Happy Friday! After a busy morning, I wrapped up my training and teaching for the week at 1 p.m. and have a rare Friday afternoon off. I usually have clients on Friday evenings. Yay.
The biggest news of the day is that this little nugget is five months old! (Her nickname is “The Chicken Nugget.”)
She has brought so much joy to both my life and her sisters. I feel seriously guilty for waiting so long to get a second dog because Sullie is so happy and active with Zoey. I’m going to write a separate post about that whole dynamic soon. I’ve received a lot of questions about it.
It’s really hard to believe how fast puppies grow. She has absolutely transformed over the last three months from a little ball of fluff into a mini-dog.
She’s also transformed from a peeing, playing and sleeping machine to a really sweet, curious, outgoing and energetic girl. It’s been really fun to watch her personality develop and to compare it back to what Sullie was like when she was a puppy. They are different but so similar in many ways.
More puppy talk to come! I have some fun posts planned. 🙂
Now for some reading material to take you into your weekend.
First let’s talk about The Girl on the Train. I just got this book on my Audible app this week and I can’t get enough of it. I’m so sucked into the story. I kind of wish I’d have bought the actual book instead of audio because I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t put it down until I finished it. I’m only about 1/4 the way in but I highly recommend this book. It’s suspenseful with interesting characters.
Has anyone else read it!? Don’t tell me how it ends!
I have been keeping browser tabs open all week so I would remember to share all of the articles I’ve enjoyed with you.
- The 2015 Dirty Dozen Plus – the fifteen fruits and veggies with the most pesticides along with the “clean 15,” the 15 with the least amount of pesticides.
- The Facebook Status That Every Woman Should Read – the part about September 11 is a little bit over the top but I love the overall message.
- The Better Side of Broken – every single yogi should read this. I couldn’t have captured it or written it any more beautifully.
- A Glass of Red Wine is Equivalent to an Hour at the Gym, New Study Says (so I guess I’m basically doing double gym sessions every day! :))
- How I Got A Sister I Didn’t Even Know I Needed – this made tears stream down my face and I feel so grateful to have a friend like this in my life.
Finally, these words from Dr. Wayne Dyer spoke to my soul today.
Have a lovely weekend!
She is so beautiful!
thank you! 🙂
Zoey is growing up SO fast!!! She is adorable and my heart melts seeing both her and Sullie together 🙂
i know! it’s so crazy how fast puppies grow and change.
golden puppies are the sweetest. i really look forward to reading more about the dynamic of bringing a new puppy into the family. also, thanks for the tip about red wine — i’m really going to enjoy my glass this evening!
Wow, I can’t believe how different Zoey looks at just 5 months! Still adorable, luckily 🙂
i know! golden puppies are super cute but i think they’re so beautiful when they’re full grown too! 🙂
She’s grown so much!
Also, I LOVED Girl on the Train. It’s got a similar feel to Gone Girl, but a much better ending. And in the vein of books, it you haven’t read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn, you should add that to you list as well!
i did read sharp objects. CRAZY book!
I loved The Girl on the Train! I read it in about 3 days!
Zoey is so adorable! It makes me want a second dog!
hi!
I have 2 hours or less left of the Girl on the Train on audible! It’s very good. Have been listening when I run and it totally makes the time running fly by!
Enjoy it!!
i’ve been listening to it on runs too and it totally entertains me!
Hi Jen!
Have you ever heard of the website instapaper? I use it to save certain articles for work, it’s amazing! It lets you save the link to the article and create a customized title so you can easily reference it later. That way you don’t have to keep the tabs open all week!
Just thought I would share!
~Keri
i have not, thanks so much for the tip. i think that would be super helpful for me for keeping track of things.
So cute! Would love to hear more about adding a second dog. We have a 2-year old frenchie and sometimes think about getting a second. He would love a playmate but he’s so easy and we have such a good routine going that I hate to mess that up.
post soon! i was also scared to mess with it while i had such a good thing going with sullie but it was worth it. chaos at times, but worth it!
The Girl On a Train looks interesting – I’m almost done the book I’m reading now, so I’ll have to check it out!
I love Zoey! She is so cute. Makes me miss my lab. I made your pumpkin oatmeal cookies from Bakin and Eggs the other day…they were AWESOME. Love your blog
yay! thanks for trying the recipe. and for the kind words! 🙂
LOVED Girl on the Train! Read it in 2 days as I couldn’t put it down. I’ve been recommending it to everyone! Enjoy!
I just finished Girl on the Train – is such a great book! I’ve been telling everyone to read it!
I finished that book last week. It was a weird one, but a good one. I think you’ll like the ending…I love how my Fridays end at 1. It’s really hard for me to do anything after that. I’m pretty much fried physically and mentally! Happy weekend! XOXO
OH MAN, that book was a good one. I did the audio version as well and would find myself sitting in my car outside the house because i wasn’t ready for it to end that day 🙂
Happy ‘reading’ and I LOVE the pup updates 🙂
Janine
haha! i do the same thing hanging out in the car.
thanks, i love sharing them and it’s fun to document.
The Girl on the Train was a great read!! I wish Paula Hawkins had written more fiction…hope she does in the future!
I’m reading The Girl on the Train currently and will probably be done by the weekend if you’d like to borrow it instead of finishing it on Audible. Just email me and let me know. I’m sucked in. I also watched 1/2 of Gone Girl on my flight to Mexico last Tuesday and it looks amazing and I can’t wait to finish it as well.
