had come to vist. We went to pick her up from airport. We live on a army base. So my husband and mom went to get her visitors pass. I’m in car with my daughter. I hear her poop. It comes out the side of the diaper all over carseat. I take her in to change her in bathroom. But they didnt have a changing station in the bathroom. It went up her back and everything. So my mom puts down the changing mat on the chair. So we change her in front of everyone. We had to clean the carseat with wipes till we got home. We cleaned her up and took her clothes off her.
My son is only 19days old and it’s been a rough ride so far. I’m back in the hospital so my husband had his first night alone with him before I did and I don’t even feel bad because I’m about to move with the baby 2 weeks before mY husband and then have him solely during the week while my husband is in a hotel at a school for his next job. I figured I deserved the extra long sleep especially since Im back in the hospital with c section complications.
I just gave birth to a preemie baby. I decided on a backpack diaper bag because my husband wanted something he could carry too. I probably carry more than I should but want to prepare for everything.
Mom moment has to always be says ” what are you eating? where did you get that?”
As a mom to 5 wild but beautiful girls, I find myself being a hypocrite. When my first daughter was small, I used to really explain myself to her and make every moment a “teachable moment”. Now my “Mom Moments” are:
Me: Share with your sister or you can’t have it either
Daughter: But it’s special, I got it for my birthday/Christmas/graduation
Me: It makes it even more special when you share it with your sister
5 mins later
Me: Hey that’s mine! Give it to mommy!
Daughter: But I want to share your makeup and look pretty too
Me: But that’s only for mommy, it’s expensive, give it to mommy or go on time out
THEN I REALIZE I DON’T KNOW HOW TO SHARE LOL
Or when you finally get a moment in the bathroom and an angel face toddler tries to violently wipe your butt with a wipe. It makes sense, you wipe them why can’t they wipe you. Especially compounded by the fact that you won’t even let them aggressively scrub themselves on messy diaper change. Hypocrite Mom!
Just had my 3rd child and I can say that thing that makes me feel most like a mom (other then labor!) Is the night feedings and baby sleeping on my chest! ?
I am a mom of three and although I have probably had more than I can count “mom moments”, the most recent one was thinking how AH-MAZING our rental minivan was on our recent trip to Michigan. I think I want one which is slightly funny and disturbing b/c I was NEVER going to be that minivan mama. I am now willing to forgo all coolness for functionality and ease when it comes to getting three kids in a carseat and two booster seats!
I’m due to give birth to my first baby in March 2019! This diaper bag looks amazing, and thank you for giving us new moms the scoop regarding diaper bag essentials! I’ve definitely been more emotional since I got pregnant. My husband and I went to see “The Incredibles 2” in the theater and before the movie they showed Pixar’s short film “Bao”. It’s about a mother’s transition to being an empty nester and it’s super cute and poignant. Well, I was sobbing into my mocktail the entire time. I was 5 weeks gestation at that point but just kept thinking, ‘that’s going to be OUR baby soon, all grown up and moving on’! HA. Oh hormones.
First of all – you are doing freaking fantastic! And my diaper bag contents are very similar (down to the snacks for mom!!). I think the whole “Holy crap, I am a mom” hit me this past weekend when we went to our friend’s birthday party and I am rocking the stroller with my phone blasting white noise to get my Finn to go to sleep so I could chat and visit. Just knowing how unselfish I had to be now and how different everything was yet still the same. Or living my life in two hour increments at a time in between feedings. Time makes no sense now!!!!! Luckily, he is so good that I can take him anywhere!!!!
I’m not a mom (yet), but I am an auntie to 3 wonderful little girls. Whenever I have them I can just picture myself as a mother, especially when I am saying things I never expected to have to say, like “Barbie cannot swim in the toilet” or “trust me, your bread will not taste good if you dip it in your juice.” Seriously, so many days I wonder were they get these ideas! I’m hoping to win the bag for a friend who is expecting her first!
As a new Mom I am constantly going through a mental checklist as I prepare to leave the house each day. Wallet, cellphone, keys, water bottle, ect. I find while the two of us are out and about I am always checking the location of my breast pads and alignment of my top. I definitely have a fear of being out in public and covered in breast milk! (I keep an extra top in my glove compartment?)
We have been able to cloth diaper, thanks to Ivy’s Diaper Service sales and handme downs. Long story short I was out with my son and realized I no longer had any diapers available. I wrapped him in an extra T-shirt of mine as it’s been so hot in Charlotte I didn’t even have a Muslim blanket to substitute! A Mom moment forgetting to check the bag for diapers.
Mom moments/thoughts: thinking and saying multiple times a day, how nice it would be to go pee without my two year old son and my dog staring at me, waiting for something from me.
I’m pregnant for the first time!!!! I’m 24 weeks, and going strong!! It hit me a week ago when my belly started hopping and moving. I didn’t think you could see your baby move til end of third trimester. Definitely a delightful surprise and now I go to bed and wake up watching and waiting for my belly to move when he kicks!
That bag looks awesome!
My mom moments are often. I swore I’d never sound like my mom and now it’s constantly, “turn off the lights.” “If you don’t stop I’m turning this car around.”
One major Mom moment… when we bought our minivan! And I’m never going back! ?
My mom moments always hit when I’m around my friends that don’t have children and having fruit snacks, goldfish, toys in my purse and car are just not second nature to them!
The constant nagging of sunscreen applications… haha as a Mom I totally get why my mom was all over me about it now!!!!
I love your consistent honesty. Thanks, Jen! I’m 30 weeks pregnant and feeling baby move is just crazy to me.
My mom moment is every time my own mom ‘spills’ out of my mouth….the last one being “because I said so” ?♀️
Well I am 17 weeks pregnant so I still have a ways to go to be a momma with a baby in the world. However I allowed myself to buy a couple of goodwill baby items, I can home washed them and when I was folding the baby clothes I thought wow my life is soon going to be full of folding little people clothing which is so exciting! Can’t wait to be a momma!
My totally “Mom moment” of realzing I am so a mom would be while at Disneyland. I frequent the parks with my daughter who is almost 3, and am also 39 weeks pregnant literally just waiting to go into labor. Myself and a few other Mama friends decided to do a solo moms day out at the parks. I found myself even without my daughter wondering which kiddy rides to go on and discovered throughout the day I had packed my bag for the day as If I had my daughter. Snacks galore, a diaper, wipes, and a change of clothes. ? I will say the wipes came in handy a few times, and the snacks were a nice bonus being pregnant!
we’re 8 days into parenthood so haven’t done many excursions … our biggest thing is changing her and having her pee right into the new diaper … or all over the changing table. it’s a learning curve!
Mom moment: Everytime I am driving in my car, I feel the need to comment on every bus, truck, or motorcycle I see…even when my two year old isn’t with me ?
I forgot wipes on a long road trip!
Just last week I found out I’m pregnant with my second! I hit the reset button big time because my son is 10 years old. Now I’m having to repurchase from the ground up. I’m loving the experience of the second pregnancy as I’m remembering some of the body changes and some of the new to me with this pregnancy symptoms. Maybe because I am 10 years older this pregnancy some of the symptoms are more noticeable or worse. The joint pain from my hips to my feet is unbearable most days and I’m having food aversions to everything at the moment. I’m such a foodie so this is a tough one for me. One of the funniest moments of me being a new mom with a newborn was when sleep deprivation was at it’s highest and I brushed my teeth with diaper rash cream by mistake. Haha!!
Love your blog! I’m a mama of two and due with #3 in October, hurray! My mom moment is looking forward to my kids finishing their meals so I can eat their leftovers. I once thought that was disgusting, I now embrace it.
