…it pours.
It’s been one of those days.
It started out good enough – I subbed the 6:30 a.m. Friday hot vinyasa class at Y2 (which I always take) because my teacher was out of town. And although I honestly missed practicing, I loved teaching the yogis that I usually practice beside.
I had a client meeting this morning and arrived at work around 10:30. And then things went downhill. It started to pour down rain and storm. Which usually wouldn’t be a big deal but I had plans to meet a friend downtown for lunch to talk about yoga teacher training.

Noon rolled around and the rain hadn’t let up so I grabbed an umbrella and headed out. The series of events that followed are pretty much laughable now.
I parked in a deck downtown and thought I could make it to the restaurant without going outside (through inside building tunnels). Well, I didn’t park in the right place and ended up having to walk two blocks and never finding the restaurant. I.was.drenched. Torrential rain. I walked back to my car and proceeded to have a knock down, drag out fight with the deck attendant. I didn’t have any cash and their credit card machines weren’t working. All you need to know is that the end result was me getting out for free. ๐
I drove off in search of the restaurant, rain pouring down, and proceeded to get rear ended. Yep. I can’t make these things up. I called Brandon in a panic and he came to meet me (he works really close by). Luckily, there wasn’t much damage to either of our cars so we cancelled the 911 call.

I mean, seriously. Look at this rain we got! It was only three hours of really intense rain but it caused crazy flooding. I went home to change after the lunch fiasco (needless to say I never made it to the restaurant and felt so bad about standing my friend up :() and our power was out.
I stopped at Berrybrook Farm on my way back to the office and picked up some lentil vegetable soup and a kombucha. The rainy, gross day had me craving a warm, comforting lunch.
I’m home now and truly feeling the TGIF vibe. Honestly, I have to just laugh at the day that I had at this point. I’m lucky that no one (and no car) was hurt in the accident. Brandon and I are off to dinner and a movie and I’m looking forward to an extra sweaty and extra hard yoga class tomorrow morning. It’s going to be a fun weekend!
What do you guys have planned for the weekend?
You poor thing, I am sure your friend understood, you can’t make this stuff up!
Oh no! What a day! If I were in your shoes I’d be diving heartless into a bowl of ice cream right about now. I hope your weekend is much kinder to you ๐
Way to have a positive attitude! Also looking forward to a good sweaty class in the morning!
Holy crap that is what I call a day. Glad everything worked out OK though!
Wow! What a day!!! I hope you have a fun date night with your hubby and a better day tomorrow ๐
Oh my goodness; you honestly have my kind of luck…. Glad it’s Friday for you! The Husband and I are alone in the house this weekend without the teenagers! ๐
oooh, it truly was one of those days! thankfully it was also friday ๐
hope sat and sun are much, much better!
Oh no :[ I hate to hear that your day was so bad. It’s just the worst when things go downhill so quickly. I hope your weekend is awesome though and I’m glad no one was hurt in the wreck and that your car is okay!
Oh what a miserable day! I’m glad that you were able to laugh about it though. And I’m glad that your car is OK! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your Friday night. ๐
My weekend is all working. This month will be busy since I have two vacations planned this fall!
The crux of your writing whilst sounding reasonable in the beginning, did not settle perfectly with me after some time. Somewhere within the paragraphs you managed to make me a believer but only for a while. I however have a problem with your jumps in logic and you might do nicely to fill in all those gaps. If you actually can accomplish that, I could definitely be fascinated.
