Happy Friday!
I want to start this post out by with a big Veteran’s Day shout out to everyone who has served in the Armed Forces. THANK YOU for your sacrifice and service. My mom worked for the VA for many, many years in various capacities surrounding mental health and I am grateful that it taught me from a young age that supporting our armed services isn’t just about while they’re in active duty but a lifelong need.
We’ll get off the baby train for today’s post and I’ll share a few Friday faves. (Well, maybe a couple have to do with pregnancy!)
UNDER ARMOUR SHOES
Under Armour provided all the gear that we needed for our #FirstsNeverStop experience last week. I received three pairs of shoes throughout the course of the trip and I LOVE them all. Under Armour has really stepped up their shoe game over the last few years and their shoes are not only stylish but comfortable and functional.
From left to right…
- Street Precision Low Lux – this is a lifestyle shoe that’s just meant for wearing around for your day-to-day activities. I’ve received so many compliments on these shoes! They come in three colors – gray, green and blue.
- Thredborne Push – this is a training shoe that is designed for general gym workouts like taking group exercise classes, lifting, HIIT, etc.
- Charged Bandit 3 – this is a running shoe that kind of “does it all.” It’s lightweight but offers cushioning and support. It comes in a variety of colors but I love the combo that I got! Bonus…these shoes are currently on sale for $20 off and come in at just $79.99!
I’ll have a full recap of my time with Under Armour and Samsung on my blog next week.
TANNER COMING HOME WITH THIS…
Tanner came home for lunch on Thursday after I showed him a picture of the epic grilled cheese that I made the day before. (Details on Instagram.) I told him I’d make him one but he needed to stop for cheese. He came home with cheese, chocolate bars and chips. Winning. ๐
MY FIRST PREGNANCY/BABY GIFT
My friend and fellow teacher Angie (you might remember her baby shower and new baby boy from previous posts), brought the sweetest gift to my Wednesday evening class. I got my first two maternity t-shirts as well as an ultrasound ornament for the tree and week/month counting blocks for pregnancy/baby. So cute!
NEW SAMPLES FROM WILD FRIENDS + A DISCOUNT CODE FOR YOU!
As I mentioned in my Portland recap, I was able to swing by the offices of Wild Friends and finally meet founders Keeley and Erika in person. They sent me home with all the samples you see above. Thank goodness I had a checked bag!
First, I am OBSESSED with this new Peanut Cashew Super Butter flavor. It’s so delicious and has quickly moved to the #1 current spot on my nut butter list. I’ve eaten half the jar on my own this week. And I miiiiggghht have hidden it from Tanner so that I can have it all for myself. I think that’s totally rational. ๐
I was also excited to try their newest product to market, Nut Butter Oats.
These are perfect for those of you needing a healthy breakfast to take to work/school or to travel with. The oat blend is gluten-free oats, chia seeds and flax seeds and then it’s packaged with a packet of their super butter to drizzle on top. Genius right?
I had to give them a try this morning and the verdict is really good!
The girls at Wild Friends are awesome and they’re offering my readers 15% off of any order for the next month with code pbrunner15.ย
Here’s a link to their online store. Be sure not to miss their seasonal flavors. There is a chocolate pumpkin spice peanut butter this year. YUM.
Note, the nut butter oats aren’t available online quite yet (any day now and I’ll remind you about the discount code when they are!) but you can find them in-store at Sprouts!ย

Speaking of half marathons…I’m running one tomorrow morning!
So much for it not being freezing cold at the start! Those “real feel” temps are what’s really scaring me.
I’d be lying if I said I was 100% confident about this race. I didn’t go over 8-9 in my training although I ran that distance at least 5 times. There’s also the whole pregnancy thing but I talked to my doctor about it this week and he’s totally on board as long as I keep the pace casual and stay conversational for the race. He suggested walking up some of the hills…which sounds like a great plan to me! ๐
I’m also going to make sure I eat a good breakfast and take two gels with me to eat during the race. I plan to take one at 6 and 9.
I honestly think the biggest pain is going to be having to go to the bathroom. I predict no fewer than two porta potty stops along the way. ๐ P.S. I’ll have a post about running in the first trimester up for you soon!
Off to fold mountains of laundry, teach and hit the expo to pick up my bib. Tanner is picking up the brussel sprout pizza from Stagioni for dinner tonight. He suggested it for my “carb loading” and I was like, YES!
What’s your current favorite nut butter brand/flavor?ย
Anyone else running a race this weekend?ย
If you could pick your ideal race day weather, what would it be?ย
Thank you for the link love! And another huge congrats on your pregnancy – so excited for you!! <3
Thank you for sharing my link!!! And I LOVE those blue under armour shoes. So cute!! And the wild friends oatmeal cups?! I need to get my hands on some! ๐
I’ve been wanting to try the Wild Friends nut butters. The “super” one sounds so good! ๐
The weather gods were on my side on my first (and only!) marathon! My favorite weather to run a long distance in is 50s and overcast. I NEVER became overheated during the entire marathon and my muscles warmed up quickly.
It’s crazy but I’ve all but given up most running. I pretty much just lift, and do a few HIIT sessions a week and just take long walks. I kind of miss training for races, but yet I haven’t decided to jump back into the race scene either.
Would you recommend the UA running shoes for high arches?
